Great job! We followed your directions and we had the same piece broken. Ours was in 2 pieces so we Gorilla glued those back together and waited 24 hrs. before continuing the fix. Zip ties worked great. We reinstalled the visor and crossed our fingers. Hopefully it will hold for a long time. The toughest part was getting the cover off to get to the screws. Even though we were careful we still ended up breaking the cover in 2 places. Gorilla glued them back on and waited 24 hrs before reinstalling. The cover snapped back in place. Thank you for posting this video.
Paid the dealer 275 to fix dangling driver visor. One week later the passenger visor did the same thing. This video saved me hundreds. Thank you for taking the time to post. From start to finish it took me less than 15 minutes.
Robert - that was an awesome video - you have saved us over $500 Australian dollars for new ones or a trip to the wreckers,! The video shows exactly what we found and the cable ties went in just as shown. Love the tips on being patient and easing the visors open - very useful. Really appreciate the time you took to make video.
Hello Robert, just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate this video on the Nissan visor repair. My Nissan had the EXACT issue with almost the exact break in the clip. After watching your video I was able to duplicate the repair with the zip ties. You saved me a ton of money and I'm so grateful for your time you spent posting this video. Take care and thanks again!!
Thanks job done. My visor was broken on the on the other side in side. re watched your video snapped the bit that stopped me fitting it like yours. works prefect.
Thanks, Robert! I just used your technique to fix my wife's pathfinder. There was 5 broken pieces of plastic inside. It broke such that the mechanism was on the same side as the vanity mirror. So I had to cut the plastic ring holding the mechanism in place so I could move it, carefully, to the other side so I could zip tie it up. Works well now. Thanks!!!
Cannot thank you enough!! It’s been driving me nuts, and the dealership (Edison Nissan in NJ) wanted to charge me $480 to fix with a bumper to bumper warranty because they weren’t unusable. Such a joke. Thank you!
Robert - thanks for posting; much appreciated. I had the analogous problem on a Nissan Murano. Due to its slightly different design, I had to use 4 small zip ties (instead of 2 'regular' ones that you used), and I had to rip stitches and resew the fabric back around the visor. I chuckled at your comment at 7:02 about the 'poor design' with respect to the wiring. Thanks again - cheers,
Thank you thank you thank you.. just picked up a used Pathfinder and this is one of the things the dealer did not take care of and I was able to do it in about 15 minutes. Great video!
After watching your video and seeing what mine might look like on the inside (2013 Murano), I simply drilled a hole through that area and secured with a nut, bolt and a couple of washers. Works perfectly.
Saw this fix for the '13 Pathfinder. Mine has the same problem and is a '15 and just slightly different than the '13, but still close. So, since the dealer wants $217 for a new one, I tried your method. Worked like a charm. A little bit off since the bracket didn't want to fit exactly flat, so the visor dosen't work perfectly every time but close to perfect. Thanks so much for posting this video!
Thank you for the video. If anyone else thinking of trying this fix, two things I noticed when I did it: 1) for the cover that hides the mounting screws, if you think of it as a D shape, the two side tabs are right beside the points, and 2) I used a teaspoon to pry open the two halves of the visor
Save yourself so.e trouble and order them on Amazon, they are 50 bucks for the whole thing. If you don't want to spend the money this guys fix is awesome.
Creo que soy el unico de mexico gracias amigo por este video me ayudo bastante en 30 min se arreglo el problema y mis tapitas también salieron en dos partes se quebraron pero las pegue GRACIAS
Thank YOU! This worked great and my wife’s visor works great now. Hardest part was removing the screw head cover - mine broke into two pieces but I was able to tack them back in place with a little epoxy. Too bad Nissan didn’t think to make the clip mechanism from the same material as this cover :)
Thank you so much for your video. It was right on point for my SUV. I have an Infiniti JX35. All the same. I was able to fix my sun visor with your assistance and zip ties. It was very easy. In my opinion, the hardest part was removing the screw cover. Saved me money. Thanks again.
are you kidding... man wow thank you so much. Literally the most annoying thing ever and this worked 100%. Everyone just be careful taking off the plastic cover and also taking apart the video itself but otherwise this is straightforward. Amazing. Thank you Robert
Thanks Robert, I managed to get three zip ties on mine. Heh, heh. Just for the heck of it I checked with the local dealer and he told me $300.00. Didn't even hesitate, I think he's heard of this problem before. Thanks again, much appreciated.
Thank you so much Robert after watching your video I had the courage and insight to have a go at fixing my sun visors . My only variation was that I also wired them as well as using the ties thanks again and please do more videos you are such a blessing!
Thanks so much 2015 Pathfinder visor is now repaired. Just took my time with being very careful and patient with the separation. One difference is that the arm was trapped by a piece of plastic, but I was still able to feed the cable ties through and pull them nice and tight. Thank you for your directions.
Thank you, Mr. Bencsko! I appreciate you taking the time to make this video. My little tab cover broke but that's a cheap part to replace compared to the visor itself.
Thank you. Had the dealer replace 3 of these and all 3 broke. This is the best how-to video I've seen so far. Was gonna ask if it was still usable but I had seen that it was.
Dude! Perfect video. I just fixed both of my visors this evening in an hour. Finally, they’re not flopping and are secure to the roof. Unfortunately I wasn’t quite soft enough and snapped a cap in half. I’d rather pay for a cap vs. two more junky sun visors. Thanks again for the vid, saved me a ton!!
Worked like a charm!! Thank you so much. Great step by step instructions, photos/video, everything. Right down to the size of the screws. You made this so easily do-able. I was so frustrated with that thing not staying in place. You are my hero!
Thanks so much for your detailed explanation and great videotaping. After paying for the driver-side fix at the dealership, got smart and UA-camd. Thanks for not having me pay twice!!

