I am trying to find a decent balance between the RPG / cosplay aspect and the gameplay of stalker itself - glad this video inspired you to maybe set-up a Hideout. But man - Renegades? You really want the hardcore experience, don't you? 👀
My current UNISG character has an "hideout" established in Bloodsucker Village (remember that one house with two dead bodies as static props?). Stocked it with some spare weapons and ammo, barricaded most of the windows, built a Zone Recycle Bin to dispose heavily degraded stuff plus a TV (I'm using the Real TV for Stalker Anomaly mod) and a radio for recreational purposes. It's not the safest option if one desires privacy and safety the most, but I need a place where I can stash my loot quicker if I can't reach Mercs' base in Dead City fast enough. And with how lively Army Warehouses most of the time, the loot is piling up fast.
Perhaps it's because of my own modlist that the fear factor is greatly reduced? I'm familiar with what addons I have in my game (but not the crashes they might cause). Also, this location can become a nightmare if you can't manage the unwanted guests properly when they come in with guns blazing
@@starioncostumes Yes I have actually.. Upstairs in the tall tower in Jupiter next to Yanov station. Even being hostile with Freedom they don't seem to clock me going in and out 👍
Great vid dude, new to your channel but love your in-depth analysis on this type of niche stuff, it's super refreshing for stalker content. In terms of hideouts, I normally play merc or bandit these days and there's a dope little shelter on top of the roof of the sport center in dead city. Pretty safe considering you've got the mercenary bois down stairs plus you get to use the Lenin statue for target practice. In reality it would be a pain to haul loot up there though, considering there's just two long ass ladders for access. Plenty of high rise apartments in dead city to pick from too.
Thanks man - i am really surprised my niche-content seems to interest so many people, but am very excited about that aswell! Dead City seems to be a good take - sadly, i didnt include the cut content in my analysis - but i should, i guess. The appartments are quite interesting places. There is one with a partially broken roof, where you would have an amazing recon spot.
Nice choices! I think there are also solid hideouts in Pripyat Outskirts, however getting there is pretty tough - either going through pripyat or through jupiter underground. And honestly jupiter underground is quite safe, unless you're playing gamma where there is a whole monolith squadron.
True that - but Pripyat itself is always ready for some nasty surprises. Once i stranded there during the night, 48 Shots for my AK left - and a chimera lurking in the streets. Big nope. Thats why spent the night in the appartment. >.>
Awesome video man👍. Gave me some good ideas on where to set up my hideout in Anomaly. I've always been establishing myself in Rostok as I have a technician, the 100 Radz Bar, and the Duty base nearby for all my food, ammo, health, and upgrade needs. But I've been wanting to branch out even though I like the comfort of having what I need nearby I wanted to get out of my comfort zone(heh). For Agroprom Underground there is an alternative entrance you can access. You'll avoid all the bandits but will have to deal with a couple mutants which isn't terrible but it's very close to Strelok's hideout. What's terrible though is it's near the military base so you may take some heat if you get spotted. This is mainly on Stalker Anomaly though not Shadow of Chernobyl just to be clear and there's no confusion 😅
Great it could help you out. :) There is one thing that bothers me with streloks hideouts review: I have no idea where the locked door leads to. It could be there is an easier way down there without the stress of fighting anything, a hidden entrance somewhere in the agroprom area. I mean - there is a reason why there is a door in that room. Also, strelok would have had a hard time squeezing all of his stuff through the pipe with the ladder >.>
the apartment at the end of vine anomaly is my favorite there's no way other stalkers could reach it, it has a great view and overall comfiness is well above 8/10 i think it's good enough to leave the game unpaused and go afk and use the toilet or something
@@Mamac2006 yeah but I just fear what might happen if you slip climbing that thing up... Ouch :/ seems like this one is a popular choice among stalkers!
For the longest time my hideout was the bell tower in the old church in the swamps. I hardly ever journey very far north since the majority of my jobs are just mutant hunting. I've worked really hard to stay on everyones good side when it comes to faction politics. So even though I am a Loner the Bandits, Mercs, and Army leave me well enough alone since I did some work for all of them at one point or another. The only guys I have to worry about are the Usual Renegades, SIN, Monolith.
