Great review. Thank you for showing that the Goggles 3 can be used with the DJI Mini 4 Pro. I ordered the Goggles 3 to be used with my Mini 4 Pro and Air 3.
Excellent review as always. I would also like to congratulate you on your perseverance and the weight you have lost. An inspiration to many people well done 👍
At 14:10 you said that you can use the goggles 3 with the Air 3. I watched on another video that this requires your cell phone to be tethered to the goggles while flying. Can you confirm?
There are a lot of great update to the Avata in this new version. Almost all the things we have been asking for. Great review Shawn, thanks for sharing.
I have been flying a tinyhawk for just under a month in manual mode. I want to build my own quad eventually. This kit is a nice next step after i fly a few months on my Tinyhawk. When the time to build comes, I can just build a rig with a DJI video chip and use the goggles from this kit.
Great review Shawn. Thanks for pointing out what others missed like the compatibility with other controllers. I have the air 3 and will now probably add the Avata 2. By the way you are looking you are looking healthy so I hope life is good. Keep it going in all ways!
Great video! Best review yet!! I’m glad you’re not talking smack about the original Avata like a lot of the other content creators out there! I swear some of them don’t even know that the motion controller2 has a reverse function!! I really do like all these new upgrades to the Avata 2! Love the OG but I’m thinking might be ordering the Avata 2 for more options!
Well, I'm off to the dark side! This will be my first FPV drone, and it's on its way to my mailbox! Cool that there is compatibility with the mini 4 too. Great video, Shawn!
Looks awesome!! This is probably an extremely beginner question but is there a control to zoom in the camera? or is it just permanently fixed at that zoom level?
Yeah. That's the only bummer about DJI, their stuff isn't cheap but you do get what you pay for and it is just my opinion, but I think it's a solid product and you'll have a lot of fun flying that around. It would make a great partner for my mini 4 pro. Could be endless possibilities with that combination 🏴☠️🚁
So happy I held off on buying the avata 1, even though it went on sale many times! I might just buy this one in a few weeks, the lower decibel level is really important for me. Appreciate the video.
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it and indeed that’s one of my biggest things. I fly in a lot of areas where there are people and it is considerably quiet compared to the original.
@@AirPhotography Yes same for me, and then people start to stare and some try to get involved and convince me I can't fly when I actually can, so I agree its very important.
No, they don’t really fit over glasses, but the dials do allow you to dial in your prescription. I have a pretty strong prescription and a stigmatism. And they look great for me. Just by adjusting the dials.
my only one question - did they add option to disable this annoying height limiter? not that limiter that is 500m. Im about limiter that dont allow you to go lower than 30 cm and at all - avata slows down its descending when flyes lower than 5 meters above anything.
Have you tried the eyeglass frames, with prescription lenses, to see if they fit on the new goggles? If it doesn’t fit, will the lenses fit in the eyeglass frames that come with the new goggles?
Not yet, but the company, Hans VR, which I’ve sent you ones in the pastor sending me ones for this new set, so I’ll be able to test them out and then make a video about it. I’ve always been pleased with prescription lenses and they are very affordable.
@@AirPhotography So we can't use our existing HonsVR lenses? I guess the lens will not fit in the new eyeglass holders provided with the new Avata. Mine were $79.00 because in addition to my astigmatism, I have a "prism" correction. I'm going to have to shell out the extra money if I want to fly.
I got the base version for $999, and let me tell you those batteries are $129 a pop so the fly more version at $1,199 is worth it on the 2 extra batteries alone, forget the charging station and the carry case those are just free extras
Brother, highly suggest you normalize your video volume.. I'm on high volume cause your voice is soft and my ear ripped at 1:30 🥲 when the prop noise kicks in
I’m hearing conflicting information from early beta testers. Can you tell me if you’ve tried goggles 2 and RC controller 2 on the Avada2? I know they are 03 but reviewers like Joey Helms is saying they work.
I haven’t tried per se. It is something I will try. My Contact DJ said that it is possibly coming. They just don’t want to over promise something that can’t be effectively delivered. But the fact that they will be selling the drone independently to me means that yes it will be officially supported
@@AirPhotography nice. Also I just saw potatojet say the same thing. He said Dji told him about a month or so and a firmware update will add compatibility. Fingers crossed
I owned a mini 4 pro. I was told by DJI support that the new goggles 3 will work with the mini 4 pro. But not together with the RC 2 controller that comes with the mini 4 pro. Any thoughts on that.
@@bonezbag1 support only reads scripts. They don’t know. We now have better sources inside dji stating that rc 2, goggles 2, will work with Avata 2 with a firmware update in may/june.
Fly more used to mean 3 batteries. How do you get "fly more" with 1 battery?? 😆 In terms of sound, air screw 3 blade on avata sounds the same as avata 2.
I think they just referred to it being complete with goggles and controller. But I agreed is confusing because the other fly or kit has three batteries.
The avata 2 is basically 100% non repairable. It's almost impossible to change motors like people do with the avata. If you crack a prop guard, you're gonna have to send it in for repairs.
DJI moves at the speed of light…there’s never been a tech company that makes their previous products obsolete so quickly…and NO, nothing from the Avata 1 is compatible with the Avata 2…
You lucky stuff. You must be in hog heaven. I’ve heard you say many times that the Avata is probably your favorite drone. There is no way I can do with out this drone. All I have to do is figure out a way to pay for it without the “old ball and chain” finding out🤦♂️
U hit the water & there fried. They still not also I'm prove in 10 years.. every one fly over water So why they not make them water proof. Hahaha money they want u to hit the water
Probably 5th video I'm watching on this drone release and you have by far the most useful information. Excellent video. Thx!
Wow, thank you very much. I appreciate that.
Same I coronet decide with Dji to buy but I’ve chose this one ordered it today can’t wait to use it
This video sold it to me cheers hey
Thank you for the review Shawn, The Avata 2 looks very tempting!
Great review. Thank you for showing that the Goggles 3 can be used with the DJI Mini 4 Pro. I ordered the Goggles 3 to be used with my Mini 4 Pro and Air 3.
I'm wondering what is the usage case for these drone models you have? Thanks
I just bought my Avata 1. I wish you had made a review as complete as this review.
It's not too late. take it back for Avata 2.
Excellent review as always. I would also like to congratulate you on your perseverance and the weight you have lost. An inspiration to many people well done 👍
Thanks a lot for this comprehensive overview 🤙🏽
My pleasure!
At 14:10 you said that you can use the goggles 3 with the Air 3. I watched on another video that this requires your cell phone to be tethered to the goggles while flying. Can you confirm?
No, it does not have to be. You can fly with the motion 3 or the RC 2 or RCN to controller. But you do not need it tethered
You can tell that the entire DJI R&D team use and love drones as much as we do. It must be a dream job👍😄
Indeed.
They have to lol!
I am so tempted to get this. I've only used the mini 3 and 4 pro and love it.
Great review thanks, ordered mine today can’t wait
Hope you enjoy it!
Great review Sean - long time follower; you are looking amazingly good too; hope all is well.

