Excuse me! I had one of those Kitchen Aid ranges and it was a piece of computerized crap. A voltage spike killed the control board and the replacement board was extremely expensive. When the board went out nothing on the oven worked but the stove top still functioned. Next, the spark igniter would not stop sparking so I unplugged the range to stop that. We ended up having to light the burners with a barbecue lighter. Before the computer failed, the oven temperatures were selected with a cumbersome menu selection system; instead of simply turning a dial to the selected temperature. In other words, even when it was working as designed, it was a nightmare to cook with. All in all the Kitchen Aid Range was nothing but a piece of computerized junk designed to impress customers (like myself) who didn't know better at the time. I ended up throwing it away and purchased a restaurant stove. The restaurant stove does everything a cooking range is supposed to do, and I never have to worry about it not working due to a computer failure; as It does not have a computer to fail. The stove top performs better than the Kitchen Aid Range ever did, as does the oven. The commercial range oven is gas heated with a convection fan controlled by a simple off/on switch. It also has an electric infrared broiler which is also selected with a simple off/on switch. Although my initial reason for purchasing a restaurant stove was due to the fact that ALL home stoves are computer controlled, I feel that it was one of the best kitchen appliance purchases I ever made. david
@Renee Tate Thank you for the info, but I just looked up Bluestar 30" gas range and they START at $5,095. Yikes! Do you know of anything of good quality, but not so expensive? I could go maybe half that amount. I just want a simple 30" gas range with gas oven, NO convection, that has accurate temperature, nothing fancy, nothing computerized. I have an old Roper that has spot-on oven temperature accuracy, but sadly it won't match with our new kitchen remodel colors. I would prefer white, but could maybe deal with stainless. I'm about ready to look on Ebay! =/
@Renee Tate Thank you for your response! I have been looking online as much as I can because I was hoping to find a good deal this week. I guess the search continues! I liked the American Range brand... they sell commercial and residential... and it looks like you can turn the convection off if you want. Still pretty pricey though. Well, thanks again for the suggestions, I appreciate you taking the time. You sound like a serious cook with that range you found! =D
I was considering a pretty much once in a lifetime purchase of a premium stove (range for Americans) costing $8500 but what concerned me was it still only had a two year warranty! Really I would expect a 10 year warranty for that price and so called quality you would expect for such a premium stove.
We like the gas 36” one at Lowe’s they had on the sales floor, but we’re going with a Kucht instead. Here’s hoping it is a great addition to our kitchen!
@@Andy-vt7sl Unless paying a premium for a luxury stove like Bluestar, the best bet is probably the profile or cafe line with their 21k btu tri-ring burner. In the US market consumer level brands should focus on more power, but I guess if someone wants that they need to pay more. Thankfully GE is giving a bit more power these days for less.
@@dr.cavendish4339 those GE models looks much more expensive than the Kucht we ended up with. Although a 21k BTU burner is 1k more than what mine has, it’s not worth $2k-$3k more.
how long have you had it. btw ?? thinking of getting one myself, tho i work for a ''High end" brand myself our cheapest model is 9k . thrust me they are all built simple as cake. build with the same components as a 600$ unit at lowes or homedepot. the price comes down to aesthetics and how "pro it is" oh and btus which wow cant believe they cost thousands in the market world.
