The Lucid CEO is an engineer who spent a significant portion of his career working as the lead engineer for Lotus, then was poached by Tesla to run their flagship Model S program, which he did for 3 years, before leaving to start Lucid and do it all better than everyone else. Its a car that cost 250k to build that you get for 140k. It should be good. Unfortunately the Pure will break Lucid, it will never turn a profit at the current price.
We took delivery of a Model S Plaid (a replacement for our 2015 Model S P90D) in August 2021. We took delivery of our Lucid Air Dream Performance in December 2021. The Lucid was production car No. 154. The Plaid was delivered with several more defects than the Lucid. The three Lucid defects -- loose rear license plate holder, misaligned trunk lid, loose weatherstripping on trunk lid -- were fixed quickly by Lucid with home visits. Some of the Plaid defects -- steering yoke scuffing against steering column, right outside review mirror not securely attached to car, rubber grommets coming off trunk lid studs, and defective driver air bag (that took two replacements to fix) -- were fixed with a combination of home and shop visits. Some of the Plaid defects -- misaligned body panels, misaligned interior trim pieces, and protective film ahead of rear wheels and behind door handles being noticeably yellow against the white car -- are just something we are going to live with, having gotten used to Tesla assembly quality after seven years of owning Teslas. Now, over a year later and with around 15,000 miles on both cars, the Plaid has developed body squeaks and groans, while the Air remains as quiet and solid as a rock.

Its a car that cost 250k to build that you get for 140k.
It should be good.
Unfortunately the Pure will break Lucid, it will never turn a profit at the current price.
Are these on mass production? If not, I'll be interested to see the level of QC.
They are.
@@blakespringpasturemortimer9168 Thank you for sharing your insights! Im in a country where Hybrids are super hot and popular, in recent times, we've seen many new EV offerings so it'll be interesting to see how those play out!
Im currently happy with my BMW but would love to potentially have an EV as a secondary car one day!
Most luxurious? Not
Lucid is amazing car i love lucid
Nice EV car, I like it!
Definitely Not as luxurious as the EQS. The use of materials are tech focused and not tailored to luxury.
Please if you haven’t look at this car in red I don’t like red cars but WOW
No Bumpers? A fender bender will set you back by 30k?
15:15 miles was doing that RS6 in the mirror DIRTY
the literal only thing I like about his car is the excessive use of alcatara inside.
I like this & consider buy Lucid Air GT EV car.
If you love the GT, wait until the Lucid Sapphire comes out!
Lucid is above all EVs!
idk why so many people dont like the outside. I think it looks sick.
The panel gap on the trunk is wild
I like Lucid but that trunk panel gap would drive me insane
please we need the i4 edrive without sound drive test
Been waiting for this, cant wait to watch it.
Imagine driving that car on a very sunny day... Torture
It does turn into a bit of a fishbowl
@@MilesPerHr Thanks for confirming that it's hot due to the glass roof. I have a Tesla Y and absolutely hate the heat. I ordered the Pure for the value (price and range) .... and yes, the metal roof !
How does camera are filming at the top of the car
I love the sound of this car, not gonna lie. More EVs need to sound like this.
I would choose lucid
MPH - Recently , TESLA reduced the Weight & Thickness of its Glass Roof on all 2023 models , while Increasing NVH and Superior UV/IR Filtering and Standard TINTING.
Lucid is outforming tesla.... GO lucid
Awesome car, but the Lucid still suffers from fit/finish issues. Not for long, hopefully. At present, the i7 is the king of EV luxury.
Looking forward to driving the i7 soon to compare
I wanna like it but the exterior looks is just a huge turn-off.. And of the mentioned competitors, I'd take the Audi E-tron GT.
See and drive the Lucid in person first. Video and images don't do it justice.
@@Miata822
That’s fair.
LET'S GOOOOO LUCID FAMILY 🙋♂️❤🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉🎉😁👍🕺🕺🕺🕺💎💎💎💎💎
I feel like it's from space
Great review. Inspiring car.
Lucid definitelyi has a bigger statement on the street than Tesla Model S. This car is gorgeous in person.
