    Honestly, Eli's awkward-ish patter actually totally works. I'm invested in his character and actually have fun watching him perform. It's a weird dichotomy between genuineness and ironic-detachment. Love it!

    I saw Eli peek the deck, however the first shuffle fooled me, looked like a legit shuffle. but caught it on the explanation. Really slick, and a great flourish on the end makes it look amazing.

    Why not find the card in the deck using the key, then count x number of cards past it (the quantity is entirely up to you), then cut at that point and actually position the selection at a specific number then count down to it? You can still note the cards before and after and add that subtly in too. No one is going to believe that the card is at the number you say. It’s never proven so the premise falls a little flat and it’s just a fancy production of the selection.

    • @jaerivus
      @jaerivus 2 роки тому +1

    • @glenm99
      @glenm99 2 роки тому +2

      Probably about 1 time in 26. That's no problem, since the cards are still in order... if it happens, you can just cut the deck while you're leafing through it, in plain sight. Don't explain it, but make it look like, ok, I've memorized these ones, now let's get them out of the way so I can memorize the next ones, and tuck them underneath.

      When you did the trick I didn't see the first cut when finding the card, so it looked like you split the deck and swapped the top and bottom when you found it, then took what originally was the topmost card and bottom most card of the deck instead of the middle ones.
      But since you already looked at the cards, couldn't you instead memorize the first and last card before the cut and just show those so you don't have to do the swap?
