Brenton, I know you think we are not all that interested when all there is to see is open water but for me, all that expanse of clear water and sky is so peaceful and calming. I really have enjoyed tagging along on your adventure. Continued safe travels to you and your first mate!
I've been trying to extend those scenes a bit longer for folks like you that enjoy them;) I'll keep doing it.
Like you when Benton says there's nothing interesting here , it's very interesting to hear him just talk in his calming voice and just explain tidbit of insite that he picked up the along the way, every perspective is different, the only time I was ever in that area that he's in now Crystal River area was I can't remember what storm or hurricane it was it was right around between 1975 or 80 I was just a young pup in all of that area had just been tore up pretty bad with storm damage,, and this was four or five months after the storm and you just thought man that place will never be the same again, and there he goes through and showing it just like nothing's ever happened there, you just imagine all the way up through time all the Indian tribes in all of that that been devastated with the storms through there,,
I have been blessed, just sharing some of the love I have received.
Thank you Ryan! You don't know how helpful that is right now.
I found this channel a couple of weeks ago I've been watching all of them up to episode 20.
I'm a new subscriber and REALLY enjoying your videos! Keep up the good work, your personality is so warm and generous, and I appreciate your relationship with WAVEY. I have been binging on your content for a few weeks. You bring massive JOY to youtube and nice to hear someone say "God is our protector" out loud. Stay safe and have fun. we love you here in Cincinnati.
Thank you. I'm glad you like our videos. Welcome.
love this video so much ! thanks for sharing it too * That shipwreck was awesome seeing it there for thye beach birds to rest on !
Hi guys;)
Those gas pumps with TV usually the buttons on right 2nd down is the mute!
And if it's not that one it is one of them.
Thanks
Like you said Brenton. That was a crab boat. most captains like to run 35 to 50 foot boats. With a ceiling to stack 2 to 300 traps at a time. Captain steers and pulls traps while mates empty, dump crabs, boil, rebait, set up trawl, and put back in water . Generally takes one captain and three crew. crab tutorial of the day, Lol😅
Time flies by watching your videos. So relaxing before heading out to the day job, thanks Wavey and Brendon. Not sure I will ever have a shanty boat, but your adventure sure makes me want one.
Shanty boat living is one of the last best lifestyles left in my opinion. You have a comfortable home anywhere you go.
Man I love living vicariously through you.
Mean old city officials suck. Your patience and easy nature is a blessing. Much healthier than anger.
I almost spit out my near beer when you pointed out the pool rules. I was shocked to see they left out that you may get wet. People. I’m happy Wavey survived her surprise bath. What a wonderful video Brenton and Wavey! You guys are the best!
Can you imagine being there when someone violates the splash pad rules Eva? :( barf!! It's like the hot dog eating contest scene from Stand by me.
@@backwatersandbackroads Oh boy…I just had to add another movie to the movie list, Brenton!

Tarpon Springs is my brother's home port. The marina on the left as you passed under Hwy 19. Every time I'm down visiting we take the boat out so really familiar with the area. Your shanty boat really fits in with the ambiance of Tarpon Springs.
It's a unique little town for sure. We really enjoyed exploring it. Coming up...
I was raised in st pete and did a lot of diving from Clearwater to crystal river. That wreck was prosthetic remains of a bird rack. Put there to collect bird S@#t there were dozen of them in the 60s leased land from the government. Many people built homes on them until the leases expired and they had to be removed. Great place to spear fish in the 60s
Thank you!
Wavy Gravy is having more adventure than I am, good on her. Thanks for another video.
Fortunately your Shanty boat is perfect for traveling in the shallow areas of the Gulf. Wavy is always so darn cute❤
Thanks for sharing the great adventures. 🤗💖🐕💖⛵💖🐬💖
My day and week just got better from another great adventure video ..thanks man 👍👍👍
Felt like less than 25 minutes. Very enjoyable and relaxing video.
Next one coming right up....
Cool. Great vid. The freedom vibe translates 👍
Wavey is the cutest puppy!! I love 💕 when she talks to you…I’m so happy to have found your channel
Your adventures inspire my hubby & I to run the St Johns River
Hi Lisa, I love hearing that. Wavey and I are out living on the Shanty Boat now on Lake Superior. Videos coming soon...thank you for finding us
Thanks! Please show a few more clips of what you cook/eat on the boat if possible! Happy Friday everyone!
