I was groomed at 15. Stuck in a bedroom with a bucket to urinate in and a webcam recording my every move.
Police wouldn't go near it because the abuser was Pakistani. 14 years later the sex trafficking scandal in Telford exploded and they finally took a statement from me.

That's one thing that puts me off this channel, the fact the host mostly goes easy on the parents in particularly the single mothers. In my opinion if you have a kid it shouldn't be for free benefit money or unplanned with no secure future. Also as the parent it's your job to raise your kid with the right manners and behaviour so if they're out of control or falling into the wrong crowd then do something about it! You're the parent! And lastly ffs if you're gonna take in a new partner unrelated to the kids then don't just allow them into your home so soon. If they have a past long serious criminal history or drug issues ect and you still think that's OK to be around your kids then you seriously need your head testing

I really appreciate your total empathy, your kind heart and the way you are so balanced in your views Emma! You are amazing.....BUT. Got to be said. There was so much abuse and depravity going on within this family... Family life was sadly BEYOND chaos. There have been leaked social Services reports that state Charlene was strongly suspected of being the victim of her dad "pimping her out". A total of 16 known sex offenders stayed in that home. One man in his 40s was suspected of sharing a bed with Charlene and was seen leaving her room on multiple visits from social services... pulling up his trousers. Its all been published/leaked online and it's sickening. The mother and father did not cooperate with the investigation to begin with. Had no alibi's for the night she went missing - the mum said Charlenes dad was out the Saturday night, on a bike searching for Charlene. The dad said to the police that he was actually too intoxicated that night to recall anything and did not return home from the pub until 2am Sunday morning. They both told very contradicting information on multiple occassions about where they were and what day they reported Charlene missing. If the dad was allegedly worried enough to be out looking for Charlene on Saturday...why no call to police until Monday? There's a theory. A male friend of the parents was living in the family home that weekend. He had a court appearance on the monday....regarding sexually molesting a young boy and young girl. This was the day the parents officially reported her missing. So they obviously did not want social or police sniffing around whilst he was staying with them.
Charlene's sister was living with a 47 year old sex offender....at the age of 14. A sex offender who appears to have been sexually involved with the mother as well!!!!! As if it doesn't get worse....A 40 something year old friend of the mum visited regularly and declared his sexual interest and "love" for Charlene. But he said he would "wait until she was legal". The mum remained friends with him. Actually, ALL of the dad's associates and closest friends were known paedophiles. Very odd....
The father was alcohol dependent and physically abusive to his children. He was seen running Charlene baths when professionals visited the home, and middle aged men would exit her bedroom. Its very much believed Charlene was too scared to return home to him, as he demanded all the money she made from performing sexual favors to men...he needed to fund his alcohol addiction. On the day she went missing she was reported to have given some money to an older male she knew....money she had been paid for having sex with a paedophile. This doesn't seem like coincidence...
If Charlene was found as a result of the investigation she was going to be put into local authority care regardless of anything. I'm appalled that she hasn't already been taken into care to be honest, it's heartbreaking and it's absolutely disgraceful. This poor poor girl 😢❤😮

@@hayleysimpson4939I do appreciate that perhaps Emma is not allowed to discuss unverified information. Meaning the information has not been PROVEN to be the absolute truth. Despite the fact it is supported by many sources, acquaintances of the family ...child protective services etc. But Emma cannot risk being accused of defamatory accusations towards the family. I do get that. But I just get very angry and worried that people who do not decide to go on very deep dives of their own after watching Emma's content (I spend hours after videos that intrigued me) will never suspect any foul play and will go through life believing this family we're loving, and supportive...only slightly fractured.
Charlene deserves the truth to be out there, and her suffering and abuse known!!!! ❤

      @@abiwilson6607I completely agree!!!
I absolutely love Emma and all of her work. I admire her greatly, but she does sometimes get it wrong. And it doesn't do the child being remembered any justice. Their history and their experiences are soooo vital for us to acknowledge. And people who abuse children MUST be held accountable.
I watched her Paris Bennett perspective...then went on a deep dive afterwards...for hours. And his mother appears VERY far from perfect, and a big enabler of his psychopathy. It does not in any way excuse what he did. Nothing ever can. But in her video Emma painted the mum in a really good light. Loving, nurturing etc. But it appears her parenting was traumatic for her young son and she is very responsible for disrupting his childhood in many ways. She was encouraging him to be codependent on her and treating him inappropriately for his age. And not seeking him help when he was very clearly disturbed early on! Using drugs far more than she was letting on. It seems Emma will use material that is not substantiated when it comes from a parent who has "lost their child" and "is the victim", but won't use information that's not substantiated when it completely contradicts that. But is backed up by many individuals.
If you look up Terry Hobbs. WOW!!!! So much damning information that he tortured and murdered those 3 little boys (her west Memphis 3 video). I understand she was covering the case of the investigation and the believed wrong conviction....not the individual home lives of each child. But Stevie Branch was horrifically sexually abused and physically abused throughout childhood by Terry. And the theories as to Terry killing all 3 children are just too strong to ignore. I understand she can't touch on him being a killer ..she has to stick purely to facts for fear of slander or false accusations. But to disregard such vital information at times makes me sad....it really does. Because unless you deep dive for hours like we do....the perpetrators of abuse are still getting away with it. And always will. Her audience mainly seems to take things at face value, and no parent who has abused their child should be misrepresented as being loving.
I guess we can't always get it right....but Emma has access to soooo much more than we do! So I thought she would be more thorough on some cases.😢

