    I love how Brian directed her to put the card back, "Face down anywhere." and when she does he goes, "Oh, we need that to be face up." kind of like saying oh sorry my mistake, here I will correct that... all just to cover the trick. Love how simple and clean this is!

    This would be really fun to do with the barcode on the back of the deck box. I checked a few in my home and found that they all actually have the same setup. There's a break in the middle with five digits on either side.

    Hey Brian!! I have always loved magic tricks but I never thought I can do them until I was just surfing through the net and accidentally landed on one of your videos, BTW I have performed few of your tricks with family and friends and you've made me look like a star..
    But Seriously I have become your fan for the following reasons:
    1. first of all the way you present your videos is very energetic and funny which makes us not get bored at any moment of the video
    2. the detailed explanation you give for each of the trick
    3. the way you mention the odd scenarios which a person might face while performing the trick and also you tell us what to do in that case, just makes people love you more ;-)
    4. I personally like the self working or very little setup tricks, which you have lots in your channel
    Overall I have to say your channel is the best so far I have come across.
    Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and hoping to see more of the easier card tricks :-)
    Sorry for the long comment which I know might be looking like a kid writing an essay point wise :-P but this is the best I could describe.. So thank you once again. :-)

    Doing this stuff for people who could care less in the first place has always been your biggest mistake. Seriously, you should vet your participants better. It's not you, it's your participants. If you were doing this with me -- someone who is already mildly interested in this kind of thing -- you'd have someone who was all like, "Wow, that is so cool! Thanks for teaching me that, so awesome!"
    Pulling some completely random people out of a Starbucks or whatever just isn't doing it for me.
    Love what ya do, hate who you do it for. They almost always suck.

    Just remember, if someone asks you if you want to change your mind after you have picked a place. ALWAYS pick a new one! Most people won't.

      Always pick a new position? Seriously, why?

    • @bunkerbuster7743
      @bunkerbuster7743 8 років тому +2

      Most people don't switch so many times a performer will ask them if they want to change just to give the appearance that they have a choice. If the person then decides to change it can mess up some performers or give you another look at how they are deceiving you.
      Plus, sometimes changing your pick gives you better odds at winning.
      Search "Monty Hall problem" on youtube.

    • @sagitswag1785
      @sagitswag1785 7 років тому +8

      Bunker Buster when you do something to a magician to mess him up intentionally, its kinda rude. kinda like speaking out when a stand up comedian performs. I'd suggest not doing it when its just a magic trick performance.

    • @deonblack8139
      @deonblack8139 7 років тому +8

      True, but when a magician asks you to choose, you try to choose, when the magician asks you if you want to change the choice, it is their trap. If you choose to change it, don't worry it will make the trick more convincing. usually the force is in the handling of the crowd, not the handling of the cards. A magician should never offer anything they are not prepared to deal with.

    • @nicholascrea3709
      @nicholascrea3709 9 років тому

      That would ruin the trick. However, I am sure that 99.99% of the time the common person would assume that the card will be faced face down with the rest of the card (magicians always say, "don't let me what card it is.")

    Like Brian said, you say "oh no, we need the card to be face down". All you need to do is reverse the card once they've inserted it half-way into the spread, it doesn't matter whether they slide it in face up or down, you just say you need it to be the other way and do the move.

    Pretty sweet trick Brushwood! Thanks! When I first saw it I knew that move had something to do with it, but I thought there was a duplicate card or something. There is one slight issue though... what if some jackass puts the card like 2 or 3 cards from the top/bottom? Cause when you're reversing the piles it'll be obvious that their card's at the other end of the deck. So obviously you have to force or suggest the center of the deck, but how would you recommend that?

    You should keep the glasses! May sound creepy, but they're super cute! :3

    Extremely subtle move, but I think the spectator can figure it out after a while. Perhaps it would be better if used in the middle of another trick (as way to control a card) or if followed by a false shuffle. Anyway, congratulations.