Thank you! That is very helpful.
When it comes to spoiled dogs wavey has nothing on mine.
Been going to work with me every day for 11 years.
Most vacations to.
I've created a monster
It was nice to see you in an area we have visited. We took a boat out to Anclote Key to collect shells on the south beach! I was hoping you could get to shore but know the charter boat went to the south east side and had a big ramp. The captain kept her running, pushed to the shallows all the while we explored the beach! Tarpon Springs is beautiful! Looks like you enjoyed Brenton! Thanks for sharing! AllthebestRoy
Hi Roy. I've been having folks contact me asking what I think of your designs. "Have you seen this Roy guy up in Canada..." I always say "yes! Great boats. Good idea..." also been getting a lot of "you need to visit Georgian Bay" emails. I think I need to visit you buddy

So excited to see you have a new episode out. I caught up on all the other episodes n the great loop. Missed u and Wavy 😊
Brother I am still utterly amazed you are doing all of this fine editing on your phone. It's all really quite fantastic and entertaining. I'm headed out for an overnight trip soon and I can't wait! I love all of the new toys and additions you haven't been able to use quite yet. Some truly useful stuff you have there. Ya'll be safe and let me know when you are approaching Swansboro NC! We can at least fill up your freshwater tanks and make a dinner for ya if interested. Safe travels and fairwinds my good sir. Until the next time..... ✌️
Captain! You say you're headed out for am overnight on the Cdory? Send me pictures please. A buddy jaur bought a CD25 cruiser recently and he loves it. The last good deal on one too
@@backwatersandbackroads will do. I have like 4 or 5 fishing trips recorded in 1080p but it seems like I am a better adventurer theses days than a video editor. 🤣 Our dream boat it a C Dory 26 venture but God delivered us our beloved C-Shanty and we never looked back. Dropped her right in our laps 20 minutes from where I was fishing one night. Been looking a Dory for two years before that. We would love a shower and a realhead but we ain't complaining buddy. Let the good times roll Brenton. 😁👍
@Captain_Clark_CDoryAdventures best overall boats ever :) you couldn't have done better.
Love wavey
Damn, I LOVE this channel.
Thank you Bruce :) that makes me happy
I think the boat you past on the way in with all the people. It probably was a deep-sea fishing boat. (party boat)
Where they book and take out 30-50 people fishing for a1/2 or full day to fish.
Most port cities have them. You can tell by all the fishing poles on it.
Thank you! ;)
Tarpon Springs is another cool little Gulf Coast town. Some great Greek restaurants and bakeries that bake awesome greek pastries and such.
We call that the bird rack Good marker for Homosassa river coming soon. Good scalloping close by in summer months
Thank you. Any idea what is originally was/is?
Thanks for sharing the adventure. To old / lazy to document it.
I have lived & traveled on both a boat & a motorcycle. Enjoy both, in totally different ways. Life on the water is more laid back for "shore".
Great video Richelda and I spent a week at Kings bay lodge great boating area.
Tarpon Springs is probably one of the last working harbors I know of great for just poking around .
I love that dingy solid boat.
Alex did not to the beat of my knowledge work on the Anclote key light house I think I mentioned he did the St. Marks one and Boca Grande one which is also steal abd had to forge all the replacement rivets in his then forge in St. Pete it was one of the reasons that the national parks service liked using him he had virtually every skill needed for the tasks.
What a cool legacy to leave behind. Working on the original lighthouses;)
Loved it as always, good to see the big crossings are done and you guys are safe.
I went to Crystal River two years ago specifically to see the sailing scow that the Crystal River boat club had made. They have the boat building on UA-cam videos. For your viewership that are unsuccessfully looking for a barge, they might consider building a scow. It was nicely built and looked like regular carpentry skills and some money would get you a craft capable of doing the loop.
Poor Wavy 😂 nobody enjoys an unexpected bath. Thanks for the video!
