auspec on parry--> parry---> gun strike---> melta shot for 125% dmg (100% from better auspec and 25% from dmg on gun strike) insanely good combo on warriors
A skill combo I don't see anyone talking about is what I use. Equip the perk which gives auspex on parry. Equip the perk which makes headshots instantly kill an extremis enemy. If you wait for and parry something like a liktor, it will receive the scan, then the follow up gunstrike will kill it instantly, since it counts as a headshot. As a bonus, you'll not have actively "used" your scan.
@PhaseShifter not what I mean, no. I do use the melta, but in your clip, you actively USE auspex, then shoot it, then take a MELEE finisher. With the perk combo in my comment, I just get the liktor's attention, parry the blue attack, or a regular attack if you're good enough, the parry itself adds an auspex scan, then we take a gunstrike. Because of those 2 perks and the gunstrike being a headshot, the liktor will drop immediately. Then you've still got your auspex, so can immediately use it on something else.

The only issue with running it on the parry is that you can't control when you applies if you're using a heavily parry focused setup. You will often slap a warrior instead during the 120 second window. If you use it without the auspex on parry you can be a little bit more selective if you wanna fish for those lictor, zoanthrope or rav deletes! It is incredibly satisfying when you get one nonetheless! Thanks for commenting and bringing this up!
@PhaseShifter that is true, but if you're running a tyranid mission, you'll be parrying near constantly anyway, so having the auspex pop for literally zero effort is nice, and it can instantly delete a huge threat. And you could always just use auspex regularly anyway. You'll be giving up what? An extra 75% damage, but it's only for like 4 seconds. Sometimes, I'll use that extra damage for 4 seconds, only to have to spend half that time panic rolling around. I'd rather have the parry auspex since it'll come in handy much more frequently. Was in a mission earlier, there was a pack of like 6 majoris and a lictor. The two other guys went down. Rather than panic rolling over and likely wiping the run, I stood my ground, waited for the liktor, parried, one shot it THEN scanned the other pack and meticulously dismantled. Very satisfying.

I prefer the perk when you reload automatic when you finish off an enemy so it works on mobs too. Helps keep me in the fight longer without needing to reload.

Yeah, not enough love was given to the tactical everybody was going for everything else. I started using it yesterday on my own that thing destroys that thing is nasty.
As a tactical player maxed out with relic weapons across the board I just don't see any weapon worth using except the melta rifle notable contenders are bolt rifle with grenade luncher and plasma excenirator. Use the perk that generates ammo 3rd line 3rd perk after every warrior or higher killed you refill your clip every 30 secs that is literally all you need to kill everything you come across by yourself .use any chain sword that has either balanced or fencing and learn to parry.
I've been playing the heavy class, and my favorite teammates have been tactical and assault classes. Tactical drops ospec, then him and I open fire while the assault jumps in and destroys them at close range. It's such a fun team competition.
As a fellow tactical i can recommend the boltrifle with grenade launcher or the Plasma gun, the lvl 20 perk restores all grenades in your bolter on majoris kill. With scan any majoris is a 1 shoot with it. if you run Plasma and Switch to your secondary when you kill a majoris you get full ammo every 30 seconds

I've maxed out my Tactical and it is one of the best classes to play! The character's movement is super agile with a plethora of primary weapon choices to pick from plus all the perks mentioned in this vid makes Tactical a must have class in the highest difficulty runs. It is so fun to play once you learn and understand the character's abilities.

Heavy Bolt Rifle not Bolt Rifle with Grenade Launcher? The magazine reload on Majoris kill perk also reloads your grenade launcher giving you significant burst damage throughput.

