@@Reversi237 Fencing increases the window you have for a perfect parry, making it easier to stagger swarms around you and get gun strikes on larger enemies. Balanced has a tighter window but you get increased stats elsewhere, whereas block style makes it so you can't get a perfect parry at all which in turn makes it harder to deal with majoris enemies like the 'nid warriors since you can't get gun strikes to quickly get them into execution range. Only way to get a gun strike with block style melee weapons is with dodges and bulwark has nothing to increase perfect dodge windows, unlike assualt.

@@Cinnamontoast_69 Power Rake is the heavy upward slash you do when performing a heavy attack during a combo. 31:25 It doesn't switch your combat style if you attack - delay - attack, it just does an AoE attack. To switch combat style on the fly, you need to dodge then do a charged attack, it has a special animation that does all very swiftly. Else you gotta hold melee while not engaging which is a bit clunky. 31:40 No, Power Whirl stance is the stance you take when you're in the pause part of attack - pause - attack of the AoE combo (the Power Whirl). While your character is pausing is in a different stance, during that time you can't be knocked back with this perk. Very useful.
Yeah someone else corrected me on that too. I got the whirl confused with the other attack! Appreciate the detailed correction and keeping me honest brother :)
With intimidating aura i found that it causes the chances of giving you a gun strike against more powerful enemies when you perfect parry them to be a lot lower, other sources like knocking smaller enemies down or perfect dodges are still the same.
Best guide by far- and i saw many. Because you are talking about the beginning too, not just endgame builds. Thanks for that brother, loving the bullwark but im really struggeling with the block/parry window so far. Emperor protects!
My pleasure my dude!! It take a long time to grind to 25 if you don't have a consistent crew that can do Ruthless, so I'd rather give you the steps to success rather than the finished product!

I don't like the shock/damage area perks because it kills enemies who can be executed-just food for thought. I like shoring up the Bulwork's ability to deal with Bosses instead. Great video, I'm looking forward to other Space Marine 2 class guides you release!
Just be aware, the consumable shock grenade hurts you. So don't walk into it thinking it's like your abilities like me only to start shouting "Oh Emperor why am I dying!?"

My man here rocking the Black Templar Sword Brethren! I love it. Great video thanks for all the info! I'm at 22 with my bulwark and looking to get better with the gameplay to get into Ruthless
You shut it. Fist and talons are god tier weapons unlike yet another piece of thin metal It's should've been the power axe instead of the blue chainsword wannabe.
I really like how you explained things in more then are & would be. Meaning: some perks are situational & would hinder you for 120 seconds. I like these build videos because gives me thought out choice, even if I decide to not use it & decide to use some other weapon or perk. At least I know what I gain or lose. If you're going to do a lot 40KSpM2 vids I'll sub for sure.
The sword is a great choice since you can swap from slow swings crowd clearing or fast swings single target plus it just looks cooler than the other options, looking at you rubber glove. Ive never had a problem with parrying with the sword especially when you get fencing on it.
Armor of contempt is actually really strong - run up to a spawn, hold block, and let the ranged damage being hurled at you reflext as an AoE on everything within 10 meters. It'll kill all of the minoris in the spawn in about 3-4 hits and do pretty nice damage to the majoris as well, sometimes being enough damage to put them into executable status. Now, if you need to parry or dodge, drop the block key, but until then, keep your shield up and watch the little guys just melt from their friend's fire - the emperor provides!
Hey man love your videos, loved following yoir ultimate guides, especially bulwark, used your guide to properly understand the class and love it! Any chance of an ultimate sniper guide? Keep.up the good work! Courage and Honor!

I’m only at Substantial difficulty so my opinions may change, but so far the swords have been outclassing the fist for me. Fist is great, don’t get me wrong, but I’ve yet to get a feel for when/how best to use the charge mechanic. The chain sword having a standing heavy punch is great for turning those annoying shield demons into free armor packs and still has plenty of wave clear. The power sword took a while to get a hang of, but having the flexibility to be an AoE blender or an inescapable pursuer is phenomenal for flexing to different situations. I’m sure I’ll figure it out on my own with time, but I hope to see more of your streams and learn to love fisting. 😏
I think Perfect parry with the dropped Shock grenade disables the gunstrike. I have noticed this especially with Tyranid warriors. The first perfect parry gives the shock AOE, but no gunstrike. If I do another parry, I get a gun strike.
Hey thanks for the video :) My main is the bullwork with the explosion build and I love the flow states you've been talking about! Though I love the versatility of the power sword more :p Anyway I would've loved to see how you properly use your build on real hordes of enemies. I use the same build and hoped to see more details and how it works. Best regards
Since putting Intimidating Aura on I have noticed I don't get Gun Strikes on my parries. I was wondering what was going on as other classes still got Gun Strikes. Didn't put two and two together myself but I haven't gotten Gun Strikes on parries (still get them for dodges) since moving to Initiating Aura.