Brenton and Wavey Hi🤝. Video👍👍. Удачи в море⚓🛥🌊🌅✌✊
Hi guys!! :) npnbet! (Hello in Russian I think) ;)
Sorry we missed your in Crystal River and Tarpon Springs. You missed some really awesome spots. … if you guys decide to come through again, call us ahead of time and will show you the real Florida.
There’s a very large Greek community in Tarpon Springs. Original sponge divers were Greek. As I said before, very cool city to visit.
Thanks for the video. Take care
Absolutely...stay turned ;)
Thanks for the ride it’s the reason I’m drawing up my Shanty plans and collecting materials. That’s going to be me someday in the near future.
Wavey I apologize for your Capt hes not fooling anyone he dropped you on purpose you can poop in his cornflakes next time he’s not looking.
Thanks Brenton great episode. God bless
Wavey is an infomercial queen, liked the music choice in the edit.
Sweet another cool video from a great adventure
Great to see Wavey taking you along on her expeditions ashore.
Right! And boy does she sandbag it getting back to the boat! ;)
@@backwatersandbackroads Sandbag it? Does this mean she ties your feet to a sandbag so you can't sneak out on her?
Enjoyed!
Thanks again. Great timing, dinner and a movie. Might think about bumping the rpm's a notch. Wouldn't want you to miss the north-land mosquito season.
I live for the dog's public service announcements! I'm cracking up. Also love how you called that ranger someone in a costume LMFAO. I haven't heard that in a long time. There is a rather blunt and wonderful gent named Mark Passio who says that kind of thing about our police state, etc. Glad you are back!!!
Hi Lisa. Yeah, I've always been apprehensive about people who have "authority" for authority's sake. That's why I don't always give them respect. The ones that do good with it I do
@@backwatersandbackroads BINGO! You said it perfectly!!
Really enjoy watching your show look forward to seeing each new adventure I happily subscribed and look forward to what you have to say about keeping a dog on board . Keep enjoying life
Welcome. Thanks for finding us. It can be a challenge sometimes getting to shore. She keeps me from getting too lazy ;)
I fully agree with you about the dog logistics. Dash is all I got, and maybe some day him and Wavy can meet.
A good dog makes it all so much better. God blessed me when I found Wavey. Glad you found the same.
Thanks!
Ryan! Thank you! Now stop it! Lol ;) very helpful, now enjoy the videos. Next one coming right up. I'm double timing it:)
You would think he would be fishing through there that looks like great trolling spades and things like that of course I don't know a lot about fishing in that area or anywhere really😂
Hi 👋 Brenton and Wavey 😊
"Hi Greg!!" --Wavey ;)
Yeah! Ya missed a good dinner, fish and chips...mmmmmmm Thanks for your labors, brother!!
You need a light on the front of the boat below the front rail so it don't blind you at night when you turn it on and can see the buoys 😊
Absolutely
Excellent video
Get everything out! Happier Beagle!
Great video ,poor old wavey got dumped 😂😅👏
I told you in a previous video, put a green grass mat out on deck, gravy can pee and poo on it. You can rinse it in the water after. Tie a rope on it to throw it in the water.
We have one, and Wavey will poop on it (in desperation) but nothing will get this dog to pee anywhere other than shore. Believe me, I've tried.
So good to see another salty dog and wavey too video!!
So get yourself a scooper or bailer, plastic cup, basically when see pees on the beach scoop it up. Then place the sandy pee on the grass mat and let nature happen. She may smell it and think it’s ok to pee here.. 🤞🤞
Take care,
@@tomkellum6754 that's a good idea I haven't tried. On it. I'll try to get her trained this summer. Thanks!
8:30 i thought you put a camera on wavey for a sec, now theres an idea! Make wavey work for once! Lol as your camera pup

I am now planning to get on the water after viewing your content, thanks I am looking into a SeaArk,I have a crazy Idea a boat with a trailer built in,That I can tow with a street legal Rokon around locks and such and if I want to go rent a truck the boat is a trailer for the motorcycle
You are not the only one with that idea my brother:) a buddy and I have been kickjf that around for awhile, only a small skiff barely big enough to sleep in.
Nice. Go for it. I plan to start my build shortly on a 1990's 23' seaark hull.

Second button down on the right side is the mute button for the gas pump ads. Look closely on the one you're complaining about, it has a sticker on it that is worn down from use. Probably said MUTE on it when new.
