- Neanderthals became extinct around 40,000 years ago. What I read was homo salience had a one big advantage- they lived as group, formed society which Neanderthals lacked or lived in more isolated manner.
We have no proofs of Neanderthals being more intelligent. They had bigger brain. That's all.