The bell tower is a good location - good thing, there are no mosquitos in Clear Sky >.> Imagine how the swamps would feel like then... Sometimes staying out of trouble is indeed rewarding!
Hell yes Project Zomboid! I've furnished up the Rostok container as hideout when I tried out GAMMA a long time ago, felt nice having the proximity to traders and services but also very awkward with the amount of Stalkers passing by daily
I feel like the container is a good choice if you really value security and dont get in trouble with other people too much. And since there are enough containers nobody uses, i guess nobody will bother with a stalker taking one of them. Which items did you put inside the container? :)
@@starioncostumes That's a good point haha! I think I had a unrolled sleeping bag, gas lamp, loose backpack for stash and a workbench, seems the most recent version of the hideout furniture mod even adds weapon racks now 😮
I normally run 2 or 3 hideouts when playing stalker. In Garbage I'm underground, below the demolished building, Lost City apartment block, and Pripyat I just use the laundrette.
Garbage is a place i totally missed out - and that's a mistake, i guess. It's one of the better locations for stalkers who do not want to chill with duty all the time. >.> Train hangar is a good choice for example aswell! :) Do you prefer a certain appartment block in Lost city? I really liked the one with the partially open roof!
@starioncostumes I use the apartment with the partially open roof also, gives a good sniping spot and allows for alternate escape route if needed. In Yanov, you can at a push use the tower next to the station. It's easy to defend having only one way in and out, but also you can get door camped which isn't so good. Occasionally you have Zulu as a guest too, so it's not so good if you don't like company. I've also come across a few controllers at the dock cranes you mentioned, so that ruled them out for me.
The school basement in Outskirts. I've fortified it completely by using tables that I've placed in the many doorways. Nobody can get in. Not that stalkers and mutants don't try but they just can't get in. I've got everything down there: tonnes of supplies, bed, sofa, desk, coffee table, shelves, large stove, cups, plates, work bench, a lot of storage, radio, tv, lights and a save point (in the shape of a fire). As an essential bonus it's emission proof too! 😎 For STALKER it's pretty, damn cosy 🥹😍
Same for anomaly >.> And other mods aswell man. I think its a cool option. If you like it, you can do it. But you can also play without that. Its a nice additional thing for the roleplayers among us!
There is a simple plug and play mod I tried on gamma, which you just drop at the end of MO2 list, I believe it’s called “even more hideout furniture”. Has doors, walls, trophies and much more. You can pretty much build your own house or reinforce something with it. Highly recommend.
@@starioncostumes It is this building at 12:16 of a video. I play GAMMA and you can access trough a branches of anomaly tree or in GAMMA is mod that you can climb over fences and just climb on fallen staircase at entrance to the building. It is at top floor. The apartment already have some furniture and scientific suit in it.
There is a place a believe i'ts a sewer next the railroad closer to Yanov, you can access by a manhole, if you uses a mod that you can place doors, you can easy block it and has a blue chest stash in there
Yeah, by far, the best one is the container on Rostok, doubt that duty would allow a firefight in the middle of their base, also is center location to most of the zone, the merc outpost to close to Radar and its horros and monolith, the apartment in Prypiat its a one use fallback hideout, since monolith could track you there, or a mutant could use the apartment as a nest, the docks are just to open, and is a tin can
Regarding on merc outpost, this kinda depends on the "stage" of the story. Since radar is pass-through territory at some point, it might not be as awful. But yeah, you got a good point there: You have to sneak past Bloodsucker village and the Border to Radar - not a pleasant way home, especially not at night. But does Zaton have better places to offer than the cranes?
@@starioncostumes in Zaton maybe the Shevchenko ship where Spartacus is camping could be useful to set up a base... it has a lot of empty rooms and easy access to a vantage point on the ship's deck... One other spot i'd maybe pick is the tunnels that lead outside of the CoP bloodsucker lair under the Krug antenna complex which exit to the toxic swamp. I'd say the Ranger Station is a good pick but so far i noticed at least in GAMMA is that enemy Monolith/UNISG spawn there
I made a hideout at the top floor of one of the apartment buildings right next to the sporting goods store that mercs use as their HQ. Then again, I am a merc. I just wanted some privacy. One of the rooms I made into an armory and workshop (with weapon racks and stash containers) then made another a bedroom. Another room across the hall is a planning room for forays into the Zone. Another room as a dining room/kitchen. Lots of flights of stairs I can potentially reinforce with tripwire traps. There's only one way in or out though, which is both a good and a bad thing if I'm attacked. Still, who would come there when mercs live next door?
