Thank you!! I LOVE CALICO PRINTS! To me it's so subtle, I forget it's print! lt coordinates well with the wallpaper and sheers! Thank you for being here!
Those curtains look gorgeous in the little girls room. Omgosh, they are stunning. You did an amazing job, Gretchen. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.❤️
My childhood bedroom had sheer curtains and a pull down blind. Glorious! They felt pretty fancy to me as a child They had ruffles along the inside and bottom edge and were almost always tied back. Yours with the lovely floral accent are wonderful. And I love that delicate print you covered the cornice with
Such a sweet lil room you’ve created! Love your videos and thank god I’m not the only one measuring with an eye and a half 😂 🫶🏼 thank you for sharing 🧚🏼💫
Thank You I really think they brought the room up a couple notches!! It really softened the look of the room from childish to "GIRLY"! THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!😊💖
Ooh yes Gretchen they are beeeaaauutiful, I absolutely love that type of lace you’ve used, and what we call a pelmet the fabric you covered it with is so pretty too, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
Your choices for these curtains are absolutely LOVELY! I agree with you about synthetic fabrics, but there are times when making an axception is the correcct way to go. Brava!!!
This is such a wonderful little girl's room. You have come a long way in your videos. You should be so proud of your channel! Thank you for a great, rewarding experience each time. You are such a delight!! Lina
Thank you so much Lina! I truly appreciate your encouragement and support! I so grateful for this platform and my opportunity to share!! Thank you again for being here!!!
What a coincidence. I just made curtains from a bunch of synthetic material-velvet, no less. And I found out something really great. When I went to glue these things to the wood, I used contact adhesive (aka contact cement) like E6000 or (better brand in my opinion) Gorilla contact adhesive. You have to be patient and let it set. But it is rock solid when it does. I could not pull this material off on an experimental piece I did first. And, this adhesive does not bleed through. You can't use it to make pleats, but for adhering synthetics to things, it is amazing. But I am trying out this aluminum tape as a new way to make pleats because I cannot stand the glue method. So messy and sometimes the glue shows. Uck. You are a braver man than I gunga din. It all looks great.
Aw man you got me all excited when you said there was unfinished business in the dollhouse. Here I was pulling up my chair ready for some juicy dollhouse gossip! But nope you got us making fancy curtains for the girls room instead lol. I hope those dolls said thank you for making their room so pretty for them
They're perfect!!! I just love that combination of pale pink and beige/brown, which you pick up with the ribbon going along the wall, too. It's such a pretty, delicate blend. I have the same dilemma--polyester is not good in so many ways, but sometimes they make it soo pretty! The design on the sheer curtains is divine!! ♀️🤎♀️🤎♀️
Thank you Sienna Flower! I am really happy with the result! It looks so soft a delicate! Just the way a little girls room should look! I appreciate you for watching!!
Thank you Virginia! I was really pleased by how they turned out too!!I was really glad to get those curtains up. I've been needing to do that for a year!🤭💖💖💖
Gorgeous! I love the taupe trim, although you could have painted it pink if you really wanted a different color. I've painted thread, trim, and fabric for minis. You can even seal it to bring some shine back.
Hey Shyra!!! Thank you! Yes that is a Great suggestion!! I came to the conclusion that I really wanted the colors to be really muted and subtle. Mixing colors to create "PlNKS" can be Tricky if the shade is not just right! The pale pink velvet ribbon w' taupe trim along the scalloped edge of the cornice allowed the pink flowers on the sheers to be center stage!I l appreciate the suggestion!!!
Those curtains are so stunning and perfect for the girls’ room! Beautiful! That taupe trim really brought out the curves as well as rather calico fabric as well! The lace fabric is gorgeous too! You are so very talented in both construction and visual design! Today I worked in my 1:12 dollhouse. It seemed so “big” after having been working for quite a while in my 1:16 house! I worked on the children’s play room - it was such fun! I was able to use some leftover 1:16 kitchen pieces - frig and stove and dishes - to be the children’s “play kitchen” in the 1:12 house! Win/win! I could have arranged and puttered all day! Thanks for another fabulous video! Always so inspiring and instructive! Hugs, Kathleen
These curtains are absolutely gorgeous. All this restraint with glue application and measuring is making me glad I'm sitting down LOL But yes, sometimes less is more. I never thought of using a pair of scissors to trim like that. I usually fight with either trying to cut the fabric to match and then struggle to apply it or cut a million notches to curl the fabric around complicated edges. The urge to throw it across the room is a thing. The trim you used was perfect! Thank you for all the great tips and ideas.
Thank you Rachael!! YES! the urge to throw things across the room is REAL!!! I usually experience that when I'm making perfume bottles with tiny beads! I'm so excited to have that room at this stage of completeness. Thank you for allowing me to share!
These curtains and cornices are spectacular!! You’re doing so well with your new discipline as to measuring and gluing!! Do you find that using a tool to apply the glue is helpful? I usually use my fingers, and end up with sticky fingers!!😂❤️
Thank you for noticing Nancy!!!Yes I do, using a tool to apply glue is really helpful. But now I have to be careful not to squeeze out too much to use or it will dry up quickly!LOLOLOL!!! I end up with messy hands regardless! LOLOLOL!!!
Hello Gretchen, they are beautiful, I love lace curtains, the pelmets are perfect, the fabric and trims really compliment the lace and embroidery, the little girls room is so pretty 😍 you always make such lovely curtains, I'm looking forward to your next video, Best wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊
Thank You Diane! I am really happy about how they turned out 😊! I had been putting this project off for so long! 🤭 I'm glad to see it completed and looking Pretty! Thank you for watching! ❤️💖❤️
Hello my friend!!! I'm so excited for you and all the progress you're making in EGT (excessive glue therapy)!!! LOL 😂 Growth in any area is painful, but always beneficial❤️!! The curtains are so sweet and a beautiful addition to their room. I love that you've properly 'dressed' the windows! Windows are supposed to be dressed a certain way, and my grandmother always said that way is similar to how a woman dresses. I'll explain... The first layer is the intimates, the clothing that covers the delicate areas. For a window that would be the pulldown shade next to the glass. Next the slip, the garment that smooths the top layer allowing it to drape properly. For a window, that layer is the transparent or lace panel that lets the outer panels hang and flow freely. Lastly, there is the garment itself. The piece that fits, flows, and moves with the body, properly accentuating the figure. For a window, this would be the panels meant to accentuate and show off the beauty of the room. Now just as a lady isn't always in the mood to be stuffed and trussed, it isn't always necessary to fluff up a window. Your window dressing is the perfect example of a classy, dress down style! I'm so looking forward to this year in mini's, new friendships, and new UA-cam channel! I believe that this is the year of upward mobility, positive change, and incredible collaboration!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You're a warm, glowing light and an inspiring voice for so many!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
YES YES YES HELLO!!!! I totally Love the description your Grandmother used to describe ladies clothing layers! She Sounds Like My Grandmother! SHE was SO SERIOUS ABOUT BEING AND DRESSING LIKE A PROPER LADY!!! I LOVE IT! I am so happy about you starting you channel as well!! Congratulations!
How lovely! 🥰 I love how the trim on the cornices complements the trim on the hem of the curtains. You are doing great with your glue restraint! I felt a little called out about gluing just one section at a time, though. I definitely put glue on the whole piece, then have to add more glue to the first section because it's dried. 😬 I should find a local glue therapist to help me! 😄
LOLOLOLOLOL!!! Thank you for noticing my efforts in restraint!!! No lololol! i didn't know i was calling you out! I was talking about me! Lololol! I guess it was a case of Ouch or Amen!!! LOLOOOLOL!!!