Great informative video. Thank you. After taking mine apart successfully I found the plastic around the metal clip you zip-tied was completely broken. Found a new one on an online auction site for one hundred dollars buy now. I appreciate the advice. Ps I laughed at your video as I am amazed at your ingenuity to fix this but hear the Smoke detector chirping in the background. I hope you had time to fix that too!
Thanks for the great fix! It worked on my Infinity QX60's visor. I'll never buy a Nissan/Infiniti vehicle again. Too many instances of sloppy engineering.
Awesome video. Had the exact same problem on my wife’s 2015 pathfinder. Mine broke a little bit differently but essentially I use the same steps he described in the video.
Mine eventually did break again just recently so it looks like I'll be out the $200. I hope they improved the new ones some over the ones I have but time will tell.
Came here to see how this visor comes apart. Im going to recover mine (the cloth is literally deteriorating) with suede to match the new dashmat. Very good video, Thanks!
Thanks for your video, had to make a slight modification due to how it was broken , but the zip ties work great on my 20014 Pathfinder. Looks like I will need to repair the other side soon. Thanks again for sharing your fix.
Thank you for showing this. I have this issue with my 2013 Pathfinder. Had I known about this issue and the inside door handle on the driver side front door, I would of never bought it. So very disappointed in Nissian allowing such poor quality.
Thank you so much Robert for your video, it was very helpful and very detailed. Again thanks for allowing us save about $180.00 which is the average cost in the Nissan Dealer. I think that Nissan should rethink the way the built some of the parts for our cars.
Brilliant. Fixed mine. There were certainly a few more bits of black plastic floating around in there than in your case but it's back in the car and hard up against the roof, yay!!!!. Will use very sparingly in future me thinks.......
Worked perfectly...hardest part was removing the screw cover without damaging it. Took less time to add the zip ties than it did to remove the cover. And the dealership wanted $155 for a new sun visor.
Well I'm glad this has helped some of you out. Mine eventually did break again and I will be buying new ones. I don't think there is enough good plastic around to try it again. Good luck
I have the same issue but with mine, I put epoxy in that gap along with zip ties so it is glued and zipped down. Hopefully, that helps prevent the rest of the tab from breaking off. I might even put a screw through the visor for good measure.
To get the screw cover off: Flathead screwdriver, not too small, pry gently at the midpoint of one of the short sides of the cover (left or right side) until the corner tab pops off. The rest is easy. Do NOT pry at the midpoint of the long side (towards rear of car); you'll break the tab there. You can see these tabs at 1:02 in the video

Just did this on my 2013 Infiniti JX35 ! Worked like magic ! Saved me 200$ ( CAN ) ! Thanks
This is by far the best how to fix tutorial for Nissan Pathfinder visor on youtube. Thank you, Mr. Bencsko!
Thank you! My wife was driving me nuts with this and I don't want to pay $185 so I followed your video instructions and it worked.

