My dude is a manual focus and a double exposure fan…. That’s a true film fan if you ask me ❤👌🏼

    “If you’re a Polaroid casual, don’t buy this camera…”
Best advice I’ve heard today. 👍🏼
Just got mine yesterday and yes there’s a (re)learning curve for sure. But I’ve no doubt that 1) it’s worth the time, energy and film, and 2) I’ll get there.
Been a long time since I had my SX-70 back in the day. This camera looks to bring Polaroid shooting back to the front for me.
    Great video!

Thank you! And yeah, for sure. There's plenty of great, cheap Polaroid cameras out there. No one needs the I-2 unless they are all in on Polaroid

Camera doesn't have manual focus but you can lock the focus by half pressing the shutter button. Which is not the same but same results.

Yeah I've been trying to learn where all the "focus points" are. Seems to be in the center. Shooting objects somewhat close up has been the most challenging learning curve of this camera

I don't know what was going on with the Polaroid now series of cameras. People have reported they tend to overexpose. I actually have the one-step plus when Polaroid was Polaroid Originals that one tends to give me decent results. I like the plastic cameras just as much as I like the original SX-70. I grew up with the plastic one so I'm kind of used to those. Hopefully the I-2 wont suffer from the same build quality issues as the now cameras. Since the I-2 is not an SLR maybe a version with a rangefinder patch a good way to add manual focus to it. There were Rangefinder versions of the Polaroid Pronto.

I haven't had any build quality issues with the I-2 so far so hopefully that keeps up! No weird glitches or anything as of yet. I'm in the same boat, I'm appreciative of the sharpness of the I-2 and SX-70 but it's not essential for me. I'm just a fan of the polaroid look. I'm drawn to the 1-2 mainly for the manual settings and double exposure setting all accessible without an app

@@doublenegative4real The I-2 seems to get some of its styling from the SX-70 the way comes to that point. I thought that was a nice touch.

Manual focus wouldn't be useless since its not an SLR?

Yes haha great point! Another reason it really doesn't feel like the SX-70 at all I guess. I should have said that differently.

What is your experience with the life of photos, I have several polaroid photos at home that are over 20 years old and it is more or less a faded white area even though they have been in the dark in a chest the whole time... do today's films last longer? or after what time will they be unreadable???

A lot of my 7 or 8 year old black and white polaroids are orange now, but my color ones seem to overall hold up. Granted I've only shot them a little over a decade ago at the most. The current Polaroid formulation seems to be a little more stable than what Impossible Project was doing.

if you store them in a place with high humidity that could explain it. humidity kills all types of photographic materials, dye based ones, silver gelatin, inkjet, anything, it oxidises the image layer and it discolours it. High temperatures as well. humidity and temperature kills photographs faster than light. if the box you kept them on has high leves of acid in its composition, or off gases (like some types of plastic boxes such as pvc) the gases in that closed atmosphere will degrade images as well.
best to keep them in cold dry place with good ventilation, an acid free album (polaroid sells great ones for pretty cheap) on a shelf in a well ventilated living room is the best option for most people, but not too close to the ceiling or floor as humidity tends to be higher there). Archival stability of old and new polaroids seems to be better, except for the black and white ones, which turn brown with moderate humidity leves, but there aren't any in depth conservation studies on any of them
