Classical guitars are our passion! We are specialized in the highest quality concert guitars as well as historic guitars from around the world. Our passion for these unique instruments and the joy to give guitarists, passionate players, and collectors the possibility to purchase their own appropriate instrument is the motivation that drives us. Another focus is to work closely with established and young, largely unknown luthiers. Together we want to develop new ideas and share experiences with our customers.
We also recorded pieces for many great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazzolla and Isaac Albeniz (Asturias). You will also find almost all the classical music composers that wrote for the classical guitar. Make sure to discover Agustin Barrios Mangoré, Manuel Maria Ponce, Heitor Villa-Lobos and many more if you don't know their compositions already
You can find our show room in 76137 Karlsruhe, Roonstr. 31, Germany

1827 René Lacote: www.siccasguitars.com/shop/gu...
René Lacôte, (1785 - after 1868), apprentice of Joseph Pons, was the clever artisan who succeeded in exploiting his developments, both improving upon it and going further along the same road. Without let-up he tried to meet the needs of musicians, for instance improving the sound quality of the instrument, making it more powerful and ergonomic.
Lacôte was always sensitive to the needs of musicians and composers and he made his instruments trying to meet their desires. Lacôte carried on his work at various addresses, in the same quarter as his violin-maker colleagues Vuillaume, Chanot and Gand, very close to the Music Conservatory. He used at least three successive brands and won awards in 1839 and 1844 during the Great National Exhibitions.
His working life can be summed up as follows:
- Before 1818, he worked for Pons
- In about 1819, he was in rue Montmartre, where he took over the workshop from his colleague Martin
- In about 1823, rue Neuve St-Eustache
- In about 1823, Place des Victoires, where he remained until 15th April 1829; then he moved to rue de Richelieu
- In about 1832, rue de Gramont
- In about 1834, rue de Louvois
- In about 1843, still in rue de Louvois; also managing a shop in Ebury Street (London), starting the company “Lacôte & Cie”
- In about 1850, rue des Martyrs where he worked until 1868 at least.
This gorgeous Luigi Legnani model is in very good condition, perfectly restored and ready to be played. Back and sides are free of cracks, which is rather impressive for an almost 200 years old guitar. On the side nearby the heel, a small piece of maple was inserted. The top had four perfectly repaired cracks and the tuning pegs are now very convenient Pegheds™. The specificity of this Legnani Model is the slightly wider body, with very narrow waist. This guitar is, as always with René Lacôte, an absolutely stunning instrument. It has a clear sound, rich overtones, striking trebles and mellow basses. It is quite impressive that such a rich and fine instrument was built 200 years ago.
Luthier: René Lacôte
Construction year: 1827
Top: Spruce
Back and sides: Maple
Scale: 630 mm
Nut: 44 mm
Weight: 1020 grams
Air resonance frequency: C#

Anne Haasch plays Fernando Sor - Andante Largo Op. 5 No.5 on a 1827 René Lacote guitar
Romantic guitars from 1800's are wonderful instruments!
So wonderful a guitarist with her lively sounding performance, Haasch is so inspiring to me!
7 dislikes--those people have their own personal rain cloud over their heads
Brings sanity at the end of the day. Thank you Anne your a real inspiration
Marvelous--like going back in time 200 years and hearing Sor himself play it. Lovely!!
ive been listening to this on loop for like 6 months
Very touching, the playing, the sound of the guitar..
Thanks very much. Merci beaucoup. Muchas gracias.
The most beautiful, meaningful performance of Sor, like no other I have heard. Breathtaking phrasing. I wish Sor could hear what Ms Haasch has done.
Sor is looking down with a smile ! xxxxxxx
Loved her performance! Would love to play on a Rene Lacote guitar! Please continue to bring us these little gifts.
A remarkably good guitarist who really made this beautiful old guitar sing.
Beautiful...absolutely beautiful!
This is fantastic! Thank you for posting.
a perfect touch on a charming guitar
Excelente! Parabéns! Gratidão
Warm and expressive playing on an instrument full of mid-range frequencies - sometimes missing in many of today's guitars.
Awesome!!
Wonderful, thoughtful interpretation of one of Sor's most ingratiating compositions; Anne shall, no doubt, have & deserve a fine career. The 1827 instrument offers a very special sound, probably (speaking for myself) unfamiliar - this guitar gives me a sense of being in a drawing room among civilized guests, listening to the Andante Largo being beautifully played, in its own day.
Brava, Anne!
Bravissima, e bella chitarra Lacote
Very nice!!!
Bravo
Exquisito.
Preciosa interpretación y sonido, todo cobra sentido en esa guitarra....
Beautiful
bravissima!
nice guitar .:) love it
Tolle Gitarre, toll gespielt!
Danke :-) ... herausforderndes aber eben auch charakterstarkes Instrument.
Schöne Musik, perfekt gespielt
Très beau.
totally enchanting, divine.
👏👏👏👍🌹🙂🇬🇧
She is playing beautifully. And the guitar itself I don't think I've ever heard anything like. The sound is incredible. Is anybody have any idea how much this guitar sells for?
Wie eine schoene Guitarre!
How did she play? It's perfectly sound: feelings performance.. romantic guitar..
Hi. Im wondering if this is advanced or intermediate? you made it seem so easy. Im having trouble separating the voices of 16th notes in the minor part. I like the video and the old style guitar.
This guitar neck so unusual, the appearance ,to last a lifetime time......
Damn!!!Was that utterly gorgeous or what......pure heaven.
_GOD bless you Anne, very sweet!_ 😎
I think women are taking over the classical guitar in a beautiful way.
For a second i think i heard Piano playing
Is this guitar tuned down a hole step? Why?
Yes, it is ... because a deeper tuning (between a´ 415 and 432´ ) was usual in that time ...
!!!!!!!!!
ahhhh, sadly played with fingernails, modern guitar techique and modern strings…😢
Bravo