I have a question, if the car have an accident and become upside down, what will happen to the glass roof?
15:19 The RS6 in the side mirror trying to keep-up 😂
I saw it glad I wasn’t the only one😂
100% Lucid!!
Looks like a great car.....but...It will be interesting to see how many are actually sold in five years.
Inside is all luxury.
I’d pick, and did pick the GT. Take delivery on the 19th and I cannot wait!!
IF I had the money.. I would've gone for Audi, Benz or... why not Taycan? Tesla's are super fast, but I don't think the build quality (both exterior & interior) & the ride comfort is the same level as others - like BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche
I think tesla need to improve their quality, aswell as enterogate the tech with designer, I feel like the design of the tesla is a bit in the lower side.
Yup, tesla and tesla owners seem to think they're luxury but it's the exact opposite
@@ViciousFirearms I've owned everything. The Model S is luxury. It has features the German automakers haven't even begun to approach.
I was planning to get a Taycan Turbo, excellent brakes and turn-in. The Air GT was faster, quicker, very good turn in, pretty good brakes, but with vastly more range & comfort. If i wanted a track/hoon only car I would wait for the electric 718, but for practical real-world use with plenty of fun on tap, well, you simply cannot beat the Lucid.
Besides, my wife likes to ride in it 🙂
Only regret, wish I had waited for the 1050hp GT Performance, not that I'll ever need that power.
Lucid lucid lucid...
How tall are you?
Nah that double display review camera is insane that’s amazing
Love the interior but not really a fan of the rims. Other than that it looks amazing
MPH, this is a great POV review on the Lucid Air GT. I love the style of the Lucid Air which is unique. Well done!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Hector!
Like the interior, not a fan of the exterior design.
The panel gaps look so bad.
@Jonny I never compared to Tesla or said Tesla has no issues. This was for the Lucid Air, right?

LUCID needs to build a SUV version of this sedan
They are. The Lucid Gravity SUV will be revealed soon.
Please review camaro zl1
Would love to! Hard to find one 😔
Tesla is the one I would get
Great
Is it more luxury that full option bmw i7?
Waiting to drive that to say for sure, but based on the new 760i I drove, the materials in this Lucid are higher quality
@MilesPerHr what about comfort and equipment?
@@Jotek58
The audio system in the i7 is much better, and you can get more rear seat amenities and comfort in the BMW.
@@josephquinto5812 I know that
@@Jotek58
Then why are you asking all these questions? lol
I think it is really good.
Unfortunately the Lucid brand will end up like Saturn
Saturn had a 28 year run - not terrible
Lucid all the way !
Looks like a toyota celica
Audi etron GT
0:52 did he say those vents were to ‘cool the headlights’?
Yes. It's part of the design, per Lucid.
thanks for posting this. I got to test drive it at the Boston studio on new years and have to say it's the most luxurious EV ive seen. still too expensive
Agreed. Everything in this segment just feels overpriced. $20-30K cheaper (closer to an S-Class), this would be a knockout.
@@MilesPerHr The 620hp Air Touring, essentially the same car -200hp and a smaller battery (deeper footwell) is in fact $31,000 less costly than the GT. Still has faster charging and more range than any Tesla. you should try to get one to test.
@@MilesPerHr I just test drove the Lucid Touring at Lucid's HQ and it is a fantastic car. Even though it theoretically packs less HP than the GT, going into the Sprint mode and hitting the accelerator feels like I'm riding a rocket ship. In almost every other aspect, the Touring is basically the same as GT. So the price is right if you are not looking to take your vehicle drag racing. I personally have the Pure reserved as I just want a cool looking everyday driving machine and at that $80k price point, I think the Air Pure will deliver exactly that.
You should pov drive a Smart Fortwo 😂
Ha! That would be fun
Oh, you haven't tried the Mercedes EQS yet ... 😉
He literally has
I have - feel free to check out the review. Looks terrible, interior doesn't measure up, range and power and less than this.
@@MilesPerHr First reviewer to openly admit it looks terrible, THANK YOU!