...btw, Shawn, ur looking hip 'n hapen'n, looks like a 2nd BMX bike review channel might be in the offing ;). LOVE IT !
Picked up mine this morning at Best Buy and I'm in love with all the new features. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Shawn.
That’s awesome. Enjoy.

I love the original Avata. As I mentioned in the video was probably my all-time favorite drone. And I’ll continue to fly it still as well.
Thank you for a very concise review. You went over things that other people are just not even talking about was not a puff piece but very informative.
Thank you I’m glad you enjoyed it
Hopefully they fixed the propeller snapping issue
From what I've read, the rear cameras are for stabilization in proximity to the ground and behind, not for obstruction avoidance.
Can you use your phones for all those controls?
Good first look Shawn
Great video. Been following you for a long time. Does the goggles 2 work with this one? And also does the motion 1 work with it?
Saw other videos where they say that they will be compatible in future updates.
Not at this point will have to wait and see what DJI does with firmware

Great information. Thanks
Looks awesome!! This is probably an extremely beginner question but is there a control to zoom in the camera? or is it just permanently fixed at that zoom level?
Indeed, there is no option for zooming on this particular drone, but that can be done while editing
Another great informative Video ! Nice 👍 Cheers
I like how I'll be able to use with my air 3 as well. I've been waiting long enough to get into the fpv world today I placed my order
That’s awesome. You’re gonna absolutely love it.
Another amazing great video! Thank you ❤
DJI is making me a very poor man.
Same😫
😅 me to

Excellent review, oh and did you go to your Aunt's to see the eclipse?
Unfortunately, no I did not. That would’ve been a great spot too, the park isnt open until May.
Can I use the rc2 with the avata 2
At this point in time, it is not compatible but firmware can change that pretty quickly. I will make updated videos when that happens.
No portrait mode?
No, unfortunately not. You can do that and post. Maybe they will add that with a firmware update similar to what they’ve done with the air 3
Great review as always, sadly though you've just lightened my pocket 🤣😂
Yikes. But enjoy your new drone. Life is short.
I read somewhere the avata 2 had head tracking too.
will buy it!
Just checked the price. The bundle with the extra batteries was not too bad, actually. Does the headset fit over glasses?
No, they don’t really fit over glasses, but the dials do allow you to dial in your prescription. I have a pretty strong prescription and a stigmatism. And they look great for me. Just by adjusting the dials.
Can I use the motion 3 and new headset with original avata?
As of right now, no but that could change with firmware
This Avata 2 might get me into FPV🤪😄
The Avata 1 sounds like a bunch of screaming banshees! Jeez!
Can it be paired with fpv controller?
There is a new FPV version three controller.
very nice!
Thanks!
THIS VIDEO WAS SIMPLY OF THE CHAIN! ALL THE OTHER VIDEOS I'VE SEEN FALL WAY SHORT IN COMPARISON! SIMPLY AWESOME 👍🏿
Appreciate that

I’m not sure, but I’ll look into it
Does Avata 2 have to be registered with FAA ?
I do believe so yes.

Like the comparison
Is it C sertified? As it is over 250gr
I am not sure on that. I’ll look into that information.
