@jculver you can’t really go from 4 to 6,he’s still rich and living in a mansion at the end of 4 and at the beginning of 6 he’s back in the old neighborhood and they never really refer to what happened in that one they just figure you’ve watched all the previous entries

Rocky is a real one. He loved Adrian more than anything. All he needed was her approval to train for the fight to get his mind straight. That meant everything to him.
Others have said it, and I'll repeat it: Adrian's "Win" is enough, but the bell and the montage after? Probably a top-3 moment in the entire franchise and likely no. 1 for many.
@@stefanskogh9648 I get that. Personally, I think 1 & 2 are just one LONG movie. As an English teacher, whenever I'm fortunate enough to do a movie unit, I use Rocky to teach the American Dream. I'd love the chance to develop a whole class around it: Rocky 1 & 2: pursuit of the American Dream Rocky 3: how to handle success Rocky 4: the idea of American exceptionalism, focused on the Cold War Rocky 5: how to go on when your dream crashes Rocky Balboa: how does the idea of success evolve? Creed & its sequels: passing knowledge to the next generation and modifying it to current state of the world

He wasn't playing himself in this scene, but Duran was legitimately dancing around Stallone without much effort and Stallone was legitimately trying to corner him. After filming the scene Stallone said that he should stick to pretending to know how to fight than to actually get in the ring and try to box.
This one did marvels for the characters of both Rocky and Apollo. So much of how we think about them now is just as much from this film as it is from the first one, if not more so.
I dont know what those people on Amazon are complaining about. Rocky 2 is even better than 1, and the best are still to come 😂. Even the worst Rocky, cough 5 cough, is still better than a lot of other movies. You simply cant go wrong with Rocky
I remember loving 5 when it came out,I was only 10 but I thought it was great. I get now why people had a problem with it but it has certainly aged better now that it’s not the final film
Rocky I is my favorite movie of all time. Rocky II is close to that and definitely the best sequel I've ever seen personally. Good reaction, thanks for posting.
Can't wait to see your actions on three and four... Five is so so I mean it's part of the collection so it is what it is... But Balboa is an awesome movie. Can't wait for you to react to this one as well.. then from there you need to go into the Creed series . Rocky is one of my all-time favorites? Just the story is amazing itself. The love that he had for Adrian all that he had gone through to get where he was is inspiring..
Great reaction, man. I wonder if Rocky's little poem he wrote to Adrian hit you like it hit me when I first heard it. You know the guy can barely read and write, but he made a poem that rhymed and told Adrian exactly how he felt about her. That last line, "I'll always be there to catch you," gets me everytime. And you know, Adrian was there to catch Rocky, too. You'll see.
39:50 "i saw you beat that man like no other, and he kept coming after you!" this is Rocky's style, he takes the beating, and it tires out the opponent, to the point he can not even protect himself once Rocky let's loose, and goes on the attack. they can't take it like Rocky. they don't call him "Rock" for nothing. 😂 another great reaction to a classic!
@@jasonward1470 mine too, and it's who is saying it, a man who has seen many fighters who have faced Apollo, and he's afraid of Rocky. one of my fav lines for sure.
That’s the hardest line in any movie ever. “There’s one thing I want you to do for me….. Win.” I’ll never not cry at that part. I can do anything if I have my missus love and support.
I was 13 when I first saw the original Rocky. I loved the love story of Rocky and Adrian. They were meant for each other. The thing about Rocky as a fighter is he is good at being able to let the opponent use him as a punching bag in order to wear the fighter out. He can take a beating and in the end he comes back to really fight and let loose to win. Great strategy. The baby born to Adrian in this movie was actually Sylvester Stallone's real life son Sage Stallone and also his real life wife did a cameo I believe in Rocky III. He came from humble beginnings, true underdog but truly all heart about him. Adrian in Rocky III gave one of the most awesome talks to Rocky on the beach when Rocky feels like he can't win. Adrian doesn't say too much but it's when and what she says is most poignant. This franchise is one of the best!
Here for your reaction bro!! Love the Rocky movies, love Stallone!! I very very very much agree with your creeper/predatory vibe on Rocky in the first one, hands down I agree. Be back for the edit bro! This movie definitely played with the emotions. IDK why it wouldn't have been rated better, but I usually don't trust ratings, I just watch the movie and make my own decision. This one was just as good as the first one. He tried to not go back to fighting but when pushed over and over, it was his only choice. 🔥 Reaction bro, absolutely love it! See you in the next one!!
Cannot wait for Part III! The opening montage alone is well worth the price of admission! Quite possibly the single best opening montage.... ever!!!! Rocky III is a banger!!!
Rocky's 1977 Trans Am and Smokey's '78 & '82 Trans Ams were the pinnacle of Tran Am. Then 1983 came along and ruined one of the most iconic muscle car profiles with the KITTmobile and pop-up headlights. 1983 was the year that killed the American muscle car.
I think part of the reason they showed the ending to the first movie, back then for a recap, you had to go out and rent the previous movie, VHS tapes were a new invention. No digital movie services or such. This way, they could remind you how things ended and give a nice transition.
Rocky III is my favorite in the franchise, with extraordinary development of all the main characters and the intricate relationships they share. Can't wait to see your reaction. BTW -- in your reaction to Rocky II, you spoke over one of Rocky's funniest lines. When he's in the ring with Mickey, waiting for the fight to begin, and he sees Apollo & Mickey asked, "Who'd you expect?" Rocky's response was priceless!! Listen again, at the 38:58 mark of this reaction. 😊
Rocky, in this fight, is undertrained and fighting using his weaker stance that he isn't used to in order to protect his vulnerable eye. He wins the contest in the last round when he finally resorts back to his natural stance.
I forgot about Adrian going into a coma. My ex-wife, the love of my life, was put into an induced coma to help her fight off covid and pneumonia. She never woke up. That was Dec 15th 2021. I just fuggin lost it. Thx Devin for the great reaction. I'll be waiting for the next movies !
I saw this at a drive in with my aunt Rita and her boyfriend, it was the last weekend of summer vacation and the El Dorado was showing a Sly themed 4 movie marathon starting with Rocky followed by The Lords of Flatbush and Paradise Alley then finishing with a 2am showing of Rocky 2. Usually when we went to all-nighters at the drive-in I would have a nap during the 3rd movie but that was the first time I watched all 4 movies, fell asleep on the drive home and instead of carrying me back in the house they left me to sleep in the car until noon.
Great story lol. I loved the Lords of Flatbush (Any movie that has Rocky and The Fonz in it...that's all I need), but any time I mention the movie, nobody knows what I'm talking about.
@@jasonward1470 First Sly Stallone movie I saw was Death Race 2000, most people think of Rocky Balboa when they think of him but to me he'll always be Joe "Machine Gun" Viterbo.
