  • This is my second time visiting Turner’s Auto Salvage in Fresno California. I still have not seen all of what they have to offer. I really think this is one of the world’s largest junk yards around.

Probably my favorite wrecking yard in Central California. Turner's auto salvage. We used to go here in the 60s and 70s to get parts for our mustangs and trucks is always a friendly staff and the best selection of cars and parts. thanks for this update gonna have to go give Jerry a visit. 😊

Hello everyone. I must say that I enjoy vintage and modern salvage yards since I was very young. Unfortunately several of these vintage vehicles ended up here because of terrible traffic accidents . My condolences to any families that lost loved ones in tragic accidents. In the past vehicles did not have the safety equipment that we are now relying on for safety.

Man, I saw a few of the cars I've owned at one point or another...and a lot I would have loved to have owed. I didn't see the Datsun convertible in the mix with the 240 and 280's though. I remember the vin started with SPL311.... IF I'm remembering correctly, that is. When I was a young man an old man (younger than I am now) had a bright blue Rambler American for himself and a bright yellow identical Rambler American for his wife. They kept them in impeccable condition and kept them until way into their 90's. I don't know if they are still in the garage or even if the old couple are still alive...but if they are, those cars are still in impeccable shape. Fun video Rob, thank you.

I've heard a lot about Turner's. Seems like I was relatively close to it when we were out there. Some of them seem pretty well picked over. Nice know people have utilized this place in the past. Those axle housings exhaust manifold I'm sure somebody is looking for one and multiply that hundred times over. But those are holdover relics from back in the day when those cars were a lot newer I would say. Well that's interesting to get a better glimpse of Turner's because I've seen some other videos years ago and I think the interview the old boy also. Thanks for showing this the salvage yard

He used to teach high-school students in that area of expertise. @@gaspumprob yeah the I-5 I didn't think about that grapevine. But we drove on it. The 101 is not the one that runs right along the coast? There was some nice places up through there. I both my sons with me then and we pulled into this dairy Queen homestyle dining restaurant. It was Central to farther north right on the coast. I remember as young lady who was about the same age as my first born son she kept eyeing him. Well that was nothing new. After all I was the first runner-up in the Gerber's baby contest in my day. A customer of mine his wife brands a large modeling agency and wanted me to have him as a baby model. Ironically I did not do it because I wanted him to have a normal life. Anyway the cute thing about it was you know that girl in high school or some other time in your life when she had it all together but she didn't realize what the fuss was about? Well at the time my son the firstborn one was that boy he didn't realize what the fuss was all about. There was a number of mothers who have commented about my boys and something about shielding their girls from them I don't know what. I do believe they didn't trust your girls because my boys a gentleman's. Anyway see there's another subject like talk about more than cars. He goes dad I don't believe it she's one of them fabulous California gurls look how pretty she is and she seemed so nice. Well he didn't figure that it was her whole family that worked the store or the restaurant. She turned beet red and got the biggest smile on her face and my son said Dad what's up with her? I said I don't know but I got feeling you'll figure it out down the line. He always wanted to go and live in Hawaii for some reason. I guess that's one adventure I turn down and he thought he'd pick up on I don't know. Well see that simple mentioning of the I-5 LED from one thing to another and brought back that pleasant memory that I had not thought about in a while. Thank you very much

@@gaspumprob 101 is a gorgeous drive. You obviously had some great influences from prior generations. As the old saying goes. Thank you can I think you can't you're normally right. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy if you're willing to work at something you continue to improve. Say ironically you mentioned painting panels. When I was a teenager I did not get that memo 📝. I just watching my dad do it for a number of years off and on. He told me what he wish you could do to improve. I started from that point and went forward. Asking other people along the lines when I run into you knowledgeable resources. Anyway I laid down paint a whole car very well. The memo I did not get was how difficult it can be to paint. The message I got was work at it you'll be better. The message that was the driving force especially in this case was I like to see something go from New York to pretty. I was in my later twenties by the time I realized that auto body repair and paint were two different specialties. I just figured if you could do one you can do both. Now that's not a knock against anybody. That's just being naive on my part. But it worked for me.