Would be great if you could explain how the parrying/dodging works. Since just clicking it when you think your going to get hit doesnt seem to do it most of the time.
I feel like this is just so hard to justify using over the melta. With melta it's easy to guarantee majoris kills to replenish a large magazine you just melee finish them off where with this gun you gotta kill them at range and hope your random teammates don't snipe the unit before you can kill it. Plus you gotta finish them at the end of that drum magazine to get the effect as far as I can tell which means you gotta have low ammo in the drum but just enough to finish them off. It's exhausting.
Im really interested in the stalker bolter for tac for some reason, with the ammo regen perk. (Or the smg, but built with the scope so its not an smg any more?) But I've also been wanting a heavy bolt rifle, so I'll level that one up :) Thanks for the vid
Powerful majoris weapon but mobs will overwhelm you and you dont have as much options like othe classes. Tactical is more about reducing big mobs before they reach you. When you start meleeing for the rotation, you preferably want a small group on you
Have you used this with damage numbers on to confirm if % increases are additive or multiplicative? Definitely still blowing things up with the current boosts but I could see some room for more mileage out of it if we find out its multiplicative and can reallocate a few of the skills.

I am getting to old for this style of gameplay. I tried to like the Tactical but I am just to slow for this game to get those parries timed properly, unless they are the telegraphed blue ones.
I'm a little slow myself, I skipped the fencing and went full damage with Bulwark and just hit the gun strikes with combos and dodge instead of hitting every parry. With Bulwark at least, you create gun strikes all the time so it works pretty well 🙂
@@TobiasRieper_87 The combo with gun strike is something that does work for me but depending on the class it can get you overrun because you are locked in those animations for longer than for a parry. I am just 15h into the game incl. story mode so there is still alot to learn.
Yo Logik! Welcome back! You gotta get the contested health system to activate by getting hit and gaining the white health bar! Then fire into groups with whatever weapon you're using. Melta and grenade launcher are particularly effective
Is anyone else having trouble getting gun strikes to trigger? I'll get thet red circle on enemy after dodging/parrying but when I try to gun strike I just shoot my primary like 3-5 times before the strike will trigger. Which usually means I just waste ammo and kill it with normal shots.
@@brandonlamb5694 you have to be looking at them well enough, they aren't as directionally forgiving as parries. Unless they're just out right not working for you sometimes?

Tactical is a gun class, why would you build a melee-focused gun class? I mean, you'd be taking your gun class and stepping in front of three melee classes to do it. I broke down, I bought the game. I regret it. So far, the first few hours feel like running around in one of those sumo wrestler suits with a plastic baseball bat.
Yo Fishrokk! It can be built in a variety of ways, many of the skills buff gunstrike and that in part buffs your overall firepower damage so it is in your best interests to weave between both. There have been many instances where I've been coming out with the most kills and around 15 - 16k dps. If played correctly you can permanently be pushing damage out from any position. It's a really synergistic class! Stick with it mate! It gets very good. I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as I am now having stuck with it!

Yeah, melta is goated for sure. I wanted to try something less common and this is what came out. Melta is on the menu though :)

I do the same, though I pray to God, someone doesn't take Tactical from me because at this point I just see Sniper as worse then Tactical overall.
@Esteban-nk3nm sniper is more like an assassin with cloak spam if specced right. For mobs, you have to reposition and work getting the cloak back

Reduce the mobs before you start meleeing them. Try out the bolt rifle with grenade launcher or melta
Wow wait a sec! If I read correctly the marked for death tool tip that mean you can 1 shot a carnifex? Or those Are boss lvl and not extremist?

I had a problem with them on controller, but not with mouse and keyboard, so that's weird
@@brandonlamb5694 you have to be looking at them well enough, they aren't as directionally forgiving as parries. Unless they're just out right not working for you sometimes?
It does happen sometimes and I think it's a bug.

Tactical is a gun class, why would you build a melee-focused gun class? I mean, you'd be taking your gun class and stepping in front of three melee classes to do it.
I broke down, I bought the game. I regret it. So far, the first few hours feel like running around in one of those sumo wrestler suits with a plastic baseball bat.
Yo Fishrokk! It can be built in a variety of ways, many of the skills buff gunstrike and that in part buffs your overall firepower damage so it is in your best interests to weave between both. There have been many instances where I've been coming out with the most kills and around 15 - 16k dps. If played correctly you can permanently be pushing damage out from any position. It's a really synergistic class!
Stick with it mate! It gets very good. I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much as I am now having stuck with it!