Not sure if it's a bug or a feature - but if you swap the load-out (even if you choose the same set you are using) in small drop-pod in mission, you regain full health (mortal wounds are not cleared). Just on bulwark, no other class do that for me.
It's a bug, I didn't want to highlight it. We think it's link to one of thr perks because it wasn't always like that. It started one day randomly during the creator early access period
Power sword definitely takes a bit getting used to but I ended up preferring it, once you get down to using the power mode and become fluent changing stances that's when the weapon begins to shine.
Yea i prefer going the top row on perks. The 5th speed strike is a sword slam similar to foot slam. Looks badass and its an aoe slam, so cool. Plus i dont really use my power stance much anyway. And i use the fencing relic power sword. Fencing is extremely forgiving, you can mash that thing most of the time n ur good, but dont rely on it, actually try to get good parring properly.
Intimidating Aura removes perfect parry gunstrikes. I only get gunstrikes from heavy attacking mobs and from perfect dodges now. Perfect parry still stuns but no longer offers up a gunstrike.
@@italianspartacus you never parry gunstrike majoris enemies. Minoris can be gunstruck whenever they take enough damage/knockback to get knocked down, which is what we see in your footage, but Intimidating Aura disables gunstrikes on parrying Majoris enemies. go test it out on warriors and you'll see neither the telegraphed or normal parries result in gunstrikes.
@@italianspartacus Can confirm that fangzor is correct here. I think it's intentional too, because the parry essentially fires off an AOE gunshot. Taking the talent increased my average damage by like 80%.
Bulk is very very strong in pve. Can full heal himself and anyone, kills trash like no other class, parry lord, huge survivability, can hold much agro on self. Great class!
I think you got your terms mixed up on the Power Sword section. Changing sword styles is when you hold light attack from neutral to switch from Power Mode to Speed Mode. You can do that on the run but it lowers your shield (you can raise it again without stopping your sprint by holding guard), so you take ranged attacks in the interim. The perk reduces that pain point. Power Whirl is when you pause after an attack and do your two-hit spin combo finisher, so the other perk prevents you from being interrupted.
You should showcase the top perk tree for power sword. The light attack 30% damage increase is only 3 seconds, but if you stay in combat it’s op against majoris enemies. Becomes a 1-2 hit plus parry to take out a majoris and can be repeated back to back when they group up. Add that shock build in on parries and sometimes they just instantly pop after a parry alone.
I originally had that planned but playing ruthless, I don't get chances to get 10 unmitigated swings out without having to parry, defend, and use my shock aura
@@italianspartacus That’s fair. It’s probably due to differing play styles now that I think about it. I’ve been mixing vanguard and bulwark so it’s the hack and slash tendency taking over my monke brain paired with the infinite health banners. Food for thought though, you can spam the parry button and parry multiple enemies at once.
Hum so is it harder to parry using the power sword?. Like most of the time i can do the blue parry but I can’t do it with the basic attacks (those that don’t have the blue shine), can someone explain me how to do it? Because I can do it perfectly with the chainsword but not with the power sword due to how the parry changes between weapons (I mean yeah i can block the attacks with the shield but it does that animation of getting pushed
Tactical, bulwark, heavy is the best combo imo. Tatcical max with heavy bolt rifle is insanely good with auspex upgrade, and 30% contested health regen, with bulwarks slowed contested health upgrade and the banner upgrade, heavy with the multi melta
Seems it's an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE the Sword. The stance switching and the delayed super slam attack is so badass. Even better with the perk that makes it uninterruptable
Bulwark seems like the most popular class currently. I just can't ever level it up, every lobby already has one. I'm also leveling up Tactical (Sniper was my first/only 25) and I feel like every lobby is me plus Bulwark plus Assault. People like melee weapons! The power sword finishers are so satisfying.............
Just a couple of corrections, For the Power Sword the Attack, delay, attack doesnt switch stances it just does a small AoE like the Assault does, its just really poorly worded. And for the Power Sword perk Tranquility its not for Power stance, its for the above attack specifically which can otherwise be interrupted because its so long
After putting on intimidating aura I’ve noticed I don’t get as many gun strikes, which makes me wonder if it is setting the “gun strike” window to default to “balanced” despite me using a fencing weapon
i already maxed out heavy bulwark tactical and assault and with over 200 pvp matches plaid bulwark and assault are so much fun when you learn how to play their roles respectively! last night i went 25-6 with 2 assists on assault work hard brothers and a killing machine you will become
I think you may need to reread while in Power Whirl Stance. The Whirl part is the important part. I don' t think this is the power/speed stance change you toggle by holding RMB. I think this is the position you end up in when you attack once, the blade shines, and if you wait and attack again you whirl, jump, and come down with an aoe. I think it just prevents you from being interrupted when you are in the position before the jump. I have been interrupted in that position, I think its to stop that so you can always whirl.
