My hair is naturally oily and I usually wash it every other day but it shows in an obvious way after 24 hours so I'd really like to try this whole thing and get my oils to a somewhat normal level. Don’t get insecure. Most people wash their hair once a week. I do it every Sunday because my scalp is extremely dry and if it does get oily it’s close to nothing. Washing it everyday washes out all the natural oils and things that help your hair stay healthy. People who wash their hair everyday tend to have extremely dry and rough hair

Humour is a way of normalising something that so many people struggle with. Mental illness is seen as this big scary thing that most people don’t know how to address, humour has helped with that. A couple of years ago, people couldn’t even mention depression without it being seen as this big scary crazy thing. Making light of serious issues isn’t inherently a bad thing. Mental illness is shit enough as it is, why vilify someone for being able to laugh about it? Of course not being able to get out of bed and carry out basic hygiene is not funny in itself, no one is saying that. I do agree that not everything can be humour coated, and that at some point people do have to address mental health in a serious manner. There is also a danger of, like you said, making mental illness out to be a cute “quirky” thing. Finding a balance is key. But I still think that people should be allowed to joke about their own issues if it makes it any bit easier for them.
By washing your hair everyday for so many years ( stripping oil from your scalp daily) your hair tries to combat dryness of the scalp by producing more and more oil. (I was in the same situation) Try and prolongate your wash cycle, one day at a time :)

Dreamgirl 200 You might have dry/sensitive skin. I have eczema so I put Dove Moisturising Body Wash on my scalp. Shampoo dries out the scalp so I need that extra moisturising.

If you're attempting to train your hair, you need to ease into it. Start by washing your hair every 2 days for a week, then every 3 days for a week, ect. You cant jump from washing your hair every other day to going a full week without washing, thats just not gonna work.

I have to wash my hair everyday, i cant stand having a natural grease odor or natural grease. Im 14 and when i was younger i would almost never wash my hair and when i would, it would last clean for days i assume. I dont really remember because i was young and didn’t pay attention. On second day my hair looks like yours on the second day and i cant stand it , it just feels uncomfortable onto my skin it makes me feel dirty. If my hair is greasy i need to have it in a slick ponytail which i hate now because it causes too much breakage for me 😭
To me I find people that say eww to washing my hair once a week offensive because well one some kind of hair is rly curly and frizzy so the don’t wash it as much and it reduces the frizz and curls and two it keeps your hair from getting dried out

I wash my hair every 1½ weeks (only because I need to deep-condition my hair) in winter and every 2 weeks in summer and they usually look almost the same as on day 1. I remember as a kid I hated washing my hair and I sometimes washed them once in a month and nobody could really tell the difference, not even my parents.
I work in a factory and still only wash my hair once a week. Once your hair gets use to it, you wont look oily/greasy as often.just a list of recommendations: -A wooden bristle brush. It helps distribute your natural oils SO much better than plastic bristles. -can you wear bandanas or any kind of hair accessories to work? If so, they help "disguise" the grease. -a shampoo brush has worked wonders for my hair. I've been told if your scalp is free of dead skin cells and not clogged, it helps with hair growth. Good luck on your journey!

@@Amy-kd5fm I found one on Amazon for like 8 bucks and it really helps my scalp. The only thing I dont like are the size of the silicone "bristles", mine are huge and I think I'd prefer smaller ones.
Tip if you have greasy hair don't brush all the way through your hair, start at the ends get any tangles out and then lightly brush the scalp to neaten but avoid brushing from the scalp to the ends in order to not spread the oil lol

It’s hard. If you don’t have my hair type you wouldn’t understand. I don’t want to strip my hair of its natural oils but I also don’t want my hair to smell or look dirty (trust me, if I go a while without washing, it gets gross). Braids will be your best friend on the super greasy hair days. The grease helps the braids looks sleek and stay in place.

If you're attempting to train your hair, you need to ease into it. Start by washing your hair every 2 days for a week, then every 3 days for a week, ect. You cant jump from washing your hair every other day to going a full week without washing, thats just not gonna work.

I have to wash my hair everyday, i cant stand having a natural grease odor or natural grease. Im 14 and when i was younger i would almost never wash my hair and when i would, it would last clean for days i assume. I dont really remember because i was young and didn’t pay attention. On second day my hair looks like yours on the second day and i cant stand it , it just feels uncomfortable onto my skin it makes me feel dirty. If my hair is greasy i need to have it in a slick ponytail which i hate now because it causes too much breakage for me 😭

To me I find people that say eww to washing my hair once a week offensive because well one some kind of hair is rly curly and frizzy so the don’t wash it as much and it reduces the frizz and curls and two it keeps your hair from getting dried out

I wash my hair every 1½ weeks (only because I need to deep-condition my hair) in winter and every 2 weeks in summer and they usually look almost the same as on day 1. I remember as a kid I hated washing my hair and I sometimes washed them once in a month and nobody could really tell the difference, not even my parents.
I work in a factory and still only wash my hair once a week. Once your hair gets use to it, you wont look oily/greasy as often.just a list of recommendations:
-A wooden bristle brush. It helps distribute your natural oils SO much better than plastic bristles.
-can you wear bandanas or any kind of hair accessories to work? If so, they help "disguise" the grease.
-a shampoo brush has worked wonders for my hair. I've been told if your scalp is free of dead skin cells and not clogged, it helps with hair growth.

I found one on Amazon for like 8 bucks and it really helps my scalp. The only thing I dont like are the size of the silicone "bristles", mine are huge and I think I'd prefer smaller ones.

Tip if you have greasy hair don't brush all the way through your hair, start at the ends get any tangles out and then lightly brush the scalp to neaten but avoid brushing from the scalp to the ends in order to not spread the oil lol

It’s hard. If you don’t have my hair type you wouldn’t understand. I don’t want to strip my hair of its natural oils but I also don’t want my hair to smell or look dirty (trust me, if I go a while without washing, it gets gross). It has taken me a long time to get to the point I’m at now where I can go every other day for washing; I used to wash every single day.