Just saved about $400 by watching this video. Nissan couldn’t even get a replacement right now because of supply issues. Thank you for this video!
Thank you!!! I found this video just looking to see how exactly to take the visor off my wife's 13 Pathfinder. I kept watching and was able to fix it!

Thanks for the great fix tip! I was able to fix the passenger side visor on my 2013 Infiniti JX35. The dealer was going to charge $300+ to replace it.

Ah my problem exactly lol
Thank you so much. Finally I was able to fix after trying so many nonsense solutions from UA-cam. Great job. Well done. Cheers man!
As a follow up, your tutorial did indeed help me fix my problem. Thank you! It worked exactly as you so aptly demonstrated. No more droop!!!!

Let’s goo I’m happy to hear that, I was looking for the jx35 too, thanks a lot for your comment as well 😊
I just saw your video and after years of complaining about the visor I decided to fix it myself! Thank you so much!!
Robert....thank you! I have a 2015 Pathfinder and both visors are now drooping.. Nice job showing this fix! Will be trying out your solution ASAP.
are you kidding... man wow thank you so much. Literally the most annoying thing ever and this worked 100%. Everyone just be careful taking off the plastic cover and also taking apart the video itself but otherwise this is straightforward. Amazing. Thank you Robert

Thank you, Robert! Saved me a lot of time in discovery. I don't know how we used to fix stuff before the Internet and UA-cam.
Thanks for taking the time to put together this video. I'm sharing it with my husband so he can fix my vehicle.
Just fixed mine!!!. Save me about 300 dls, You´re my hero!!! And completely agree with you! Nissan must have recall it!! Greetings from México!!
Thank you for this posting mine been going bad for 3 or 4 months also a common prolbem with crv Honda's..
Thank you. Had the dealer replace 3 of these and all 3 broke. This is the best how-to video I've seen so far. Was gonna ask if it was still usable but I had seen that it was.

Worked like a charm!! Thank you so much. Great step by step instructions, photos/video, everything. Right down to the size of the screws. You made this so easily do-able. I was so frustrated with that thing not staying in place. You are my hero!
This fix saved me about $400NZD. Thank you!! One thing I found helpful was to unsolder the wires to the light first by popping out the mirror.
Robert - thanks for the video. Used this on my wife's QX60 and worked like a charm. Great ingenuity!
I just did this in and the visor is practically behaving like new again. Thanks for posting this video!
Robert, I just fixed the visor on my +/-$20,000 Pathfinder with two zip ties worth approximately $0.20. WTH! Thanks for posting this video.
Great job on repairing the visor, I used the same steps on our 2013 infinity JX35
Thanks so much for your detailed explanation and great videotaping. After paying for the driver-side fix at the dealership, got smart and UA-camd. Thanks for not having me pay twice!!
You just saved me $200 and a ton of frustration!
I appreciate you posting this! Saved my father in law $200!
Followed your instructions and came up beautiful. Sunvisor was hanging down and wouldn't go back up. Was so annoying.
Thank you service.
THANK YOU for this. I was getting ready to spend $80 to replace my visor, but the ziptie method worked perfectly!

You are a savior! I had someone quote me $300 to fix!!!
30 bucks on eBay. Like oem
Thanks man! I kept putting off fixing this and didn't want to blow the money on a new one. Looks and works great!
Thanks I'm glad you posted this video. I was just on ebay pricing a set but you saved the day.
Amazing work. You just saved me $200 as well! There were all kinds of little broken pieces in both of my visors. Zip ties? Who knew? Robert did!
Thanks! It worked great. Nissan clearly has a problem with both the pathfinder and the QX60. I have the QX60 and it is exactly the same fix.
Thanks Again - works perfect

Thanks for the video!!! Took me less than 30 minutes to fix my floppy visors on my 14 Pathfinder.
Your instructions are so clear and precise, thanks Uso appreciate your time and support. 💯💙
Brother, you just saved me $128.00, Thanks
Great video, thank you for posting. Even more impressive that you did most of it one-handed.
Thanks for the great fix! It worked on my Infinity QX60's visor.
I'll never buy a Nissan/Infiniti vehicle again. Too many instances of sloppy engineering.
cheap shite
Awesome video. Had the exact same problem on my wife’s 2015 pathfinder. Mine broke a little bit differently but essentially I use the same steps he described in the video.

