really hope she qualifies. i’ll vote for her since I always vote for those who are on the fence in the semi. they just need a really good staging. hopefully they’ll give it to her.
I was waiting for your reaction!!!!! I knew you were going to like this one! You are one of the few EV reactors that actually value good VoCaLs!!! Iceland is giving us a good track + VoCaLs!!!!! Kudos to them!
They just need to make a proper staging for her in Liverpool and then Iceland is easily qualifying from semi 2! I love this song so much, been on repeat with it ever since the Songvakeppnin entries were released, currently in my top 3! 💜
I just love this song. I think it's currently my 9th but I know it will grow on me. Her live performance was amazing, that chorus just hits so hard and I love that ominous start. I really think Iceland is gonna qualify. I also feel like the fast "blooming" of the song isn't that bad, Televoters might want something really immediate. I feel like they sometimes dismiss songs that take them to long to build
Something is in the water for the Nordic countries this year. They are coming with quality and substance that can get them not only to that final but also to that left side of the board. Side note: she kinda reminds of Selma circa 1999 especially with that hairstyle
Just so you know, she sings in a choir in church... just bc you were talking about God and heaven 😁 It's always fun to see your reaction on the Icelandic songs 🥰 Greetings from 🇮🇸
I loved it the first time heard it. It has something really touching about it. I would also be very very sad to see Iceland not qualify. In Icelandic it would stand a better chance.
I am actually really liking the song and especially her as a performer and vocalist...I would change some English lyrics in Icelandic and the staging needs to be more impactful and then she will qualify I think. As of now, I hope but I don't know if it will be possible 😢
@@AlesiaMichelle lots of people said about most of the songs from 2 semi that it is non qualifier, but only 6 of them wont, there are already more then 6 non qualifying songs in semi 2, so it has better chances then if it was in first semi
@@AlesiaMichelle She's an engaging singer with a powerful voice. What's not working for me is all the frenetic camera work. There's hardly any close-ups of this woman, and she's the kind of performer who needs to make a connection with the home viewers. Simply too much happening onstage right now, when she's charismatic and cool enough to be our main focus.
I hope, it's gonna qualify, but I'm really worrying about it. Maybe she could do it, if her song progresses more and gets more dynamic, let's see. The peak is too early, and then it stays there, maybe it should go down again after the first chorus and then build up again, then go down again and build up again. We'll see.
i’d have also loved for her to keep the icelandic version cause i feel like apart from that voice, the song doesn’t really give us anything else original or outstanding i agree with you that this is struggling even in the weaker semi should it advance? hell yeah, will it? i really don’t know
Her voice is just 🤯🤯🤯 So far she has the best vocal. Even compared to Loreen, she might deliver a better live vocal. Cuz let's be real, I love Loreen, but I feel like our girl was struggling to get these notes right on Melodivestivalen.
I really like this song , this is such a popular genre in the UK aswell I can see Iceland getting good points from the UK. I just think they should stage this abit better and polish the camera angles abit if they keep the same visuals and colour scheme the performance will be perfection 😍😍😍
The way to pronounce her name is Dilj Á. That last latter is pronounced the same way you pronounce the word "Ouch" except without the "uch" Hope that helps :)
She's in my top 5, but I also have a feeling she won't qualify :(. If juries voted in the semi-finals, I think she'd have a higher chance of qualifying
@@AlesiaMichelle if ireland gets its act together you can come here pretty cheaply on a direct plane, if loreen does win maybe rte will finally wake up
Gurl, I know _exactly_ what you mean!! I thought too like... is this supposed to be religious? I love it and the fact that she is hitting those notes while _lying down_ is absolutely amazing, but there is definitly something reminiscent of (good) christian Pop
I still think I overall prefer the Icelandic version of the song but this is solid. The vocals are there and she's a really good performer. While it does feel like a step down from Iceland the last few years, this definitely is not bad at all. If the staging package is good in Liverpool, I think it has a chance to qualify In my ideal world, I would love to hear a bilingual version!
I'm really worried for Iceland's chances of qualifying. As for now I don't believe in Q at all. The track would greatly benefit from a revamp to make the production more dynamic. That and a solid staging concept might give it a fighting chance but it's not looking good for now I'm afraid :/
The only accusation here that I'm seeing is that the song is basic. Well, guess how you can make it less basic? Native language lyrics! How are we supposed to know it's basic if we don't know what you're talking about? XD Make at least half of it in Icelandic and suddenly it's all mysterious and intriguing.
Her vocal is good, but this is nowhere near Robyn. sorry to say that. I feel this lacks power. I really feel it's very much 2006. and dated. And the styling reminds me of Barbara Dex. Think this will not move on to the final.
Guuuurl.... She's got Blanka quaking! Shaking! And quivering in Poland. She's shook.
THIS IS WHAT TALENT LOOKS LIKE, SOUNDS LIKE! 💖💝💖💝
Imma cry forever if she doesn't qualify. I SWEAR PLEASE. She has my vote already
We've had EDM songs in the past but not with great vocals. This year we have actual vocals. Big ups to Iceland.
really hope she qualifies. i’ll vote for her since I always vote for those who are on the fence in the semi.