Good spot! Especially below the roof, since you can check on the streets. But i didnt include cut maps in this one >.>. Sure dead city is an option aswell! Do you have a favorite place there?
It was a blast, even though the lag was serious :D I will be in for the next one aswell! I hope you were not that guy in the tower that i nuked with the groza's nade launcher >.>
I never make hideouts in Stalker Gamma. Like, the most I ever do is to set up a few blue boxes in Rostok by the Duty technician to store all the loot I bring in from side quests that I do in preparation for the main questline and use the bed in that same room and that's it. I find all the other furniture and what have you, that you can craft to be all unnecessary bling that would not serve any purpose but would also make me spend money and resources to build it. I don't even craft the work bench, because the Duty technician already has one that I can access for free, but not only that, in Gamma, you can right click on the toolkit, click "use" and you can craft everything you need without having a work bench, so it's doubly unnecessary! I also don't get why anyone would want a hideout in Stalker, when you are welcome to stay at any stalker base that is of a faction that is friendly or at least neutral towards you and you will have most, if not all, the accommodations that you will ever need: a trader, a technician, a doctor, a safe place to hide during emissions, a place to get quests, a place to keep your loot without having to worry about someone taking it (in most mods), a bed to sleep, a fire place to gather around with fellow stalkers. Like, why build a hideout in the apartment building in Pripyat Outskirts, when you can just stay at the Laundromat? Stalker camps are more lively and atmospheric, hideouts feel lonely. Also the Zone is a dangerous place, stalker camps or bases provide safety in numbers. I get the appeal of a hideout, as a kid I remember how we played around and we were so much into building bases and what not, and I get that a lot of people get that feeling when playing Stalker Gamma, but I find it functionally unnecessary. Maybe for someone who's role playing as a really lonely stalker, then sure, but I just find the whole back and forth between a quest giver, the objective and then back to the quest giver to be such a hassle and imagining having to come out of my hideout, go to a stalker camp, get a quest, get to the objective, fulfill the quest, get back to the quest giver, get back to hideout with all the loot that I've gathered in the process to be even more of a hassle, it would just be so tiring. I just don't think it's worth it, but I don't know, I watched a video of someone who had outfitted the flat in Pripyat Outskirts with some furniture and had made it very cozy, so I could be wrong.
Depends on who your character is. If you are a known troublemaker, chilling at laundromat around military might not be the best option, same for duty. If one prefers the company of other soldiers in the few known camps, thats perfectly fine! My first spot was actually in rostock aswell, since it is central and had all the comfort you would want. But when i had to move further north, i needed an alternative, because i didnt want to return to rostock all the time to store my stuff. So thats how my other locations came to be >.>
Sometimes games are about creating your own fun. Finding something fun doesn't mean it had to be practical to the games progression, it just means you find it fun. Base building is fun
completely agree. Building hideouts in GAMMA is only something I started doing very recently because I needed something to make the game feel fresh again - and it really did! I LOVE my new hideout in Outskirts and the role playing aspect of having that place all to myself and not relying on anyone. I'm completely self reliant out there.
Wait... You can enter the cranes in Zaton ? If not, it's not a possible hideout at all. Same with Mercenary camp... Is it just imagination/fantasy hideouts or actual ingame practical hideout ?
Nope, you cannot enter the cranes :( I wish you could. But IF you could, those would be actually good hideout locations. You can enter the other locations in the video though, so if you have a mod that allows you to use rucksacks as stashes, you can use those places :)

@@mongooserina Bloodsucker village? Man, you are either very well geared or brave! But if it works out for you I'm not gonna judge
Perhaps it's because of my own modlist that the fear factor is greatly reduced? I'm familiar with what addons I have in my game (but not the crashes they might cause). Also, this location can become a nightmare if you can't manage the unwanted guests properly when they come in with guns blazing
I checked out the dock cranes in GAMMA as a base, however they're super radioactive so not so great if you need to change suits
Ouch - thats unfortunate! Gamma sure changes the gameplay and world quite a lot - have you found a decent alternative?
