I’m shooting a budget bow and have no complaints. It’s a Blackout Sync from Bass Pro Shop and made by Bear, even came in a Bear box. I spent $450 for the ready to hunt kit on sale. I shot it as it came for the first year as it was my first compound bow. I have since upgraded all the components.
What I've learned from some pros over the years: put your peep in as the last step. First mount the arrow rest, set loop position (because its crucial for peep hight), paper tune and mount sights. Then sight the bow in at 20 without a peep. Slide the string material in the middle of the bowstring up and down and use it quite like a peep. Sounds odd but it works. Gives you the Ideal peep hight and s more forgiving setup.
I picked one up earlier this year and love it. Hoping to get an antelope with it next month.
Just built a brand new elite envision for my son for around $1100. We put an EZ V sight, limb driver gen 7x and an elite stabilizer quiver and a dozen arrows. Nice bow though for the price you can’t go wrong
Great video! Looking to order the Alaskan XT in a few days. Will be setting it up to whitetail hunt in the deep south as well as get back into some 3D shooting. I can’t see spending 1500-2000 on a Mathews but to each their own.
Still happy your Alaskan xt??
Why are the cams on these bows not centered in the limbs ?
I have one and centershot is not lined up at with arrow, sights and rest... My Sights are adjusted all the way to the left.
Bow shoots a decent pattern but the arrows do a substantial amount of tail wagging while traveling down range.
I have the same issue with mine. Also, one of my top limbs is cracked.
I’m kind of regretting purchasing this bow. Hoyt torrex xt is a few hundred dollars more, but probably worth it.
@Louiethedog82 I'm saving my lunch money so I can upgrade...Looking at a Bowtech Revolt XL or a Matthews atlas.
You could just buy the rth package. Ready To Hunt package.
You definitely can, but the accessories are not comparable to these.
how do you think this compares with the Whitetail Maxx?
I don't own either, but I've been researching. If you listen to the Bear Archery Pod with Chuck Adams he talks about how the Alaskan and Whitetail have some similarities but it really comes down to your mission. The whitetail has a shorter ATA which is typically better for Eastern hunting whereas the Alaskan is longer at 33 ATA which is more typical for Western.
No bear paw ?????
Sanilda dragon 10 or Bear Alaskan xt
I would love to do a comparison between the two. I wish Sanlida would send me the dragon 10 to test out. There are some really good specs on both. I only have experience with the Bear and it is great and has tons of modern features. Up to this point I would say the XT.
I started with the Sanlida 10 …. I killed 2 nice bucks with in for being a starter bow I would definitely recommend and super quite ….then went to the bear species xt ….
I don’t understand why buying a budget bow and put on it a expensive sight. Nonsense
I'm stuck, I have it and it's louder than other bows that are shooting next to me I had someone else shoot it so I could hear it too, I ordered some whiskers, could you recommend anything else??
