Dam know that pain D: Never fun to end a series due to this kind of thing but yeah really enjoyed what you made out of this series.
You should definitely return to that underground facility with a brain jar, Nimble gave you the key for a reason. There'll be a nice surprise waiting for you.

Hey wavey one way I got my LA to stop crashing (works in other modded games as well like skyrim ) is to delete old save files, logs, not sure if it will work for you case but maybe worth a shot

You need the Lost Alpha engine update on mod db that fixes out of memory errors, but it may break saves, lose god mode amd so on if you need it for getting long stretches of progress back.
I tried to play this game once when I was 18, but the game was constantly crashing every 5 minutes to the point where I gave up completely.
It's a shame, because I would really like to finish it one day
@registeredblindgame4850 explained that on Modd DB, there is an update for the Lost Alpha engine, which fixes the ram out of memory errors. Hope you get to enjoy and finish the game!

Wavey is right fast travelling is better eventually it will take 60K but a car can break and you have to buy gas.... So fast travelling is better! The maps look interesting.... Very different. Fun fact:I was 2 minutes early but wait why is the game being weird and crashing?! Hmmm somethings wrong hope you find a way to fix it.
When did you last try GAMMA Wavey? I installed and played it yesterday for the first time in a year and holy Jesus it's good now. I mean it was always good but it's on another level.

or you could use the out of memory fix. But LA is so broken anything can happen where if you do stuff slightly out of order it can crash endlessly for no reason, meeting the Sin is a common one for example. Many, many, many, many issues with LA.

Lost alpha is one of those Mods where you have to investigate and find out for yourself why it Crashes so much. I touched the files a lot to keep it working until the end. Same with Gunslinger. Xray Engine Sucks ass.
So I had the same problem with the crash in the hospital area exact same spot and all and the way i fixed it was very dumb yet effective. I just nocliped into the next big chamber with demo_record and everything continiued normaly

I just waited for Guide to continue forward and then wait for me lol

Yea it's a bit of a werid location each of my playthroughs have crashed exactly in the hospital section not sure why but each time just manually reloaded the game from where the level loaded in save and seems to get around it.
tbf the longer you play any stalker mod the more likely it becomes for the mod to crash lol
btw, LA fucking sucks lmao, I tried doing a "play along" or sth like that (essentially playing myself while also watching your series), but I yeeted the fucking piece of shit mod at the "rostok is under attack!" moment, having to RPG two fucking helis lol
