Adding my voice to the chorus: THANK YOU-watched this and fixed it in under 20m. You've saved all of us thousands of dollars! Great video-everything ya need to make the fix, with no extra fluff. 🔧🔩
Also, googling around, I see that thousands and thousands of people have had this same problem. Come on, Nissan, why can't you just make that one little part out of metal?!

I was thinking the same that about that part, I'm no engineer but I don't see how they ever thought that plastic piece would ever stand up to many years of usage. It should have been metal.

My drivers door handle broke 2 years ago and paid a garage mechanic $125 to fix it. After watching this video order the part from amazon $15.00 and fixed my broken passenger door handle. I couldn't figure how to unhook door light on the bottom of the panel so I turned the panel up sideways as not to damage the wiring. Very simple and so much cheaper than the dealership fee, Took about 20 minutes to complete. Thanks for the video it was a a lifesaver!!!

Thanks a lot for this video, I just changed my handle under 30 minutes, tools put away and all. The video is very clear. I did order the $5 prying tool from Amazon, well worth it, not a mark. It took longer to find all the tools in the garage than actually changing the door handle. I didn't unplug the bottom light, I just kept the panel in place with my knee while I was swapping the handle and screwing it back on. For all women feeling intimidated by this, go for it, it's much simpler than it looks. I've never done car stuff before. I had the video next to me in the car on my ipad and followed along. The bottom of the door requires a good pull, he makes it look like it just comes out. I watched a couple of videos and it was pretty straightforward, not even one cuss word!

Thanks for posting this. It gave me the confidence to give the replacement a try. Watching the video helped a lot. The most difficult process was putting the door panel back in place. I couldn't find a clear explanation in your video or in anyone's explaining how to get it aligned before snapping it in. I eventually raised the side of the panel closest to the rear of the car by more than six inches, and then I was able to slide the alignment pieces (near the mirror) together. For those of you who haven't completed this handle repair, take note of that. Also, the video makes it look very easy to remove the electrical plugs. Yes, they are easy to remove, but you can't just pull them apart unless you press on the small release tab. A screwdriver and pliers help a lot.

The dealership quoted me 350 so may whatever deity you believe in bless you. If you do not have a deity I wish you health, wealth and happiness. Thank you!
350 is not outrageous but it broke a week after I bought it so I really don't want to give them anything more. For anyone in Nashville that's curious I bought the car from Action Nissan. The first car other than a Ford I've bought since the nineties. My granddad is rolling in his grave with laughter saying I told him they were flimsy.
Thanks again for the video and enabling comments so I could get that irritation out
