@@Al.j.Vasquez I'm definitely with you here. It's easy to forget just how *massive* elephants really are. Thanks for this very enlightening video. It is especially interesting to me because of an experience that I had. My wife and I were sailing the Sea of Cortez, Mexico. We we about 5 miles off shore approaching the San Jose Channel. We were sailing along nicely at about 6 knots We saw spouting a half mile or so off. About 5 minutes later a spout blew all over us. Shocked we saw a giant Blue Whale right next to us. He appeared to be about twice the size of our 46 foot sailboat. He stayed calmly next to us ( which was more that we could do) for at least 5 minuets........Right next to us! His blow hole looked like a person could easily fit down it like 2 oval manholes! He then calmly sounded and was gone. We felt him very gently brush us a time or two. During the 5 minuets. We have never been so scared and excited at the same time in all of our decades of cruising the oceans. Indeed a most magnificent creature.

Seeing is truly believing, especially for something so unfathomably large.
Visual and verbal clarity unsurpassed. A teacher's inspiration; thank you.
All these comments about the increase in video quality, and I couldn't agree more. Keep up the great work!
Glorified blue gentle dolphins giants
SharkyPanda they are NOT dolphins, did you not just watch the video?
@@Belisarius536 this was NOT a serious statement, do you not understand the concept of a joke?
It’s an honour to be alive at the same time as these amazing creatures
Top Notch man, really appreciated.
I've been waiting for this channel... Thank you!
The massive amount of sheer knowledge/data in this video is in fact equal to the size of a blue whale. Really appreciate the work put into it.
i love how your videos starts with very calming sounds
One of the greatest video i've seen on youtube, this quality is amazing ! Keep doing this please, i know it might be more profitable to do shorter videos with less quality, but this kind of videos just makes me happy, thank you very much !
Thanks! And I will - dont worry ; )
This is the literal definition of quality over quantity
The level of production in this is just amazing. I've only watched two videos of your channel and I've loved them. Your voice, the animation, and the research. Just amazing, really.
The insane facts coupled with your relaxing voice made this one of the most interesting videos ive ever watched
I hope this beautiful animal's number increases year by year and never goes down.
Superb use of relative comparisons to put amazing facts into context. Extremely well explained. Nice!
I can only imagine that spouting's STENCH!
@@vladimirvlad2563 There was certainly no missing it.
I was like, "I really wanna watch an informational video on blue whales", and I saw this video. I had no idea how amazing it would be. Great video.

RIP Steller's Sea COw
Tarbtano am sad now :(
This is great, I hope you keep up the same quality even if it takes a longer time to make. Thanks.
Wow man this was a very comprehensive video, I like the visual aids and all the charts and diagrams. You did a really nice job with this and I am impressed. Keep up the good work.😊
"blue wales evolved for an amimal similar to todays house cat"
....... i been staring at my cat for 5min now...
Similar in size, though I believe they're unrelated in anatomy and heritage ;)
Absolutely fascinating. Love the thorough research involved in this lecture. Wonderfully presented, as well.
Subscribed, this is the greatest tribute to the legendary Blue Whale I have ever seen. Thank you for explaining about the effort required in feeding - people tend to imply that they just leisurely keep their jaws open and swim on autopilot.
I never realized how close we came to actually making blue whales go extinct :O
Wow I always love how much work you put into your videos!
Awesome Visual Effects. Love it!
Loved this, so much information
Great work on this video
This video was so much better than the title led me to believe. I was expecting a short video with maybe a couple diagrams. Did not expect so many fascinating facts, so well presented. The title is seriously the biggest understatement on youtube lol
