I have seen more than 30 reviews of w206 from various countries and presenters while waiting for my w206 to be delivered (ex w205 owner) and I have to say that this one was by far the best in all regards - delivery, balance, technical details, camera, vocabulary, honesty. Utmost respect to you sir!

Good review and coverage! Just sharing my own story, two months ago i almost wanted to place booking for the C200 until I checked the car out, the amount of hard plastics just turned off the deal. If not wrong, 60% of the door panel are in hard plastic, the scratchy and cheap type.
which car you went for eventually?
@@heanluen waiting for both CX-30 or XC40 whichever earlier, as of now seems to be CX-30 coming sooner.
BMW 3 Series is better in almost aspects and also cheaper than C Class. Despite 3 Series comes with better quality but C Class come with so many plastics

Totally agree with the last bit where you talked about the full-fledged safety features. Very very well said Hafriz. B&M really need to think about that.

Hafriz is one of the best reviewers for Paultan. I completely agree with most of what he said for C Class. He should have also reviewed Arteon unlike the other guy who I find was being biased against it in spite of claiming to not be.

Finally, W206 look gorgeous, the car's rim look nice now from previous star Amg rims.
Test drove it and was absolutely disappointed. Quality has plummeted as a whole from the W205 and the drive is barely engaging. The middle screen is pretty low-res too and that really shows when you turn on Apple CarPlay- an absolutely pixelated mess. I truly have no idea how Mercedes could approve this car for mass-production.
Only thing that has improved is the ride comfort I must add, albeit road noise is still a problem.
Not worth the upgrade, probably waiting for the G20 facelift at this rate.
Does it come with welcome animation from the headlamp?
Knowing Mercedes Malaysia, they are probably saving the digital headlights for the model they always release awhile after the early models are done. Like how the w213 e350/e300 got more stuff than the early released e200 & e250.
Becoz the initial models were fully imported from Deutschland unlike the later ones buatan Malaysia. Gotta pay for the original Mercedes craftsmanship.

Hey Hafriz, are you sure there's no ACC for the C300? I was at the Hap Seng Star showroom at the end of June recently and the salesperson mentioned that ACC is present on the 300 (C300, E300, etc.) variant and above.
And regarding AEB on 3 series, wasn't it added in the beginning of 2020, not last year?
I remember no ACC for C300. I might be wrong.
some reviewer said that the w206 is more comfortable and less sporty in term of handling. w206 is new/fresh for luxury, but the w205 is still better handling?

Thanks for the review. Looks like I have to hold on to my FL 300 for longer until all the upgrades are done to the 206 to make it worthy of an upgrade.

the ISG battery only lasts 30 seconds engine IDLE when stopping if you are turning on A/C, strong vibration when the engine starts again. the feeling is not good----Singapore w206 c180
Agreed with the vibration. Felt it too strong to go unnoticeable even at idle.

Nice red colour. But the upholstery looked kind of weird. Sorry. I would prefer the 1 tone colour for the seat upholstery. Like my W213. But the comfortness, I would say its not like people would expect from a stuttgart dude.
It’s a well known fact that run flat tyres are hard and uncomfortable.
But you can save your day by driving it to the workshop when it's punctured. Being there... done that

Hello mate, I want to buy Mercedes, but I am a bit confused about C200 and C300, which is good?
Go for C300, more bells & whistles and much punchier engine. Alternatively, a W205 C300 (facelift) from the previous gen is a good shout too. Avoid the 2018 - 2019 models though as they came with Airmatic (air suspension) on all 4 corners and will be a headache when it eventually fails. MBM replaced the air suspension to the regular passive sports suspension in 2020. Test drive, and go for the one that you love within your budget

My only question is what if the screen is not working anymore, how much would we have to pay to have it fix or to replace it??

Quite silly to put everything on the screen.. What if it cracked you can't even turn on the AC. Also kinda hard to press anything when the car is moving cause there's nothing to grab on too
Aircond button has to be physical, im not liking all modern cars ac touch button. Or at least put it as another option or spare rather than remove completely

330i's speakers & interior build quality way better. bmw also has had live traffic updates + wireless carplay for a long time. dunno why some had to pay tho mine came with android auto & apple carplay for free. also if its rlly a "big step forward" in terms of performance why is it slower than the previous C300 lol. bmw's B48 still has better low end torque in a wider band than merc's M254, its not just the ZF8 speed. also no mention why the C300 is 205 kilos heavier than a 330i? lmao. still prefer 330i's design, interior and handling. also surprised how you had zero complains for the crap touch sensitive buttons on the steering tbh. good old buttons for the steering & climate control in a G20. biased review at its finest. no surprises there coming from a C205 owner
Although W206 C300 has way higher horsepower and torque than W205 one, the 0-100 is slower by just 0.1s is kinda ridiculous but actual reason is because it weighs 1675 kg roughly. Heavier by 200 over kg then predecessor. Looks like less aluminium and more steel, more solid and hefty. Nice

I've test driven the C300 and actually made a booking when it was launched back in Feb. Whilst the interior looks very progressive, I personally found it less practical and not something that will sustain itself (esp. 90% of the time one has to rely on the centre ipad to navigate stuffs). I eventually decided to give this up for now (maybe will consider the future facelift model) and instead, added extra 30k and went for M340i. Whilst its a 2 yr old model and can look a little dated, but the interior is definitely of better quality (premium too), aside from the performance aspect and other premium fixes that comes with it. That aside, i somehow felt this C class has lost the premium exec saloon feel, compared to the W205. Still a good car, but just doesn't really meet the mark IMO.
The price is already a big downside as compared to the 3 series... Exterior wise I think it became more uncle but there's a huge improvement in terms of the interior as compared to the 3 series and in my opinion it's better too...

A much cheaper build quality than BMW. The steering wheel for the Merc is gorgeous but other than that, it is a plastic pig

With the Malaysian highways always jammed, who wants to buy a cramp compact Sedan like this C class with no space to run.
Better we enjoy buying The SUV version or other SUVs with better panaromic view, comfort and moreover spacious . We arrive safely .
