Short chapters are my jam!! I love a long book. Some of my favorite books creep close to 1000 pages, but short chapters make a book fly by, no matter the page count. My favorite thing in the world is saying, "ok, just one more chapter!" knowing full well I'll likely be saying that again in just a few pages.

Same!! I honestly think if books had shorter chapters it would be easier for non readers to get into reading!! I love them!!!

The way I’m getting out of a two year reading slump is poetry. I find it a lot more digestible to read and pick apart a single poem than it is a novel. Also working though a poetry book (the worlds wife atm) and a book (the song of Achilles) at the same time gives me a good breather and allows me to keep going

I think my first actual reading slump was in the middle of Goblet of Fire, which I don't know why because that book was amazing. What I normally get is that I pick up a book and suddenly feel like reading something else, then I finally give up and pick up the other book and start eyeing another book🤦‍♀️Like I am currently reading a book I have been meaning to read for a while, but I can't focus on it because I've suddenly got this intense craving to re-read Nevermoor(Which may be partially your fault mind you😑) But I love that book so I am not complaining...not much. Great video though! Can't wait to pick some of these up

Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins is one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. Don’t let the title fool u bc there is so much depth to this story. It’s 372 pages and it’s written as a love story. But it definitely develops the characters and it truly is such a raw and realistic viewpoint about love and feelings. There’s also spin off book of one of the friends. Anyway, if you’re in a reading slump go read this book as well. If I could I’d wipe my memories of this book just to read it again for the first time.

Lock Every Door sounds really good. Not only that, but the cover art is aesthetically really appealing to me. I first got into thrillers a few years ago. I think my introduction to it was, of course, You by Caroline Kepnes. But, here's my recommendations for really good thrillers:
1- The Good Girl, Don't You Cry, and When The Lights Go Out (all by Mary Kubica)
2- An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
    3- The Girl in 6E by A.R. Torre (Book 1 in a 3 book series, I haven't read the other 2)
4- The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins (I predicted the ending correctly, but that doesn't mean the story wasn't still unenjoyable. We love a good unreliable narrator).

Ready Player One was amazing! I recently read this and I agree, I couldn't put it down. I got so excited because there was a movie. And I was like if the movie is even half as amazing as the book...I don't know what I'll do with myself. I'm so glad I read the book before watching the movie, because if I hadn't, I would have never picked up the book. The movie is absolutely horrible. Maybe even worse than that. I can not believe that was a Spielberg movie. Probably one of his worst movies! But I'll definitely be checking out Lock Every Door and Evermoor! And I just have to say, this is my first video that I have watched of yours and you're my new favorite booktuber. Seriously! How do you only have 28k?

Middle grades are the best to get out of reading slump! I agree with that so much! Right now I am reading a middle grade to get out of a slump. Zin Mignon and the secrets of the pickled pigs' feet. It is absolutely adorable, and makes you hungry!

love these recommendations and i seriously love your channel! this was the first video i found of yours, and i love your energy. i have attention and focus issues, and i very rarely find book tube youtubers that can get my attention and keep it, and most videos on yt in general i often can't stick to one whole video. yet you managed to captivate my focus with your very happy vibes for the whole video, not to mention i have added six books to my tbr list! thank you and i'm definitely subscribing!

When i was younger i would read a book a day! Then university came and life was just so so BUSY. Plus Netflix came along and I found it so much easier to binge Real Housewives. I tried to come back to reading and it’s been so hard! My first read after years of not reading was Atwood’s The Blind Assassin. It was so so good.
However I’ve noticed lately I seem to be more enamoured with the act of browsing and buying books rather than actually reading!!! Any advice? I even went back to old childhood favourites like A Series of Unfortunate Events to try and reignite the spark.

I love your highlighter sooo much it's beautiful, what is it please? Also I love the list of books, I've been eyeing up the midnight library for a while now. I would also recommend graphic novels for a reading slump they helped me alot when I was in a reading slump and depressed and they are short and whitty, you can get through a few and it helps. Pumpkin Heads helped me alot. And also I recommend middle grade, The Wizard In My Shed by Simon Farnaby, Honestly I'm surprised no-one mentions this book it's absolutely amazing it was the first mid grade book I read and haven't stopped since. It's so well written, so whimsical, it makes you feel so happy inside I can't recommend it enough it's actually amazing 😄 😊 and now I am currently reading the Pages and Co series by Anna James.. again amazing. 😊 xx

I'm halfway through reading Nevermoor because I saw you recommend it in another video and I am loving it! It is a lot better than I was expecting. Earlier today I read the race scene that you talked about and I was on the brink of screaming, I couldn't sit still, and I had to know how that scene would end. This book is so good and I think it is going to get even better.