Getting that one useless HP trait on the pistol just to get a bit more ammo instead of going for a potential 70% increase to headshot damage is WILD. To help with the "skill-issue" of power sword, knowing that doing a heavy attack while dodging mid-combat to change mode as needed helps a lot (the in-game tool-tip doesn't explain it well)
So basically the 2 ways to change stance are either do a heavy outside of any combo (just holds the sword out with no attack) and then also do a heavy right as you dodge?

You don't have to stand still, just not be in a dodge or attack. You can swap while sprinting or walking.
@@seajaydub6941 Thank you, I changed the wording to "while not engaging" instead. Completely misworded it lol.
Yeah someone else corrected me on that too. I got the whirl confused with the other attack! Appreciate the detailed correction and keeping me honest brother :)
@@italianspartacus We all got your back, brother :)
My dude. As a black templar tabletop player you already know i chose the bulwark and those beautiful black and white colors. Add a splash of red in there for my gangsters. Warhammer community is the coolest
I made him a sword brethren as well my brother!
I subscribed as soon as I heard the words, “…nah, fuck that shit. You bought a game; you play it how you want.” I love bulwark and this was super helpful with giving me some ideas for builds I’d like to try when I get the class fully leveled.
yeah man, too many tryhards out there! Just enjoy yourself!!
@@italianspartacus I definitely have been. 🤘🏻 Nothing is more satisfying than hold a capture zone against 3 marines just to have my buddies come mow them down. I love bulwark. ❤️
Love the format, the honesty, the pace, and the info. Great job. Thank you.
Love when a UA-camr gives me the short version first and details later, ty
Love the info dump at the start of the video. Watched to the end anyway but yes more of this
Super helpful guide, gives me a lot to chew on! I hope you do guides like this for all the classes
Working on tactical now :)
Good recap and total coverage. Keep it up and ty
Brilliantly done!!!! This is how you do a build guide. Level by level.
I didn’t watch you before this. Great information, great attitude. I feel inspired to make my own build with the information provided!
My favorite thing about this game (other than it's fun as hell) is reading a lot of comments of ppl saying they're not into 40k but are now absorbing lore and books. I love it! Still can't convince my friends to play for some reason haha.
I like bulwark cuz his drip is unstoppable. Like an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object.
I don't like the shock/damage area perks because it kills enemies who can be executed-just food for thought. I like shoring up the Bulwork's ability to deal with Bosses instead.
Great video, I'm looking forward to other Space Marine 2 class guides you release!
Subbed instantly. Thank you bro, was starting to feel super discouraged on this class lol
Fencing power sword is great, long parry window and all i have to do is 1 tap powered melee and gun point finish small bug for armor
Just be aware, the consumable shock grenade hurts you. So don't walk into it thinking it's like your abilities like me only to start shouting
"Oh Emperor why am I dying!?"
HAHAHAHA
Been waiting on this one! Have focused more of mastering my Bulwark in PvP, but ready to dive into Operations.
Great Video! I started Bulwark last night, been maining Tactical. Trying the power fist I couldn't see the ability to deal with numbers in it but I get it now! Very helpful video!
Glad I could help battle brother!
My man here rocking the Black Templar Sword Brethren! I love it. Great video thanks for all the info! I'm at 22 with my bulwark and looking to get better with the gameplay to get into Ruthless
Another consummate guide.
Wasnt going to roll a Bulwark until some time down the road, seemed intimidating, thanks for the inspiration
I wish the sword was better. I wanna look like a badass with a sword with this guy, not a lame fist lol.
You shut it. Fist and talons are god tier weapons unlike yet another piece of thin metal
It's should've been the power axe instead of the blue chainsword wannabe.
I don’t get it literally all these weapons are good, plus power fists are cool as shit 😭
Is the power fist better? I'm using the sword right now.
@@Lastsight100 I think it’s about your play style for sure. Personally I love the sword
Only the blade brings joy
Thanks for the tips. Also cool to see an correctly painted Black Templar Bulwark
Omidon here, thank you for continuing to provide great content and I’m looking forward to future badassery. Keep rocking it
Omidon!!
38:33 Preach brother. Space Marines are not supposed to be slow clumsy boys, they are high speed low drag heavy weight blender men
I really like how you explained things in more then are & would be.
This vid is great. I love this class. You're right the fist is so much easier to parry with.