I’m gonna vote so hard for Diljá in the semi! 🤞🤞🤞
My winner so far!!
BTW, Á in icelandic is pronounced like "au/ow" so her name is pronounced "Dil-yow" like the second syllable rhymes with cow. :)
TY
Interesting- thank you!
But Diljá is also the Icelandic version of Delia so this is better than how many will butcher the name

Drum and bass like. She is taking her power back, that base needs to come up and then it's from good to great!!!☮❤
I wasnt checking for iceland from the snippets so this is a good surprise
6:35 One of your best reaction moments 😂

There's still time... Icelandic in the first verse. English in the second. Icelandic bridge..
and who then qualifies from 2 semi? san marino belgium estonia and albania?
@@AlesiaMichelle Preach!
@@AlesiaMichelleI was going to comment and say she should do some in English and some in icelandic. Her voice is AMAZING!!
With a more dynamic/ interesting staging and even just having the bridge be in Icelandic, she will 💯% qualify.
I like this song. 🫶☺️ Amazing voice
Very radio friendly. Very UK radio friendly. Would be iconic with a full on drum and bass beat. Becky Hill would eat this too if she had it.

Cyprus, Estonia, Iceland, will we get all of them in the final this year? I actually think we could.
this will make it out of the semis. Semi 2 is a vast wilderness of "on the fence" selections.
But some folks might think this IS middle of the road. The performance elevates it but Idk I'm scared!

Btw u got the vocals too Alesia ❤ keep on goin gurl! Here 4 you
I strongly believe this will qualify and come top 15 at least.
I think she should keep it in Icelandic.
This is gonna qualify!! And get ti top 7!!
Bruh I feel old too when I know Dilja was born in 2002. As a millennial born in 1995 anyone born after 9/11 is immediately young in my book.

Now we have 12 songs as of now in the SemiFinal 2. We shoud say goodbye to at least 2 and I don’t hope Iceland is in these 2

Reminds me of their entry from 2017. It’s not bad but a step back from their 4 year streak.
She is 21 years old🥰

I don't know if I am alone in this, but hearing you saying "I don't know" over and over again really resembled me of Jennifer Coolidge hahah
If you read over the lyrics, it might be about mental health
Agree except i think it will qualify😊
The only thing I like about this is her, she's great. The song just exists.
Love the song, but i find the production to be hollow at some points
If you want an affordable eurovision you dont want it to be in Iceland its one of the most expensive countries in europe
But my flight would be cheap so it balances out.

I'm actually not keen on her vocal. To my ear it sounds like she's on the edge of hitting the wrong notes
But she never does though.
its nothing special, doubt she will qualify
I think that her vocals are billion times better than the song. The song is pretty bland to me. Not sure it will qualify
