She sings with such emotion without doing all voice back flips and gymnastics like people today.

I'd move Heaven & Earth if I could to bring Karen back. Thank you Richard, John Bettis, the band. God Bless Tony, & God Bless our Karen Carpenter you are so Loved.

This is one of my favorite Carpenters performances with Bacharach-David medley, For All We Know & Sometimes - all with lyrics! I can now sing along and pretend to be part of the Carpenters band! This is my favorite Carpenters period with Karen looking so pretty with her long hairdo and Richard so young & handsome. So cool to see the entire band members change through the years during their concert appearances, and so versatile with all their instruments. No high-tech computerized sounds here.

Karen Carpenter was the best friend a song ever had, and Richard a close second.

When Paul Williams went solo and sang/recorded We've Only Just Begun, it was his voice that filled venues and sold records just like Karen's voice filled venues and sold records

Just listen to that Bacharach/David medley and listen to Karen's vocal delivery. Then realize she is keeping time for the band too! It is amazing. Plus, she just looks so comfortable behind the kit, like it is where she belongs, and she just looks ill at ease at the front. Of course, she always sounds amazing vocally, which, I suppose, was the point.
Thank you for uploading this amazing tribute.

You do realize the Medley is being Mimed?? Not all the songs on this BBC programme were live, some were, but the medley deffo is mimed, you can so tell, too many vocals plus its identical to the studio recording. But please dont think I am being disrespectful, I am a huge fan myself, she was amazing, and the band were, they were all perfectionists, and they had a great band, x

Cars must be very cheap way back in 70s to be able to put down $100 to buy a car in LA as the song says. Interesting.
