I grew up being drug behind a ski boat on the lake. I couldn’t imagine a boat being in the mud like that. That is one of the craziest things I have seen to date. Those boats are amazing!
@brax7on There's a mud buddy mini and a 35 out there... The issue with Port Neches is that you need a long output shaft because of the deep mud so if you have a Gator-Tail, Go-Devil or Mud Buddy you can pretty much do good. A Pro-Drive can not trim down as deep as the other 3. There are trade offs with each motor but for me a Gator-Tail is where it's at!
We go out there to ride and have fun. The tides return and the flat gets covered with water. Once water drops again there are no ruts or tracks. The mud fills right back in. Fishing can be good in the deeper areas nearby.
@duck77619 not tearing up anything the mud flats go right back to normal once tide comes in. At least were not dumping fuel, oil and exhaust fumes straight into the water like all outboards!
@bighunt986 Test drive both, the PD can not trim down as deep as the GTR, the GTR will pull my boat in reverse far enough to get me out, I do not need to run 20 MPH in reverse just because I can. I like the instant reverse feature on the GTR because you can easily set / retrieve dekes, pull away & back to dock with easy no comparison for me. Both great motors though
does this motor run as good at sea level as it does in other places, I live in utah and I know the props are different because we have a different kind of water.
@rjt5127 PD's do not run this area because they break & get stuck. The guys over there have removed 4 PD's from the area they never come back. If your paying $300 for a prop your the sucker! Your 36PD can't run as fast as these motors no offense but congrats on purchasing the slowest MM on the market lol
@bighunt986 There is a learning curve to these motors, I will say that in the video above having reverse allowed me not to ever get stuck that day. check out mudmotortalk(Dot)com
@brax7on setxperformance(dot)com ask for Keith, Gator-Tail has reverse, mud buddy does not and I don't know about you but I like the instant reverse feature, while others are using push poles at the ramp I squeeze a lever and take a sip of beer LOL

And that's why they say you just because you can doesn't mean you should
I know these motors are designed for it but damn are they good at sawing through mud

The best way to fuck up any duck hunting spots!!
Except it was after duck season and the flats are tidal. They return to normal on the next tide change. Welcome to SETX.
What do the Game Wardens think about yall tearing up the marsh?
robert, they ride with us. This area is tidal and returns to normal with no traces of our tracks.
What do you go out there to do? You can't fish, can you?

So what's the average life span of one of the screws? That mud has to be like liquid sand.
If you're playing in that everyday probably a month tops. I ran my original prop for almost a year before I replaced it.
and this is y i have a long tail gottal love it

"showoff!"
lmao
are you distorting the fishery you love
John Cremeans no, if you knew this area it returns to a solid mud flat after each tide change. No prop scars are even detectable.

There was a boat out there with a slick bottom bro w/ the MB on the back...

They’re all EFI now. So yes
Legend has it, they are still trying to get it unstuck...
Bryan everyone got out and home lol
If I got mud on or in my boat I’d be pissed 😤
@brax7on Do your homework they are both the same 35 hp b&s engine!
Kevin 2jz. That's why you carry paddles
The mudbuddy is a ribed v-bottom cant compare it to a slick botom put that motor on a slick botom and see what happens LOL
