In South African we call it football. We have South African Football Association (SAFA), which is the FOOTBALL governing body and NOT South African Soccer Association
We use both word interchangeably in the hood, but the formal way is football. Even the football governing bodies like SAFA 🇿🇦 , BFA 🇧🇼, LEFA 🇱🇸, EFA 🇸🇿, NFA 🇳🇦 ZIFA, the "F" in all those stands for football.
