One of the best movies of the 80's. I first saw this in the theatre by myself. The next week I took a date to see it. A few years later I rented the VHS for my wife. Love it!

"O SOL DA MEIA-NOITE". Tornou-se um filme atual, como não poderia deixar de ser.

Just wonderful inspirational and makes one regret the passing of youth and fitness. How truly wonderful they are together. And the scene with Mirren, utterly amazing.
They DID do some amazing Modern Dance jchoreography. I think the purposely did this so that they didn't make iethe r Grejgory HInes or Mikiail Baryshnikov look bad....trying to do the other's dance style. Though I am guessing MB's ballet dance bakground would better prepare him for tap VS Gregory Hine's tap bakground preparing him for ballet.... Ballet. Is not recognized not just as a "girls dance style" but one that can actually make men better athletes in their own sports. Some football players are taking up ballet for this reason. For their footwork...light and powerful. Martial artists. Patrick Swayze had ballet training and allowed him to do some matial arts moves for Roadhouse. Had he not had ballet training it would have been so hard for him to fake.... jBrcue Lee said ballerinas would make the best fighters because they do have strength and lightness....and rhythm....just need to teach them how to develop power in strikes/kicks.
