Maybe more ancient than old school but no time in our history did makeup like the 1980s. Glamorous!
I still remember my mother had mascara in a box. It had a small brush and the mascara was a dry cake that had to be wet with water to use. Long time ago. Also remember powdered toothpaste.

Small red sliding box by Maybelline? That’s the one I had in the mid 70’s.
Your mother was posh if she used water. I watched my aunt so many times when I was young, spitting on that block of mascara and then rubbing the brush over it 😆😁
how about really old school? any make up or skin care still around from the 20th century? stuff that's stood the test of time. love you!

Man, those WNW palettes really bring back memories! I started back into makeup right about the time they started out with those 10 pans, and that was also the start of my trauma healing journey from narcissistic abuse from my parents/family. Those palettes were all I could afford at the time, and thinking back, they were only $5.00!! My, how times have changed with pricing😮😢 I ended up buying quite a few of them, and still use on occasion. I'll have to get this one back out today...it's SO pretty ❤🥂💃
If only Soap and Glory would bring back their Kick@ss Foundation. Best fair, cool-toned foundation, ever. Performed beautifully, and no nasty jaundice yellow tones.
I recently bought a Wet & Wild liquid foundation in the lightest shade and it still had yellow tones---which I'm now trying to neutralize it since the texture is quite good. Lavender corrector easily turns yellow to gray so achieving the right shade is taking some time.
I have the opposite problem 😂 it’s never yellow/olive enough and if it is it’s too dark 😢

I used to use the Maybelline twin eyebrow pencils in light brown ( they are the brow pencils that came in a red component and very basic, no spoolie on the end) for my brows since middle school. I came across one in my drawer still in its packaging and it still works great!!
CoverGirl Clump Crusher deserves a revisit! Also, their single shadow in Brown Smolder could use some love.
Revlon lipsticks, CoverGirl cheekers blush, Maybelline blushes, and anything from L'Oreal are some suggestions.
Was getting a bit worried; hadn’t seen you post for a few weeks!! Glad to see you back. How about Cover Girl foundation ( from the early 70’s….) the original one. Also Maybelline great lash. Still a classic!

Maybelline’s Collossal mascara in the yellow tube. I know they recently changed their packaging, but you could still find the original ones sometimes at Ross, TJ Maxx or Marshall’s. My absolute favorite mascara for the last 30 years.

Try using the ulta eye primer as a regular primer, BUT don't use a lot. It works amazing on the forehead & around the nose, it keeps the face matte.

Old school makeup suggestion: Colorstay line from Revlon... creme shadow (the individual ones in the glass pot), foundation, concealer, powder, eyeliner (I love the colorstay pencils, gel pencils and liquid eye pen), eyebrow pencil, lip pencil, lipstick 😍 all that line is fabulous!
Revlon's blushes, contours and bronzers and super lustrous lipsticks are super nice 👌

I wish I knew what was going on with Rimmel, and why it's getting harder to find as well. They made consistently brilliant products that don't play! I still go online to buy their stuff.
In the UK you can buy Rimmel really easy. In Europe a bit harder but still. And there're new products launched. Unfortunately I don't know anything about the USA🙁

I agree with Rimmel. I enjoy and still use their scandal eyes waterproof gel eyeliner pencil. I have the black, brown and blue and love them. They stay in my waterline all day. It’s so hard to find the right liner that stays in your waterline all day.

It's funny, you put together such a pretty but classic look. Then that pop of a lip color just completely brightened everything right up - wow! I always stick with neutrals but this was a literal eye-opener! I think I need to pull out some of my own lip colors that I have stuck in a drawer and see what I might find!! I have just recently started taking time to get back into discovering new make up that’s out there but I keep going back to the oldies but goodies. Here recently I have tried a ucanbe eyeshadow palette. I know those have probably been around for a while but the one I got I am absolutely loving. If I use the right primer and setting spray it last a long time. I’m thinking about getting another cool toned one. I can’t find anybody on UA-cam that I like that really does decent reviews of them or tutorials for that matter. I get mine off Amazon. I hope everybody’s new year is going well so far. I would like to request prayers for help with my own soul. My mother and I do not have the best relationship and I am finding it very hard to keep patience with her. I don’t wanna start out like this. I have a new niece and it makes my mother‘s second grandchild and I don’t want any strife in our family But there are a lot of long-term things between me and my mom That I deal with on a regular basis. I am ready willing and able to pray for anyone else who needs it this year. Zabrena, your make up looks beautiful as always and I hope you and your kids and husband are doing well so far🎉

Very nice I love the cover girl lipsticks especially that line but no one ever talks about them.
Old school- covergirl clean foundation, Maybelline great lash, Revlon untold stories lipstick, Coty airspun, physicians formula mosaic blushes, or covergirl checkers, and no one ever seems to talk about L’Oréal or Maybelline eyes shadows anymore.
I still use covergirl clean foundation and maybelline great lash. Two amazing products!!

When I think of old school makeup, I immediately think of the eyeliner (red outer packaging) that we had to use a lighter to apply and the foundation that smelled like Noxzema. Who remembers those?
I prefer to use cake eyeliner in brown. Can you suggest a good and lasting one available today? Years ago I used Revlon or Maybelline.

I would love you to be able to find a dupe for the best light bronzer/blush colour wheel called "Gold Princess" by Rimmel. Rimmel discontinued it in my country. Every time I wore it I would be asked what I was using because it gave off a beautiful soft shimmery glow.
