With RCA cable one side ( connecting on tuner out ) and regular standard jack on the other side ( connecting to the smart Phone, caution - not suitable for iPhone )

Yes , it sounds boomy and you can adjust it as you want. Less boomy is possible too. It depends of your amplificator also.
