Thank you so much for watching! It really does mean the world to us! Please give this video a thumbs up as that's extremely important to us (and it also encourages UA-cam to suggest it with other viewers who might be interested) and please leave us a comment too - we’d LOVE to hear from you. R&H x
Your wife is brilliant, I really appreciated her input. She does a wonderful penguin walk. I quite enjoy rough seas when the ship is moving up and down, I think I would have slept like a baby. I am sorry you had seasickness.
Yes when glaciers “calve” it does make a noise cracking. We saw some in Alaska. Lovely video as always, many thx. We always enjoy them. Even though we have no yen to see Antarctica.
I've loved watching your videos about this cruise. It looked amazing and is definitely on my bucket list now. Thank you for constantly providing such incredible content. Your videos are so professional and wouldn't look out of place in a telly documentary.
Thank you so much for sharing your expedition with us! Aurora looks great. Lots of choices to research. Do you think you will do another Antarctic trip that includes the Falklands?
@@visitwithus - Thanks for the response. Currently researching Antarctic voyages and will definitely include Aurora in my list of possibilities. Hoping you will do a Lindlad/NatGeo voyage and post your impressions of that.
Thank you so much for making and sharing this video. We are looking to book a trip on the new sister ship of the Greg Mortimer (Sylvia Earle) and this really gives us a great impression of what it is really like!
Amazing video and really quite scary with some of the wind and waves in the Drake Passage. I have thought about doing the Antarctic, but, from the last few videos I've seen, I probably will not. We just returned two weeks ago from our Galapagos cruise with Celebrity and a week in Peru for Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley and that is about the most adventurous my wife can do. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Thank Lou. Yes, Antarctica is not a trip to be considered lightly. Although these days you can fly both ways and the flight is actually extremely pleasant. :)
Fantastic - informative, down to earth and from the heart. Love it. You just tipped me over to booking a cruise with Aurora Expeditions. 20 days on Sylvia Earle. We can't wait. Thanks for vlogging.
Thank you for watching Tony and we're so jealous that you're doing a 20 night cruise with Aurora. What a fabulous adventure you'll have. We can't wait to sail on Silvia Earle. She looks a stunning little ship. :D
Hi guys. did you witness any iceburg Calving like you would in Alaska and if so what did the scientists think about it? I know calving is a highlight in Alaska but i'm assuming the scientists would see it a a very negative phenomenon.
From Antarctica to cruising the Mississippi River - you & Helen really get to enjoy the best that cruising has to offer (I’ve heard the glaciers calving in Alaska - it does sound like thunder - I’ve actually looked up - thinking an airplane was overhead - I just caught the end of the giant hunk of glacier falling into the water - lol)!!
Haha! Yes, the sound of a glacier is something I'll never ever forget. It's so powerful! And yes, we try and go on the most varied adventures possible so expect more interesting places. :)
Just got back from Antarctica. By the looks of it you had a pretty typical experience (something in between Drake`s shake and lake). It could have been a lot worse.
Hi Rich and Helen. Enjoyed the series a great deal. If you want more Antarctica go to: (Gone Venturing), here on YT. Viktor worked at the South Pole and McMurdo Station and he has a huge series of videos from both locations, and coming and going from the White Continent. Thanks for the work. You stand in a very select group of explorers now.
Hi Jeremy. Thank you for following along. You know by now we like to try the more quirky cruise adventures! Will definitely check out Gone Venturing. Thanks for the tip. :)
Beautiful video. However, the most incredible thing to me is people on zodiacs in the Antarctic wearing surgical facemasks for Covid. Until now I thought I’ve seen everything
There was option to join either snorkelling or kayaking groups instead of the main excursion groups (these did cost extra and you had to sign up for the whole cruise rather than one or two excursions). Thanks for watching 👍

You two are brave adventurers. You captured the beauty and raw power of Antarctica and the seas.
Thank Wayne. First time we've ever been called 'brave'. I'll take that, haha!
It was super nice to have free Wi-Fi on this trip, stayed in touch with family the whole time.
Agreed. I think that should be the norm, especially on the smaller more upmarket ships like this one. 🙂
I've been there before as a crew mv greg mortimer 2019 ago,
Its such kind of amazing expeditions😍missing that moment
Very soon I will work there as a crew member. How many people live in cabin?
@@p5302 which department you are?
Mostly 2 people in one cabin, but if you're head department you will live in a singgle cabin

Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for sharing. This itinerary is one of my top bucket lists
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching. :D
Stunning... All four Vlogs are absolutely stunning.
Thank you Karen. We loved putting these together so glad you enjoyed them. Have you seen our Galapagos series? It’s one of our favourites too. 😊
Watching from Ireland brilliant video ,really enjoyed that journey .
Awesome, thank you ☺️
Oh Wow WOW, quite lovely, thank you thank you😊🚢
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for joining us! :D
Wild seas. Not sure I would have been in such good condition as you. Those mountains we spectacular.
Well, it took an enormous effort just to film that bit on the bed. I literally couldn't even sit upright without a huge wave of nausea.
Stunning, simply stunning....2024 it is then.
It's not the most relaxing trip you'll ever take but it IS one of the most unforgettable. :D

Thanks for watching 👍
We’re hoping to get to Alaska for the first time next year 🤞
A Norwegian design used on supply ships for oil platforms. Ulstain has made a good job with this
Yes indeed 👍
Thanks for watching 😊
Wow , such a good Video and narrative . Thank you 🙏
Aww, thank you 😊
Thanks for watching 👍
Richard, try the Scopamine patches, work a treat
I was going to get some patches but I completely forgot! No doubt they would've helped tremendously. :)
😳🤔😲😮👀👍❤️😊
What an experience!
Yes it was! Thanks for joining us. :)
Wow! Great video
Thank you 😊 And thanks for watching 👍

Thanks for your kind words Rob. We try our best and don’t just throw clips together. Glad it’s appreciated. ❤️
Wait, you didn't get off at Port Lockroy?
Thank you so much for sharing your expedition with us! Aurora looks great. Lots of choices to research. Do you think you will do another Antarctic trip that includes the Falklands?

This looks fabulous and makes me want to book a trip now (waiting for 2024 bookings to open). Cannot wait. Life is too short.
Thank you 😊

How exciting 🤩 Hope you get to sail on the Sylvia Earle - we’d love to hear how you get on.

Really enjoyed this series Richard, would love to do it one day.
Thank you for watching all the way through Paul. :)
I would hate to be in a hurricane in Antarctica, you must feel like Captain Scott. Brave people.
It was the strongest wind I have ever experienced and they still kept the decks open! Only in Antarctica!
Fantastic - informative, down to earth and from the heart. Love it. You just tipped me over to booking a cruise with Aurora Expeditions. 20 days on Sylvia Earle. We can't wait. Thanks for vlogging.

No, we didn’t see any carving. We heard some rumbles but never saw any carving, but like you say probably a good thing.

Hope you enjoyed Antarctica 👍
We sail thru The Drake lake, mostly smooth sailing.
Great video however I guess I could be called a Princess because this type of cruising is not on my bucket list
Thank you and thanks for watching even though it’s not your preferred type of cruise 👍
2 hours on the Zodiac? Thanks for that detail as i do go to the bathroom a lot in cold weather
It’s not mandatory. Actually, no excursion is. You’re free to choose the ones that suit you. 🙂
@@visitwithus I ca imagine i will still Join. Just have to not drink a lot during that day haha. Both of you have an amazing life. Good for you.

What time of year was your cruise?
We sailed in early March - the penultimate expedition of the season.
Thanks for watching 👍
Why does Helen pack at least 3 wooly hats, when you only need one. Nice though. LOL
My hat is fashionable in all scenarios that’s why. 😆😉
@@visitwithus I was just thinking that I would not take up the extra space up in my case. Glad you had the room. Great video.
Beautiful video. However, the most incredible thing to me is people on zodiacs in the Antarctic wearing surgical facemasks for Covid. Until now I thought I’ve seen everything
Thank you! Well, the protocols were still in place at the time we sailed, regardless of where you were in the world. It was a bit weird though... :)
Snorkel in the Antarctic?
