It is so good to see a hooded eye makeup on a person who had actually hooded eyes like me, most youtubers who do such tutorials have only slightly hooded eyes and most of their hacks won't even work with mine... So I hope although being an absolute makeup dummie, this will help me :D
Cécile du Jard Yeah, but her tips are honestly the same as what all the other UA-camrs with hooded eyes of varying degrees have been saying all along 😂 not that I'm invalidating her tips, but ijs. I've watched tons of vids like this because I also have hooded eyes (and I'm continually learning about the art of makeup). The other UA-camrs were spot on with their pieces of advice, but some people were not receptive because "their eyes are not really hooded" or "they're not hooded enough".
Try viewing hooded eyes on a lady not in her 20's or 30's/ Her makeup techique is simply great for an aged lady. Look for a video of 'Hooded, Droopy Eyes' done by Sugar Puff and Fluff. It's almost magical.

Keep your graceful Beauty Natural you don't need that heavy black stuff makes you look hard and old much prettier without all that heavy dark Shadow... I've never seen anyone clean up the outer edge like that with a lighter color, great tip. I always end up using a finger to try and clean the edge which just results in smearing lol.

The "Do" picture is not a hooded eye. You can clearly see the eyelid. There's no hood over it. A hooded eye (like I have) is when your eyelid cannot be seen when you're looking straight forward with your eyes wide open. It's a pain because your eyeshadow doesn't show unless you look down or close your eyes. It's a bummer.
Try "tightlining" your upper eyelash line instead of using regular eyeliner. It works even better.

You said to avoid the crease of your eye when you do the flick but what if your crease extends past the corner of your eye or ends at the corner of your eye like mine does is it just impossible to do a winged liner look?

It is really important and I didn’t see that you mention the step but for people with hooded eyes it’s very very important to prime and set your eyes - a base is very important For any eyes but especially for those with hooded eyes

Joseny Guevarra. Well I'm not her but yes, it would be the same. Look for some tutorials for mature eyes or makeup for mature women.....meaning those of us who aren't under 40. (I'm just assuming you're over 40, forgive me if I'm wrong). What's funny is in the comments for those vids younger girls gripe away at how boring and wrong it is to "demand" (lol, no one is demanding, it's simply suggestions for mature women) because and I quote "makeup is art!". Those girls haven't a clue as to how things change as we get older. I learned how to correctly wear my eyeshadow from one of those vids now that my lids have become rather hooded due to my age. I have a problem with hooded eyes too and have just in the last year found out that is why my eyeshadow never looks like other tutorials eyeshadows. I don’t particularly want to wear false eyelashes though. Do you have a recommendation for mascara that makes eyelashes longer?
Hi, Candace! I have the same issues and I found this amazing mascara from Lancome called MONSIEUR BIG (waterproof) and it really makes a difference with my short stubby lashes. You can also try lash lengthening serum like Grande Lash or Rodan & Fields that you apply twice a day...hope this helps! 😊😉