In the first few weeks, I was made aware of this case by locals who warned me to keep away from the takeaway shop near to my property, so naturally I looked up the story and did a fair bit of reading about it from various resources. While I don't know enough to make an informed opinion, the rumours/gossip from locals have been rife and do nothing but perpetuate gossip. I'm a believer in looking at patterns of behaviour and escalation.

Usually I really love these videos, but this seems really unbalanced. There’s a lot of blame placed on the police for initially thinking it was a runaway case and outrage from Emma about how they were not going to the press, losing time etc, but completely justified why her parents didn’t report her missing, why they didn’t panic. Perhaps initially the police believed the parents who told them she’d run away for 4 days at the age of 12, and when the parents don’t bother to report a child missing for days thinking she’s a runaway, why blame the police for thinking the same at the start? Why make it into a ‘class’ issue when it’s more likely that a loving caring parent would be jumping and screaming and doing anything to protect or find a child - yet these parents weren’t?
Her parents brought known paedophiles into their home, had no regard to their children’s safety, her fathers friends were all paedophiles and didn’t report her missing for days, and neither parent were open and honest with police at the start. But all this was skirted over as described as ‘chaotic yet close knit loving family’. In my opinion it’s the complete opposite!
I can’t imagine EVER putting my children in any position where they may be within 100ft of a sex offender, let alone having them stay in my home knowing full well what they are!!
A loving caring parents in a close knit family protect their children, keep them safe, know where they are and who with - her parents were anything but this. Poor Charlene was let down by everyone but most of all the people who were meant to protect her.
It just goes against every fibre in my body as a parent to treat a child the way they ‘cared’ for theirs.

Right! I knew a girl in 8th grade who was similar to what you described about Brenda. Now that I'm older I believe this girl, who I will call T, was a prostitute. We ran away together at age 13, got picked up by two men in their thirties, word taken to a crappy apartment in Virginia where T proceeded to go to the back bedroom with both men. I ran out of that crap hole as fast as my stubby little legs would carry me and called my brother to come and get me.
I often wondered if T was trafficked by her mom or if she'd been sexually abused for so long she just thought it was normal to be forced into sex by any adult she encountered.
Wonder if she ended up ok.

From reading up on this tragic story of Charlene her father was notorious for always allowing sex offenders into his home, i know you mentioned her mother stabbing the father but this was just one of many red flags regarding this family. I'm not saying there's no smoke without fire regarding the kebab shop but the general consensus is that this was just a ruse by the family so they wouldn't be looked at too closely. Whoever's responsible for poor Charlene's disappearance she was let down by everyone, especially her family.

Very complex case Emma. I saw a 3 part documentary on it a few years ago. Maybe Charlene was loved by her family but one thing u forgot to mention was that when Charlene went missing it became noted that if she was found she was not to be returned to her family and instead put into care. Indeed u mention in this documentary that Charlene's Mother stabbed her husband and that Charlene's father was inviting known sex offenders into his home. I think the whole 'kebab meat' story was simply invented as a decoy to distract the investigation into what really happened to Charlene. It is my gut instinct from looking at the evidence that her parents had something to do with it, either that or their neglect contributed to the disappearance of Charlene.

This case is new to me , I'll have a quick look at wiki. Emma is looking fabulous as usual , whatever hairstyle she has , she always looks great. Certain people only suit certain hairstyles , but Emma's hair looks fabulous in every single style she wears 🙂

I've said it on Instagram already, but congratulations on the birth of your lovely little lady! your strength is amazing, it sounds like you have been on quite the journey! Would you be up to doing a standalone video about your experience, I'd love to hear what it is like having a baby when your older children are grown up, its always intrigued me. I imagine its so special and heartwarming to see your boys with her, in such a different way than if they were little too. How was the pregnancy and birth etc.. It might be too soon for you at the moment though, its amazing how you've kept that consistency. I understand if you feel its not right for the channel or its not really your thing, and most importantly you and your family's privacy is no1 priority x

Govt does not care about children in the UK.. I shan't elaborate as to why they allow this kind of thing to happen to our kids.

So many failures for Charlene. The absolute trauma for her family, so so sad. I hope someone comes forward with information as product of this coverage. Thanks for putting it out there Emma. 💚 The other worry though is, if not Charlene and if it wasn’t a joke. Who was the girl that the men were talking about? Anyway, once again thank you for bringing this case to light and I wish the family love and success in bringing those who are responsible to justice one day. One day soon I hope. 💚
