Have you seen the Shanty Boat Beagle Adventure series here on my channel? That was a 26 foot Lil hobo . I also had a 31 footer for a while, they aren't nearly as capable. Too heavy and dip in the front.
why do u need gutters seem to me they just make all the water pour on the front and rear of your boat Then down into living area LOL. Just let it run off.
The gutters actually do a great job keeping the water away from the boat Stan. If they weren't there, the roof overhang would have to be longer...which isn't a bad thing, just a different design. If I we've reroof the barge, I'll probably do away with gutters
@backwatersandbackroads the gutter could get destroyed but that would be easier to replace than wrinkles in the tin if you had more overhang also it could put you over width when on the trailer later on just a thought.

Any idea how heavy your boat is loaded?
@lrharrisonjr I can take a guess. Fully loaded (minus the scooter) maybe 4-5k?
Does anyone know if the great have a channel on any kind of radio system that they sort of designated their own channel,, here where I'm at backwoods Kentucky all of us mudders in four wheelers we all sort of used channel 17 on the regular CB and then different channels for the ham and for the other different types of radio, play come in real Handy especially on busy weekends and stuff if you need a special part brought in and usually you can get out about anywhere between 20 and 50 miles on a regular radio and they're not all the time somebody on the radio but usually there are monitoring the channels especially now with radios that are able to scan,, anyhow if anyone knows if they have a channel I would appreciate the info
Can’t believe you haven’t cracked 100k yet. Soon enough…. 👍😎
We just slowly crawl along ;) amazing we got this far
@@backwatersandbackroadsyeah buddy, I was talking about subs! Good content! Your pup puts her whole body into barks, like mine. Hillarious!
@@backwatersandbackroadsold Gus here from North Idaho…. Retired pharmacist, musician, and 8 year infantry guy… having a ball watching you two after a cancer struggle in 2018. Can’t thank you enough for the entertainment. I’m a sucker for travel adventures and dogs…. and rusty tin! 😂
What drives the decision to cross the gulf as to following the shoreline?
The gulf is very shallow for a long way put, and the tides can leave you sitting on the bottom for miles out. It's a challenge;) but nothing to worry about...you'll see;)
One of your better editing job ...a lot of work goes into these vids not as easy as it looks
Thank you for appreciating them ;)
Hey there port st Joe piggly.wiggly.. is great.
It sure is :) we loaded up there
Didn’t you already post the video containing your Gulf crossing? I’m sometimes thrown off by your real time posts vs your videos. Always great stuff, safe travels. 👍🏻
That was probably Mobile Bay?
You may have covered this before but what tablet are you using for your navigation and would you recommend it? Has it been working well for the trip?
It's some kind of Galaxy tablet I think. It works really good. Navionics is a must have. I can hardly leave the dock without it on! Lol
Hi what are your thoughts on a 8’x31’ Lil Hobo Houseboat taking on the great loop like you are?
Have you seen the Shanty Boat Beagle Adventure series here on my channel? That was a 26 foot Lil hobo . I also had a 31 footer for a while, they aren't nearly as capable. Too heavy and dip in the front.
Have you tried Carlsberg premium elephant pilsner 7.2%?
That sounds good;) looking fof it...thanks!
What tablet do you use with navionics
It's some kind of Galaxy
Do you have a map of your journey?
What app were you using?
For editing?
Navigation app. That showed your path and depth
@@DustyDave-ks8fw that is Navionics. Very useful.
Using rusted tin that way is almost more art than functional.
👍🐕🤗👍🇺🇸
why do u need gutters seem to me they just make all the water pour on the front and rear of your boat Then down into living area LOL.
Collect the rainwater and use it for washing, has to be cleaner than the river water.
@@craigdarby9533 agreed!
