    "Chronicles Of Narnia" always help get me out of a slump. Same thing with the "Dear America" books. Kids books they are, but I love them anyway!

    One of my absolute favorite qualities of Linus in House in the Cerulean Sea is how fond he was of his pajamas that was gifted to him from DICOMY. I just thought it was so adorable. Before the Coffee gets Cold is also a really enjoyable quick read!

    How I love and appreciate the fact that you used word count instead of pages. I always feel like we should use words to decide the length of books and not pages. I really appreciate this. ❤🙏🏼

    Ahh I had a long week. And a long day lol. I had exams last week, and today we had two extremely long classes on French and Literature Analysis. Not that they aren't my favorite subjects, but at the end of the week, I just want to relax. Luckily, next week is entirely a vacation, and I look so so forward to it! I'll be going home, and needless to say raiding bookshops 😅 this video could not be more perfect timed 😍 nothing better than to hear Christy talk about books while I pack! Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Here, have some sunshine and strawberry ☀️🍓

    My go to for slumps is the Pages & Co series or the Nevermoor series, both of which are so heartwarming and cosy 💛

    Currently reading the first book in lord of the rings. I’m enjoying the writing so far as world building, its just so long. I feel like I’m not going to finish it. How do you manage reading more than one book at time? I’m afraid if I pick something else up I’ll lose interest in the current book.

    52k words is supposed to be about 102 pages, that is only like 2 hours if people read at 50 pages an hour, I think that is below average... so probably would take less than 2 hours. Idk, I calculate it sometimes but only because I write a lot and usually have word limits-so I usually try to estimate how many pages so I know relatively how many pages I have left.

    Hey loved your content
    But I have a suggestion
    When you talk about a book which is not physically with you please put up the reference picture until you stop speaking about and jump to the next book
    It will be helpful that way
    Love you❤️❤️❤️

    On the subject of the modern Prometheus, I think we could also make the comparison of Victor creating a man with his hands to the myth wherein Prometheus sculpts the first human beings at the behest of Zeus.

    Very nice recommendations, you keep reminding me I need to read Piranessi!
    For some reason I tend to get out of readong slumps with huge books that are over 600 pages 😂
    But I just read Almond by Won Pyung Sohn, which is quite short (don't know how many words but just about 250 pages) and I could NOT put it down. I felt really engaged with the narrator, so I recommend it for anyone who needs a quick one to get out of a slump ☺️

    Why do u say the amout of words and not pages

    • @christy-anne-jones
      @christy-anne-jones  Рік тому

      Because the number of pages changes depending on your font type, font size and formatting. Two books can have the same number of pages and be different by tens of thousands of words. So, number of pages is too inconsistent to be a usable metric (in my opinion) 😊💛