@@starioncostumes Yes I have actually.. Upstairs in the tall tower in Jupiter next to Yanov station. Even being hostile with Freedom they don't seem to clock me going in and out 👍
@@tosspot1305 That was my first hideout in CoC lol. The tower is a great spot for that!
Dredge Station on Zaton(where the stash is), no radiation, no pepole and emision-proofed. Lots of space and doors.
@@jalifish3596 A valid option as well - but isn't it a lot of work to barricade this thing?
@@starioncostumes its a room with door you could lock, i think it won't be that hard, just slap something on the Windows and you're good
@@jalifish3596 I need to check that one out then as well ! Thank you!
Also, strelok would have had a hard time squeezing all of his stuff through the pipe with the ladder >.>
the apartment at the end of vine anomaly is my favorite
there's no way other stalkers could reach it, it has a great view and overall comfiness is well above 8/10
i think it's good enough to leave the game unpaused and go afk and use the toilet or something
@@Mamac2006 yeah but I just fear what might happen if you slip climbing that thing up... Ouch :/ seems like this one is a popular choice among stalkers!
Checkpoint - Jupiter. That's where I'm at.
@@furiousfelicia5751 great place for a base! ✅
The bell tower is a good location - good thing, there are no mosquitos in Clear Sky >.>
Imagine how the swamps would feel like then...
It's one of the better locations for stalkers who do not want to chill with duty all the time. >.>
Train hangar is a good choice for example aswell! :)
Do you prefer a certain appartment block in Lost city? I really liked the one with the partially open roof!
@starioncostumes I use the apartment with the partially open roof also, gives a good sniping spot and allows for alternate escape route if needed.
In Yanov, you can at a push use the tower next to the station. It's easy to defend having only one way in and out, but also you can get door camped which isn't so good. Occasionally you have Zulu as a guest too, so it's not so good if you don't like company.
I've also come across a few controllers at the dock cranes you mentioned, so that ruled them out for me.
@@slingitsideways good choice man, I remember this place, since it's a nice location for some sweet screenshots
@@slingitsideways Controllers? In vanilla or anomaly? >.>
For STALKER it's pretty, damn cosy 🥹😍
@@MrStensnask Sounds Like you have half of an entire IKEA down there :D Did you see this location and think "That's it!"?
I wish Gamma had more tools we could play with regarding hideout crafting.
@@bappo2693 that's incredible. Thank you
I have a hideout in Pripyat apartment during play trough. For me the best hideout.
Man, this one seems to be very popular! Which appartment building is it?
@@starioncostumes It is this building at 12:16 of a video. I play GAMMA and you can access trough a branches of anomaly tree or in GAMMA is mod that you can climb over fences and just climb on fallen staircase at entrance to the building. It is at top floor. The apartment already have some furniture and scientific suit in it.
There is that small store in prypiat were besides main doors is seceret exit in basement that leads outside behaind apartment block in bushes.

I'd say the Ranger Station is a good pick but so far i noticed at least in GAMMA is that enemy Monolith/UNISG spawn there
Hey will you be going over how to put together a stalker suit? I wanna make a sunrise suit, and there isn't a lot of information on stalker cosplays

mmm rostok bunker stash sounds nice.
Yeah, right - there are a few bunkers. Actually there are many places in rostock we do not know much about, since they are not accessable >.>
Still, who would come there when mercs live next door?
i like to put mine in the basement of the flea market in garbage
Good one as well, especially since it's a central place that's also somewhat safe in comparison!
Personally I found the apartments in Dead city aren't bad
Good spot! Especially below the roof, since you can check on the streets.
But i didnt include cut maps in this one >.>. Sure dead city is an option aswell! Do you have a favorite place there?
Woah, saw the name of your channel and realised that I played the 100 rads tournament with you.

@@starioncostumes I was :(
@@Ashfired Can I use that clip in a Video? 👀 💦
@@starioncostumes sure!
