    The way music video had better poduction and more budget then the actual selection. Also preety sure the team who worked on the music video will also be working on their staging so I'm really excited.

    Petition to protect this masterpiece! Good songs need to be in Eurovision, without any political manipulations or stuff like that! Besides that, I am so happy that Czech language is back. Moreover, this mix of English, Bulgarian, Czech and Ukrainian is really good.

    And she placed top 10 as well (also with the jury).
    If Kalush can be in the top 5 and Manizha top 10 with the juries, then Vesna can do the same.
    And I don't see any reason why the public WON'T love this.
    This could be their best result and yeah, maybe even a win

    This year could be real good for Czechia with the rule changes, no worries about jurors knocking Vesna down in the semi finals, and that’s one less thing to fear about

  • @lydiafrost8769
    @lydiafrost8769 Рік тому +15

    I was excited about Vesna from their original music video but was disappointed by the staging at the live performance. It seemed all over the place (especially the rap!). Pam's staging was way more polished! I hope Vesna figures something out for the finals

    • @kikyosaka1900
      @kikyosaka1900 Рік тому +16

      Their staging was very simplified and slightly messy probably because of the fact that the Czechia delegation practically had little budget to manage.But they can totally improve it come Eurovision as it's said that the producers involved in the music video are going to be responsible for the staging!

    • @alex_6448
      @alex_6448 Рік тому +3

      @@kikyosaka1900 seconding this. Plus Czechia has a fantastic track record with staging, and also providing their artists with the tools to improve their performance apart from the staging. Everyone was hating on domi’s vocals during their pre show live performances and then they delivered live, plus had one of the most fitting and exciting stagings of the year. They also skyrocketed lake Malawi in the scoreboard thank to the staging. And although Mikolas was already a full package when selected, they still gave him one of the few compelling and memorable stagings of 2018 (oh rue that damn stage)
      Gabriela, Marta and Vaclad all got very good stagings too (better with each year naturally). The one exception is maybe 2017 and again, that was fairly early on their return.
      Hell, even if Benny was the exception of the vocals and did flop, his staging was still cool as fuck.
      This girls clearly don’t have to improve their vocals that much. The choreography and staging is gonna be good bc the Czech broadcaster puts effort into it hiring the right directors for the show. I really don’t see them not delivering a performance worthy of the crown (were the voting be fully impartial, we still can’t ignore they barely have any public support. But hey, Mikolas did beat that so it’s clear they can get it occasionally).

  • @cherrycolouredshades
    @cherrycolouredshades Рік тому +3

    the multilingual nature of the song ensures them a panslavic support, the song is good anyway but that will boost their result surely, they may get like a 5-10 place

  • @in_wino_veritas
    @in_wino_veritas Рік тому +7

    Yes, it was either Vesna or Pam, who could have done something at Eurovision, so eventually, they chose right. I think, it's definitely gonna qualify and probably end up on the left side of the scoreboard, bc it's out of the box and I doubt, there will be anything similar this year. I'm not sure about a victory, though.

    People saying spain is more risky because people wont get it where in fact personally i think this is a risk for Czech republic, i didn’t think they translated the song as well live and i get its a small stage but i am a bit worried for them tbh

    • @atavi7322
      @atavi7322 Рік тому +3

      Same here… this is my fav so far, spain after that, but i think spain is going to be amazing live and I hope Vesna does also… but I an a bit afraid the message might be lost in the performance. I feel like they need a small choir or sth to support them during the chorus plus figure sth out about the performance/choreography

    Dear Alesia, please tell the Eurovision organisers to stop backstabbing the Czech Republic. 4 times we've been in the final and we've been on 1st (Domi), 2nd (Gabriela), 3rd (Lake Malawi) and 14th (Mikolas) in the running order. Every time we draw 1st half, the Czech Republic gets put in the first 3 and it kills our chances and we've scored 7 televote points or less. The one time we drew 2nd half, they put the Czech Republic on as the 1st song in the 2nd half (14/26). It's starting to look like the organisers don't like the Czech Republic. Please stop putting the Czech Republic on so damn early in the final!

    Agree with you on the rap part both on Stefania and Vesna. I cant stand Stefania for the rap part, I also, though, enjoy the flute and stuff. But as you said, I totally agree with you on the ESC juries voting for "rap bits" of the song Stefania. Let's hope that last year the juries voted clearly for song that later won rather than for country and Vesna could get some jury love as well.

  • @escserg6731
    @escserg6731 Рік тому +2

    Ukraine's 12 jury points last year came from Moldova, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland plus aggregated ones from Romania. As you can see, they're all former USSR countries heavily supporting Ukraine now, so it's obvious that those 12 points were for a country, not for a song. At the same time, 13 countries didn't give Ukraine a single point. So, I can't see any precedent with juries voting for hip hop here. It was voting for Ukraine, nothing more.

    This would have so much impact if it was the 6 girls in a row with similar vide styling and minimal but very thoughtful movement/choreo - pretty much what they do at the acapella part
    For now it's messy and live it loses the message.

    I agree the live performance of the rap part was a bit weird, but if she pulls it off more the way it was in the music video, it is really powerful part. The live performance was very low budget and rushed, so I hope the music video performance is more indicative of the final product.

    I love the production and the beat of this song. Upon first listen I didn't really connect with the lyrics. Later on I watched a tiktok where someone was explaining that they are low-key singing about sister Ukraine and what Russia is doing to them. It's very subtle but no politics in Eurovision thanks. Not even Ukraine is sending anything political this year, otherwise they would've chosen Jerry Heil. Heart of Steel is definitely an empowering song for Ukraine but I wouldn't call it propaganda. It's not a winner for me sorry. Borderline Qualifier

    I completely disagree with your thoughts about the rap part in Stefania. I like the contrast it provided with the traditional and flute parts.
    Also MSC is still leaving a bad taste for me because of the drama over on Twitter. The way people start disregarding and laughing at actual concerns from a Ukrainian point of view was just disgusting. Even if the band's intention is good, their messaging can be seen as tone deaf, and the way people are just minimizing that is off-putting.