Nice video sir!
Loved the gautar playing at the start if that was you include more, enjoy your channel stay safe, pet Wavey for me.
I do really like that Portland Pudgie..is it as steady/stable as a fiberglass or aluminum bottom dinghy? Definitely tough as nails man!! Love it buddy!

Ok , did you buy a sponge ? Thanks for another great video
Those buggers are pricy Melvin!
Trust you got your hands on one of those Sponges? Keep it up. Tanks
2:20 they usually do a fireworks show off of barges in kings bay every year for 4th of july
You missed the weeki wachee river. Owell, we're getting to crowded anyways.
Keep it as much a secret as we can.
Well, I'm curious, I have a question for you. I've been watching your channel for a while and I have a 20 foot bass pro buggy pontoon boat with a 60 horse, Mercury and I'm thinking about stripping all the seats and everything off of it and building an 8x10 camper like a truck camper so that I could do what you're doing. I'm curious. Do you think my little 20-foot Pontoon boat would be OK to try something like that. But what I'm also wondering is. What does it cost you in fuel to do that because I live on social security. I've always loved the water at 1 point in my life.I always wanted to get a sail boat.
@alfredperry3492 my opinion is 20 feet is bare minimum size. People have done it. If you could move up to 25-30 that would be better. If you stay at 2k RPMs or so, you'll get amazing MPGs
You've been cruising through a lot of brackish or salty water with the scooter uncovered up front in the spray. Any corrosion issues from that?
Oh yeah ;) pretty much a parts bike now. Still runs and rides fine though
If that ain't the perfect reel of 2024 Florida from 5:05 to 5:48 lol... annoyingly overcrowded with annoying people all over the place... then you find your secret spot and it all seems worth it... but then you return to civilization and you are immediately accosted by i-d-i-o-c-y.
Brent , you and Gravy have videos that are much better than you give them credit for. 2 a week would really be nice even if it's rolling down the water and you chatting ! What about a box with sand in it for Gravy ? Take a spot where she has peed and pooped and put it in sand box ? Or some turf ?
Someone gave me the idea of dabbing up some pee of her from shore and putting it on the grass pad we already have on board. Thank you. Working on ep:39 now...
I live in Port Huron Michigan at the bottom of Lake Huron. When do you think you’ll be in this area?
That's a nice area ;) Huron is such an under appreciated Great Lake ;)

Someday i want to swim with the sea cows.. with Wavey 😂
Janey! :) they are cool creatures. Wavey loves her mind around them. Sea cows is right. I bet they taste good too. ;)
@backwatersandbackroads I'm not eating a sea cow.. they're critically endangered.. unless I don't have any other choice.
@janeysiegrist5061 I'm pretty sure they aren't endangered anymore...but I hear what you're saying Janey ;) I bet people get that hungry in America again
Another good one Brent pet the pooch for me
👍
This may be a dumb question but, if you had adequate shelter and facilities on a pontoon boat, could you make the same journey??
Pontoons make great shanty boats. That's the easiest way to make one happen. I'd go at least 24 feet. 26-30 better. A tri-toon even better. The first shanty boat we built was a catamaran cruiser 26 refurbished. Loved it. A barge hull is nice, but hard to find unfortunately and usually $$$$
@@backwatersandbackroads Thanks for the reply.
@@FourMaxK1 shantys are the best ;)
Speaking of Wavey getting a bath, what are your bath and toilet facilities on the shanty boat. I never hear you going ashore to marina showers.
I swim a lot :) we have only stayed at a marina one night (Alton, Illinois) in 8+months.
You're probably on the other side of Florida by now but you really didnt have to go so far out from the coast. You could of went south without going to the end of the markers unless its a extremely low tide.
Adds soon on moon , billboards in space
Yeap!!!
Hit the second button down on the right hand side and it should turn the volume off. It does where I live.
go beagle barge 🤠👍👍
I worked for over 30 years in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Unfortunately, that line of work attracts many people like that ranger you encountered. Over my career I have seen these jerks cost California millions in lawsuits and, often, their bad people skills caused injuries to other staff trying to clean up after their intemperate remarks or behaviors. God spare us these bozos.