Thank you Robert! it worked perfect and saved a bunch. I've gone thru 2 already thats $99+ a piece. Thanks again!
Thanks for your video, had to make a slight modification due to how it was broken , but the zip ties work great on my 20014 Pathfinder. Looks like I will need to repair the other side soon. Thanks again for sharing your fix.
This fix worked like a CHAMP. Thank you, sir!
Thanks for taking the time to document this repair. Excellent Job! 👍
Worked like a charm. 2015 Pathfinder. Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you so much! Your video was very clear and easy to follow. You just saved me $200!!
Great fix. I had the exact same problem and It came out fine with the way you described. Thanks for posting this!!
Thank you for showing this. I have this issue with my 2013 Pathfinder. Had I known about this issue and the inside door handle on the driver side front door, I would of never bought it. So very disappointed in Nissian allowing such poor quality.
Awesome ! Just fixed as above - Seems like the design is no good and it just breaks . Thanks a lot !
Thanks!! I made some major brownie points fixing the shade on my wife's Pathfinder. Great video.
just fixed both of mine, thank you sir! saved me $500 usd!
Shut the front door...it WORKED! Thanks! Great work!
Thanks for the great clear instructions. Worked like a charm!
Great thorough step by step video. I'll be trying this fix soon on my floppy visor. Thanks!
Thank you so much Robert for your video, it was very helpful and very detailed. Again thanks for allowing us save about $180.00 which is the average cost in the Nissan Dealer. I think that Nissan should rethink the way the built some of the parts for our cars.
Very smart fix.
It just worked with my Nissan 2014 Pathfinder.
Thank you very much.
Brilliant. Fixed mine. There were certainly a few more bits of black plastic floating around in there than in your case but it's back in the car and hard up against the roof, yay!!!!. Will use very sparingly in future me thinks.......
Just fixed mine!!!! Thank you very much sir!!!! Ingenious idea that works perfectly!!!
Thank you for the detailed video! I just fixed my visor and saved some money.
Perfect! This is exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks!
Thank You , i followed your tube step by step and i fixed my car ,
Its really worked perfect now
bless you
Worked perfectly...hardest part was removing the screw cover without damaging it. Took less time to add the zip ties than it did to remove the cover. And the dealership wanted $155 for a new sun visor.
Well I'm glad this has helped some of you out. Mine eventually did break again and I will be buying new ones. I don't think there is enough good plastic around to try it again. Good luck
Robert Bencsko ... so this fix only lasted 10 months?
I have the same issue but with mine, I put epoxy in that gap along with zip ties so it is glued and zipped down. Hopefully, that helps prevent the rest of the tab from breaking off. I might even put a screw through the visor for good measure.
@@tray22so gluing with a gorilla or similar will do the job? How long did yours work for
Works great. Thank you for the easy to follow step by step instructions.
Thank you so much. Great step by step instructions, we followed your directions and it worked. We had the same problem.
thanks so much....as with everyone else you just saved me some money too. I can't believe how cheaply those parts were made
This zip tie trick fixed my Visor too. Thanks!!
Great Fix - you saved me a decent amount of money - thank you Robert!
Thank you sir, I just saved $162.45. Great video.
Thanks for opening up visor. Appreciate the clear explanation.
Thanks so much for posting this. You saved me almost $130.
Thanks for the video...i was able to save $200 by fixing it myself. Unfortunately my passenger side visor broke 2 years ago and I had to pay the Nissan dealer $200 for a replacement. :(
Worked like charm. Thanks for posting
Holy crap thank you for this video! This has driven me nuts!!!
Thanks! Unfortunately, this fix only worked for two months. My visor's plastic broke completely away from the part that was zip tied. Nissan needs to recall this piece of garbage.
Just got off the phone with Nissan @ 800-647-7261. They wrote up the complaint and gave me a case number for future reference. As of now there are no recalls for my vehicle. Everyone with a complaint needs to call this number and get the case number so they can monitor if anything is being done about it.
Thank you! NISSAN, this should be a safety recall. If I had a front collision the edge of that visor would jam right into my forehead!
I would've love to see how you took that cover off before getting to the screws. Having a hard getting mine off and I don't wanna break it.
Flathead screwdriver, not too small, pry gently at the midpoint of one of the short sides of the cover until the corner tab pops off. The rest is easy. Do NOT pry at the midpoint of the long side; you'll break the tab
Thank you for taking the time to share your expertise. I was able to fix mine as well. Love UA-cam!
