Hi, how did you seal the fan shaft to prevent pressurized air from leaking?
@@ANDREA9.81 I used graphite sealed square rope.
which prepregs do you use for making the molds and the parts? 8 H cycle it's a lot of time. If you use peelply in the bonding area, you don't need to sand the part and you have a uniform surface
Fantastic work! End product looks great!
Magnifique 😊
Always love to see your work! What are the main advantages of carbon velocity stacks instead of the weight? Something with temperature?
Thnx, well I think the big difference with these are they are much larger on the crown (top) than the stock ones. Therefor they can get more air more easy. Carbon doesnt hold heat as long as alumunium but that isn't the main difference here I think. if you look for stock ducati 888 stacks you see the difference.
Happy to see your new video again 👍🏻
Thank you 🙏
How to press up and down parts bro? Can tell me

Kindly reply my email.
If you used a different or cheaper wax, would you have trouble removing it?
@@3m4r38 hi, I always used this wax, only other wax I had was honeywax what also worked well. If it works stik with it. Also always follow product info from manufacturer.
Very talented! I am based in Tokyo. What the best way to contact your services?
Hello, thnx! My instagram and e mail are in my channel profile. regards
maaan do you know ho to use the focus on camera))?
all this material for just one piece? too there is another method to do it!!! ....pre-preg fiber and do infusion?
You can use polyester to reinforce but I rather like full carbon fibre no fake parts. In the set of the 2 funnels there is less than square meter of fabric and 400gram of resin. I can do prepreg but don't see much advantage in it, the parts don't get under any stress and they are post cured to 120°c.
Pre preg kills it shame I can’t post a picture of the real deal
Nice so you also got an autoclave!
@@Republicofcomposites Yes mate I do, had many various sizes over the years I’ve sold my big one 6.5mtr x 2.4mtr wide. Still have a 4x1.5mtr clave.
@@racecomp3639 nice, mine is 0.8m by 1.7m. Is big enough atm but in future I want bigger one. The 1.5m at 4m looks like ideal size for also doing car parts.
What was the process for making the mold?
Vinylester moulds
What material did you use for white part?
It's polyester gelcoat and resin.
Seems like a good fit.
I came across a video that satisfies my current desire
Thank you! Pls subscribe there Wil be more in the future!
First of all, Good job, i can help you with this.... me helping you save money and time and make your job faster and easier...so basically earn more per hour. 1) Cut the square smaller 5 Cm smaller around, there is no need for so big surface, you spend more time/ resin/tubes/mesh,peel ply and materials unneeded and you waist money in air.. 2)You just need 3 layers, there is no point adding 5 or overall 8 or 9 layers you have for this part of application. 3)Where you put the gum tape / vacuum tape, you don't need to add paper tape before that, just put the vacuum tape the first time, and then add the transparent gelcoat. its faster and easier, saves time and cost. 4)I would close the upper hole to like let the carbon overlap the top, so its easier to remove, just stick a screwdriver through it when its done and unstuck it faster, or make a hole there, and fill it with the yellow putty or what it's called, then just blow air in it from the other side. 4) I would advise you to buy mesh with a plastic film in one, saves time. 5) lot of people put peel ply on all of the back surface, but you don't need to, just leave the mesh with the plastic film as the last layer, saves time/money. But if its for looks, yes peel ply is best. for the finish. 6) please use gloves when adding glue, save your health and skin. 7) buy some adhesive so the carbon sticks to the other layers, and the mesh with the plastic film AND a adhesive for Carbon so it does not move the fabric around and make little fabrics come out, it will save you time to press them down with hands/fingers. 8) if you leave the mesh with the plastic film as the last layer, you don't need to put the peel ply as the last layer and just use the peel ply as a BRAKE for the resin. Add a strip of peel ply before the vacuum line, so it brakes the resin and allows the resin to catch up. all of this is easy to do, and we make car parts like that, even some parts for HGK drift team when they order some of them from us.
Thanks a lot for this nice video ! Hi from france ( Lille ;) ) do you organise sometimes some teaching event in Belgium for beginners like me ?
Your two part method has been what I needed to figure how to make these stacks for my Aprilia RSV4. The tabs where the bolts go break off easily...
@@AdamWarwicker I made them 5layers 220g twill carbon
@@Republicofcomposites thanks, that's great to know and I'm sure they won't break!
For that small part I wouldnt even use a spiral on the inlet of the epoxy, and the flowmesh can be 1/5 as big. You just need flowmedia around your part if you have a slow curing Epoxy. The Epoxy will be sucked into the dry fibers when the part is this small.
@@NiclasGudmundsson it's really cold here so the epoxy doesn't flow that well. It could work but I wanted to be safe.
@@Republicofcompositesahh yes if it's cold it's a good idea, but if you have the slow curing epoxy I think it would be good anyway, the part is really small.
Impressive! I would've been lazy and went for prepreg.
Thnx, well after the first set I'm thinking the same thing. Prepreg would been faster.
I had the same thought, prepreg would been a 20 minuters job for lay up.

