The PROS vs. CONS of Visiting Sea World San Diego in the Off-Season (Family Vlog)

We LOVE visiting Sea World Orlando, so we were especially excited to have Sea World San Diego part of our California-trip lineup last fall.
We had never been to Sea World San Diego before, so the park an entirely brand new experience for us with new animal exhibits, new shows, and of course: new roller coasters!
Sadly, part of the risk you take when you visit a park in the "off-season" is that major attractions and roller coasters might be closed for "maintenance". Unlike parks on the East Coast that are closed during the winter months (and thus have built-in down-time to make their seasonal repairs), parks in California are open year-round - so their maintenance has to happen while the park is open.
Which simply means: we missed 2 of the 4 roller coaster credits at Sea World San Diego. Emperor, the park's dive coaster was closed (for scheduled maintenance - we knew this in advance), but Journey to Atlantis also never opened on the day of our visit.
That's just part of the "cons" in visiting parks in the off-season.
Of course, the pros would be: the crowd at the park was very light - meaning we never had to wait for any of the rides or attractions. We were able to see all the shows and get great seats (without having to arrive super early). And we were able to enjoy all of the animal exhibits - and actually see the presenters and hear what they were saying - without feeling like we had to elbow our way to the front of the crowd.
There are pros and cons to visiting a park in the off-season.
But regardless - we still had a great, beautiful day.
