She’s absolutely beautiful by the way.
1 John 2:15-17 New Living Translation 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. James 4:4 New Living Translation 4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God." I really miss her. She was such a bright refreshing star. So soft in her voice. Not violent and agressive like the sounds of today. The world had a certain innocents with her voice and person. Life was simpler and much more pleasent then. It was more relaxing and we were more reassured about the present and future. Its hard to describe unless you were there and had the experience.
You know you may have listened to an album a few times when you haven't heard a song in over 20 years and still remember it word for word. They had no idea how iconic and important this sweet young thing from Australia was going to be.
I saw this show when it first aired. Her first song was on the charts and was well received. However, no one was prepared for that second number. Johnny was stunned as was the audience. This performance made her a star in the US. (BTW, I listened to another ONJ song on UA-cam tonight and was thinking about this memorable performance and bang, here it was! Is the UA-cam algorithm now reading minds?
@@thomaspc0 The guys definitely do. I saw her at the Paris, 5th row, just hoping she didn't look at me. I might not me able to handle it. Theres another Tonight Show and Johnny is having difficulty after "Sam".
Back in her day I was a progressive rock fan so I most likely looked at I Honestly love you with disdain. What a fool I was. A remarkable performance that nearly brought me to tears.
Wow! Great performance. Not easy on live TV, she's so exposed, yet it's so simple, and beautifully done. Gotta hand it to Johnny for setting up the show in a way to bring out her best. Great teamwork.
There seems to be a little personal meaning to "I honestly love you", her eyes looked like she was slightly tearing up. When she stared at the camera, I really felt like she was looking right at ME. Thank you, sweetheart, for showing the world how lovely and sensual a gentle lady can be. I'm glad our worlds passed close enough that I felt like I met you.
Here's a fun factiod that I'm pretty sure I heard on Casey Kasem's American Top 40; That performance had a big part in 'I Honestly Love You' being released as a single in the USA. The reaction from the audience was so strong Olivia went back to MCA and said 'you have to release that as a single'.
I'd believe it. That wasn't just polite applause that died down quickly. And her reactions are subtle but unmistakable. Pleased at first, then biting her lip. But then it goes on and she seems quite overwhelmed.
@@Papadoc1000 Her biting her lip reminds me of Bobby Hatfield's Rightous Brothers on the Andy Williams Show in 1964. Find that on UA-cam. Worth your while. Recommend " New Zealand girl's" Version.

She started out as a country artist in Australia and sang the most nymphlike version of 'Jolene' back in the mid 70's - the best take on this song ever I believe. Literally Narcissus' 'Echo', a garden goddess. Well before I even left Australia and came to America, she made it big in the U.S. in the late 70's and early 80's and became much more sophisticated. I think it was a duet she did with Gene Kelly in 'Xanadu' while they danced together that was the next most dreamy thing I've ever heard from her, and harkened back to her innocent country girl roots.
I heard her on the radio first and foremost when i was a kid and thought how beautiful her voice was and then when I saw her I was blown away of how beautiful she was to match. RIP Olivia and thank you for making my childhood special.

Olivia's voice always made me happy and feel safe.
We all honestly love you!
God bless you Olivia!
Continue singing with the angels! ♥️
1 John 2:15-17 New Living Translation
15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.
James 4:4 New Living Translation
4 You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God."
Mark 8:36 New Living Translation
36 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
We are not God's counselor or his advisor. We do not have the authority to say where any of us will be or what we will be doing. We all deserve hell and then the lake of fire on judgement day.
I really miss her.
When she sings to the camera, she makes the viewer feel like she's singing just for them
You know you may have listened to an album a few times when you haven't heard a song in over 20 years and still remember it word for word. They had no idea how iconic and important this sweet young thing from Australia was going to be.
This rendition of I Honestly Love You is the most heartfelt, skillfull and powerful I've heard from her
There is a hint of a smile as she lowers her head. She's nailed it.
And captured a lot of hearts. RIP
This was one beautiful lady with an ever beautiful voice.
Great story!
👍
After all these years, I still get choked up and tears in my eyes from listening to her sing I Honestly Love You.
RIP Olivia,I was 11 when this came out on AM radio.
There seems to be a little personal meaning to "I honestly love you", her eyes looked like she was slightly tearing up. When she stared at the camera, I really felt like she was looking right at ME. Shivers. Like others have said, she was my first real crush in the 70's. What a wonderful voice and pretty face, awesome singer! RIP, Olivia. You'll be missed.
I think my heart stopped beating at that moment she looks straight at the camera. Heartbreaking.
ONJ,what a legend of Australia, she can really sing and act too,the charity work she has done over the years, unreal!Try to battle her own health issues, anyway you are too good, blessed to be one of your fans
I love the clearness of her voice.
You mean clarity.
And so everybody's dream girl from the '70s leaves us thank you Olivia for being part of the journey hope I see you on the other side
This was back when a artist and performer actually sang or played live. Awesome.
It´s impossible to not fall in love, seeing this...
Greetings from Germany´s Livvy fan No 1!
Wow, beauty defined. I've been in love with Olivia since the mid 70s.
+Tom McK I was so in love with ONJ tat I saw Xanadu in the theater 10 times.
I hated losing her. She was a sensation. Johnny even knew it. She recording ready whenever she sings.
Rip Olivia. A beautiful person inside and out.