Excellent work on a very complex mold! I guess it wasn't easy to spray gelcoat into?
I might have to use TR-104 since I am having trouble sourcing semi-permanent release agents over here. Which brings the question: Why aren't you using something like Frekote 770-NC? I used it years ago for infused carbon and it was just perfect.
Hi, I use tr104 for normal polyester parts. Fore infusion, prepreg I use chemlease ez. I Keep using the TR-104 because I'm using it for many years and never had any problems. Also I can get multiple parts with no wax every time.
@@Republicofcomposites Sounds good. I can get TR-104 easily here in Thailand. Have you ever tried it for epoxy infusion on a vinylester gelcoat, vinylester mold? I'm hesitant to try but the TDS says it will work fine.
@@tommyt9519 epoxy would work if it's handlayup so no extreme heat. Vinylester can also work depending on the type of vinylester. Vinylester is much more aggressive than epoxy cause no styrene in epoxy
@@tommyt9519 epoxy would work if it's handlayup so no extreme heat. Vinylester can also work depending on the type of vinylester. Vinylester is much more aggressive than epoxy cause no styrene in epoxy
@@Republicofcomposites I was wondering if you had used TR-104 when infusing epoxy into a vinylester tooling gelcoat faced mold?
But for that to be used to prepeg what are the specs for that? The vinylester cloth is normal, right? But the resin is high temp? What brand?
Sabes si le da a la duke 390 ?
You did not show the process of spraying/building up the clear coat on top of the waxed mold, before laying down the carbon fiber. From my experience, you must spray many VERY LIGHT mist coats to build up the surface (4 to 8?), then spray a medium coat, then a wet coat. If you don't use enough mist coats, the med coat will bunch up into globs, and you have to start all over, after the mess of globs cures. Reading the last comment, the process of spraying the clear coat into the mold, then molding the carbon fiber on top, is time consuming: takes me about 45 minutes to spray the mist coats, flash 5-10 minutes between, then the medium and wet coat. However, it saves hours of post-mold work as you mentioned, where the part has to be sanded, clear coated, cured, sanded again (pin holes appear in the first clear coat layer), clear coat again, and possible cure, sand, and re-clear until there are no pin holes. Pin holes appear where every fiber tow (bundle) goes under a cross tow: in 4 places! That's a lot of pin holes. Also, the clear coat will always have an orange peel texture, because you sprayed the clear coat on to the part. You'd have to cut (progressive sand) and polish the clear coat to get it "flat". Or, do the Clear In Mold process!
Ok from what I've done with fiber glass, it would have already set up and got hard by now.
you painted the mould black before applying carbon?
its black gelcoat, its a fierglass fender no carbon fiber.
@@Republicofcomposites do you let the gelcoat cure fully or just to b-stage? if you let it cure fully will it not have problems bonding to epoxy?
@@capitao2259 its made out of polyester resin, with epoxy you wil have this problem if you wait to long yes. thats why I only use epoxy in prepreg or infusion. and when infusing I dont use a gelcoat with epoxy.

Have you heard anything about BMW refusing or banning the use of Motul 300V in their engines across Germany, practically all oils that use “EstaCore” technology, have you heard anything like that!??
@@NHassi hi, no not really, most of the bikes are running champion oils because sponsor deal. Only problem with new bmw is vibration in the crank and rods, making cam and crankshaft sensors braking. The latest model has this fixed.
good work. regards from germany
Great work, thanks for sharing!
😮
I have a ZB50. Isn't that the same tank?
I am VERY confused by this. I can NOT tell what gear the bike is in when doing the dyno run??? This guy is shifting up & down all the time. I ran a dyno for 9 years taught by DYNOJET... This is verry MISLEADING. Send this dude to DYNOJET for some TRAINING.
I only go thru gear to warm up bike, the runs are made in the same gears, also they are made back to back. I got my dyno and flowbench training from superflow! The only important thing is how much you gain from the filter unless you map it to correct fuelling at all throttle positions and best every cilinder apart!
Do you accept custom order for carbon fiber fuel tank?
What bike?
