Thank you so much for another review! I'm glad you liked The Cairn of Chaos!
To address some of your concerns -- I tend to tune my combats more dangerous, as I find that it encourages my players to seek non-combat solutions to problems. I also always use the NPC reaction roll for any sentient NPCs, so it's not a guarantee that any creature in the tomb besides the Pool of Elemental Chaos will be hostile to the party!
I'm really glad that you liked it though! I'm working on another module right now that'll be coming out in the next two weeks or so (for the Indestructoboy Jam) that'll also be PWYW, as a sneak peak of a larger adventure that I'm aiming to publish by the end of 2024!

Wow you're a teacher?
One of my players (the nihilist seer in CoS) is also a teacher.
We as a group worked together to create an like after school class (we call it AG the students choose like sport, music, language and so on).
A Pen&Paper AG it is quite nice for the kids to play and learn. Everytime no all students can join this.
Nice adventures I like the first one the most, the map idea is great.

10:56 It's very OSR for there to be no treasure after a big fight. Modern gaming has taught players that a dungeon should be "fair." Folks expect balanced fights, the predictability of a canonical rule for every situation, and treasure after every combat. In short, they want the dungeon to be predictable and accommodating like a vending machine. That's almost the complete opposite of what a dungeon is supposed to be - an unknown, inhospitable place full of danger where rewards may be found by the bold and the clever but only kept by those lucky enough to escape with them.
Yeah, that's totally fair. I guess my point was that it's usually kinda unsatisfying, especially if there's a character death or two, for no tangible result. It's one of those "principles vs. practice" moments I guess.