A beautiful singer , beautiful woman and a beautiful person! Thank you for your music and all that you were in life! God Bless you Olivia . RIP
Such a beautiful woman, with an angel's voice. I hope to see a live concert of hers soon.
I hope you were able to see her perform.
This lady and Linda Ronstadt are the most beautiful singers I have seen, and they could sing just about any type of song.
Such a beautiful talented Woman, still hard to believe that she’s gone, Olivia Newton-John you will forever be missed. RIP Beautiful Lady!
I've always loved Olivia Newton-John. She is still one of my all time favorite singers. I love her accent and it always amazes me how people with English/Australian accents can sing and you don't hear their accents.
Thank you, sweetheart, for showing the world how lovely and sensual a gentle lady can be. I'm glad our worlds passed close enough that I felt like I met you.
Nice comment.
Heavy, man!
I felt in love with Olivia in the seventies. What a sweet voice. Is in the memory of God now.Rest in Peace,Sandy.
I've seen her in concert twice, once in 76 and again in 82...and have always been in love with her. Madly
Soooo Beautiful!
I have never seen a performance like this sooo tender so lovely She is so comfortable on stage and with the cameras
@@Papadoc1000 Her biting her lip reminds me of Bobby Hatfield's Rightous Brothers on the Andy Williams Show in 1964. Find that on UA-cam. Worth your while. Recommend " New Zealand girl's" Version.
Watching this video , reminds me why I fell head over heels for you so many years ago...I honestly love you too Olivia
She was awesome. So sad she's gone.
RIP dear Olivia. I have been a big fan since the early 70's.
She & Linda Ronstadt were the 2 female singers of the 70s who every man wanted (most every man) & all the girls wanted to be because they were so beautiful and talented. Olivia won a lot of CMA awards & received a lot of criticism for it because she wasn't "country," although Olivia had nothing to do with getting nominated. One of the best female singers, loved her "high" voice.
I saw this as a 14 year old in 75 and haven't seen it since, THANKS!!!!! God I feel old
She always offered a live performance. So many, then and more now, asked for taped vocals. Liv is so much the read deal.
Such a heartfelt song that can be dedicated to all our love ones. What a great performance and the way she looked directly at the camera 🎥 when she sang “ I honestly love you” at the end of the song.
How many singers could sing using just their own voice like that today?
Very few.
How could anyone dislike this woman, critic, public whatever, she's just so genuinely lovely.
I was a 14 year old pup when I first heard this angel,s voice & I've been in love with her ever since .lve seen her twice in concerts, have a whole bunch of her cd,s seen grease two many time to count please the others that bombed but I didn't care ,and now I found all this music ,have I died ,and gone to music heaven
Mega ditto on this awesome comment!😃👍💓
Classic. Thanks for upload. RIP Angel💖💐🕊️🌈
Silky smooth vocals. I'm in my 40s and ONJ has always been among my favorites. Thanks for sharing.
can anyone noticed how she dressed compare to theses days 💜💜 i will remember YOUR ANGELIC VOICE O NJ
So sad to hear that we just lost her on Monday...RIP Olivia 🙏
Nearly perfection...everthing about Olivia Newton-John seems too good to be true, and yet she is very real, very down-to-earth, utterly natural and spontaneous. So lovely a woman should live forever...Alas...
Olivia Newton-John is the most beautiful singer of all time!
We will miss her,a beautiful soul.
God Bless us Americans with her presence and the world.
She's singing in heaven for God
This is actually live without autotune and she sounds amazing. She was sch a part of my life.
Wow Olivia you really make me fly with that song singing to ME! Got tears knowing you left us and now you are our angel. How simple and powerful lyrics that make me fly (and cry) of happiness and a bit of sadness but we all will remember you with LOVE 💖
No auto - tune required.
+Patrick Buglass I noticed also :-P
BLESSED LOVING YOU. Angel SINGING GREAT SONGS. SHE BLESSED EVERYONE. FIRST TIME SEEING THIS. GREASE WAS AWESOME. GREAT FIGHT,HOSPITAL,MUSIC. VICTORIES WON RIP. THANK YOU LIV FOR YOUR LOVE, KINDNESS and SMILE,VOICE.❤️❤️❤️❤️😃😃😃😃☮️☮️☮️☮️🔥🔥🔥🌠🌠👍🖐️
What a beauty! And still is today. Simple, humble and sweet. everything we DONT see in music today. Love you OLIVIA!!
RIP to one of music's greatest songbirds. An absolute angel. And to be in the same space as Truman Capote. Oh man.
It has always amazed me that someone that sweet and beautiful and with such a precious voice can be real. Love her so much.
Loved her so much. Heartbroken shes gone. 💔 My favorite female songstress. Such a beauty. ❤️❤️
She was born to sing ! A true gift to the rest of us. :) There really is a God.
I absolutely did and do adore Olivia! I never will forget a critic once said of her...."If white bread could sing, it would sound like Olivia Newton-John!" I of course over the nearly 50 years I have followed her career, going to an early concert and seeing her in her Final Tour back in the 80s, I can laugh that comment away. She sure proved that person wrong! Plus others I am sure! Love Olivia!
RIP Olivia, such grace and talent.
She was such a beautiful lady and her voice was so sweet.
RIP beautiful lady...voice of an angel with no auto-tuning or lip-synching. She was a fighter and role model until the very end., 💖🙏