The sword is a great choice since you can swap from slow swings crowd clearing or fast swings single target plus it just looks cooler than the other options, looking at you rubber glove. Ive never had a problem with parrying with the sword especially when you get fencing on it.
Def been waiting for this one. Loving the Bulwark and I am only level 3. Keep up the amazing work.
Why can no other class use the power sword?
Liked and Subbed in large part because you added a TLDW. It means you respect my time. And time is the most precious thing we have.
After experimenting with the sword, switching can be done after a dash and after a parry which helps the flow of combat a lot.
You're making great content man. Keep it keep!
Haha I had no idea about the banner. I could not work out why, I was like is it a bug! And now I know. Thank you 🙏
It looks like the bug was fixed! Basically the bug turned on the perk at lvl 23 permanently!
Liked and subscribed just for the no bull start. Thank you.
Happy to help brother! :)
started with leveling Sniper (was hard, I'm bad & dumb) but Bulwark just clicks way faster, great fun! good guide!
Im so excited for this game I don't have enough money right now but one day I too will serve the EMPEROR! Love ya great video as always.
Hey man love your videos, loved following yoir ultimate guides, especially bulwark, used your guide to properly understand the class and love it! Any chance of an ultimate sniper guide? Keep.up the good work! Courage and Honor!
Yessir! Getting it done ASAP!
@italianspartacus forgive my while I fangirl over a youtber actually replying to a comment 🤣Love ya work sir, always refreshing to see someone love the content they bang out , cant wait for the next one 💪See you on the battle barge
Hahaha thank you dude!! Feel free to join the discord and get some games with the folk!
Thanks for this. Great video. Super respectful and concise. Liked and subscribed.
I have yet to play bulwark, but I really appreciate all the work you put into these videos, Spartacus.
I think Perfect parry with the dropped Shock grenade disables the gunstrike. I have noticed this especially with Tyranid warriors. The first perfect parry gives the shock AOE, but no gunstrike. If I do another parry, I get a gun strike.
Hey thanks for the video :)
My main is the bullwork with the explosion build and I love the flow states you've been talking about! Though I love the versatility of the power sword more :p
Anyway I would've loved to see how you properly use your build on real hordes of enemies. I use the same build and hoped to see more details and how it works.
Best regards
What an awesome Guide! Thnx a lot, exactly what I needed! you sir, earned you a new sub ;)
Love this deep dive! Good job
I haven't played through the classes yet but so far bulwark feels the most like what I expect a space marine to be.
You'll see footage near the end that shows me doing it with that perk active. I can't figure out why it works for some and not others
Bro, you put it all the front. What a homie. Watched the whole video tho.
Easily one of the best space marine streamers
Great guide battle brother!
Sword and board FTW BROTHER 🤘🏻
Should be noted the shock field generated by the level 11 ability as of this time does stagger smaller enemies out of the gun strike ready state.
This madlad is using the power fist
Tactical, bulwark, heavy is the best combo imo. Tatcical max with heavy bolt rifle is insanely good with auspex upgrade, and 30% contested health regen, with bulwarks slowed contested health upgrade and the banner upgrade, heavy with the multi melta
Did they change the full bar of contested health when dropping the banner? Or is that a perk to buy? That hasn’t been working for me.
Great video, I’ll be watching for all classes if you’re going to do them 🫡
Seems it's an unpopular opinion, but I LOVE the Sword.
Thank you for this guide my brother
Just a couple of corrections, For the Power Sword the Attack, delay, attack doesnt switch stances it just does a small AoE like the Assault does, its just really poorly worded.
And for the Power Sword perk Tranquility its not for Power stance, its for the above attack specifically which can otherwise be interrupted because its so long
Well shit that changed! Thank you for keeping me honest bro! Apologies for the misinformation
@italianspartacus No worries, excellent video otherwise just those two poorly worded in game descriptions that confused me at first as well!
Does shock and awe apply to allies shock nades?
Unfortunately no. That'd be sick though
Thank you brother ❤
Quick question, does gun strike reload "create" ammo from thin air, or does it reload your weapon with your current reserves?
Getting that one useless HP trait on the pistol just to get a bit more ammo instead of going for a potential 70% increase to headshot damage is WILD.
To help with the "skill-issue" of power sword, knowing that doing a heavy attack while dodging mid-combat to change mode as needed helps a lot (the in-game tool-tip doesn't explain it well)
So basically the 2 ways to change stance are either do a heavy outside of any combo (just holds the sword out with no attack) and then also do a heavy right as you dodge?
I never knew this
Oh thanks for pointing that out. I've gotten pretty proficient but that will make things easy smoother.
Now if I can make shield bash soothe
