You heard wrong and have made unjust uneducated comments. Talk about trash. I live 20 minutes from lake Butler, and it's well kept, with accommodating residents. Yes the FDC is the largest employer like in many small North Florida towns. I retired from one of them myself. You however sound like you were in the wrong side of the fence at one time.

This place sucks. I stubbed my toe in the court house, and I have hated it since. Not much to do here. I rate this 1/5 stars. I’m waiting for a Walmart to be built on the barber shop and all of those terrible stores no one knows exist. I recommend you don’t get within 1000 feet within this place.
It's been many years since I been to Lake Butler, and it hasn't changed much.
