Do you think you can make a list of the products you use? possibly also the sites where you buy them?
I would appreciate it very much!

I have an experience in cloning flower pot. There was another easy way to open cylinder mold is by knocking from inside on the middle cylinder. It will make the air getting in.
Edit: or pouring hot water on it

What kind of release agent you using exactly ?
Does wax do the job very well ?
Is this closed part possible with carbon vac infusion ?

      For mould making I use:
      CR1 Easy-Lease Chemical Release Agent www.easycomposites.eu/easylease-chemical-release-agent
Wax I only use on mould for fibreglass parts.
Yes its possible for vac infusion, I would make the flanges longer than or you can doe a envelope bagging.

Why is the mold resin a strange color? What is it? Nice tidy work!

Good for all normal productions but with autoclave prepreg it might be a problem

@@Republicofcomposites I work as a boatbuilder. We use Honey wax on every mold when we build boats. 😁👍. 20 years ago, we use the toxic zywax🤮

@@biff1tannen U used honey wax years ago, its really the best release agent there is but really hard to get over here.
Dont know it works in autoclave though.

I can see that u have an autoclave. This simplifies the process. Otherwise, u would have to use a soluble core. Good job, i dont know how long these fiberglass polyester moulds would last though

Thnx,They are full vinylester moulds to 145°C they hold for many parts but you need to have really good release agent and 0 airbubbles, even the little airbubbles wil show under pressure.

@@Republicofcomposites Hi, Can you tell me how to avoid this air bubbles or how to prevent it because I am also a mold maker but when I paper the mold then porosity appears microbubbles all around. i am applying gelcoat with gelcoat gun g100 any suggestions will be a great hel

@@vakotmohsin634 Hi, I never use a gelcoat gun always brush it on. well first the vinylester gelcoat needs to be fresh, the older the gelcoat the thicker it gets. Always stir every resin before use, (prefure drill mixer).
Ofter I take the amount I need and mix it with mekp I put it in a degassing chamber.
When aplying put it down thin and keep your brush straight up from your part.
I always put gelcoat on last work of the day, next day you can put a second cout the same way as the first on.
Also 1% mekp in Gelcoat as correct as possible dont go below 1% and not above 1.25%
Hope this help pls let me know !

I always see you use a small brush in every job you do in making fiberglass, is there a reason? why don't you use a big brush to speed things up a bit?

    • @Republicofcomposites
      @Republicofcomposites  Рік тому

I find a small brush better to get good results on the parts.
There they always want white gelcoat for the race fairings its hard to see airbubbles. When I used a big brush its more difficult to remove them.
On big more flat parts I just use big paint roller and follow up with brush.
