Said this once before, but you two brighten my day every time I click on your videos. As I said before, she reminds me of my daughter at this age so much. My daughter is in college now, but I got to see her this past weekend, which did me good. You two are a delight-please keep it up! 😊
OMG - Zoe & Shawn - you are such a cute reaction duo, and I'm glad to see how much fun Zoe has doing this! Hope there will be more with both of you! Super-catchy song... once you've heard it, you just can't erase it anymore... in general with SD - they are so unique... once you discover them, there's no turning back anymore - you have crossed the Dan-horizon for good... God bless... 💖
Love Steely Dan and this song in particular. Great pick, guys. Always happy to tune into the Zoey and Shawn show, it makes my day better. Blessings all.
I always liked this song. It came out right after I got out the Navy and was working third shift. I'd hear it 3 or 4 times a night at it's peak, but I liked it enough that I didn’t get tired of it! Another very entertaining reaction by Shawn and Zoey.
Love you two together! Zoey is so sweet! Shawn…. It would be hysterical if you played for her the live version of “Hocus-pocus” by Focus. You did that awhile back… I would LOVE to see Zoey’s reaction to THAT one! 😀 Also, Shawn, as I’ve said in the past…watching your true & pure appreciation for each nugget of creativity & talent is awesome!
Thanks for reacting to one of my favorite songs and favorite guitar solos ever! When the lists come out for the greatest guitar players of all time, how many times is Elliot Randall mentioned? Never. Yet, for me, his work on this song alone should put him on the list.
This is awfully highbrow stuff for a thirteen year old girl. I remember when my roommate brought this record home just after it came out and put it on the turntable. I'd never heard it or anything like it. Hard to believe it was over 50 years ago. That whole album is GOLD!
Girl, these guitars absolutely have flavor. As your dad guides you, it’s important to develop a large vocabulary to describe music. How else can you speak about it intelligently. “Flavors” are an awesome way to describe musical elements.
@@RandomPau I'm not telling any parent how they should raise their kid(s). That being said, She naturally was curious about the album cover. She spent a great deal of time talking about it. I think her natural curiosity shouldn't be overlooked that's all.
Such a classic of the 70's. It would be considered as soft rock, but it can cross-over to yacht rock or adult contemporary. There are so many songs I'd like to recommend, but for now, check out the Bellamy Brothers with "Let Your Love Flow". It totally warms my heart to watch Zoey getting a lesson in music that us "old" folks grew up with.
You must have a beautiful wife, because that girl is way better looking than you. Kidding aside, I love the songs you're getting Suggestions to, Like wasted words, Pony Boy. none of the other reactionists are in that circle. love watching you RE-discover The music we grew up with, and now you HAVE an excellent sidekicK. Pardon the punctuation something's wrong with my keyboard
I would listen to music with my daughter, well many years ago now. Great memories
Great job pausing it, girl! 😎
I LOVE your father daughter connection, beautiful.

That guitar solo. Elliot Randall😊 Amazing guitar
Not just guitars, all music has, 'flavors.' These are some very tasty solos.
She said that, and I cracked up, then she looked straight at me and I felt guilty.
Steely Dan great classic music of the 70s
Zoey, can you capture all your great energy into jars and sell it to us older folks out here? 😂😂I love Steely Dan. Thank you, Shawn and Zoey!! 💙💜

OMG! Hi Shawn, & Zoey! I am subscribing because Zoey stole my heart. She is adorable, pretty and cute to the max!
Listening to a whole song requires more patience than little Zoe can muster. She's like a well-rested puppy!
Becker...a fantastic guitarist and Fagan...a great keyboardist. This is, no doubt, one of their best hits ever...🎤🎹🎸
Shawn, you're so good at reacting AND being a great dad! Zoey - personality plus!
Ooooh them 70’s‼️ Damn we had some fun! ✌🏻😎

I love that you are doing this with your daughter. Expanding her musical knowledge is a great thing. I have dont the same thing with my son.
Possibly my favourite Dan track 😊 great air guitar to do
Might still be my favorite SD song. (And yes, guitars have flavor...)

Yes the guitar work is also called tasty.
The type of song you play while driving in your vehicle taking a little drive
I was just thinking of how I was just about Zoey's age when this song hit the radio, "Back in the day" 🙂

This is early Steely Dan - they dominated FM radio with songs like this and MY OLD SCHOOL, and RIKKI DON'T LOSE THAT NUMBER back in the early '70s.
Shawn,Zoe is a great young lady.I raised 3 boys and would have loved raising a daughter.
Beautiful bonding...

My favorite guitar solo.
'...not much of a girlfriend, I never seem to get a lot.' Love that you like Supertramp, Zoe. They are my favourite band.
Great song and glad your daughter could have fun enjoying this gem with you❤I think your daughter would like the song Black Cow from the Aja album!

You might send her into a trance if you play Do It Again
Zoey will be a future member of SNL...... after seeing some videos.... got the gab.... cool girl!!!!!!!
This guitar is butterscotch.
Their first hit on that album was do it again
The name of Steely Dan's genre is "Steely Dan"
Well there you go introduce some more songs to her from Steely Dan
brilliant
Does anybody have the moxie to explain to Zoe how Steely Dan got their name? 😊
Best Band Ever !
HBO 2 hour special on Yacht Rock. Worth the watch.
Walter Becker was an interesting man
Zoey "Guitars don't have flavors." Ah youth, just a little bit left to learn.
Ummm, what are you talking about "guitars don't have flavors" ? All instruments have flavors, I think you may have a little bit left to learn.
I think your daughter would enjoy watching Maisie Star fade into you with you
❤❤❤❤😊
You need to introduce your daughter to Boston.
Check out My Old School. I think it is the best by Steely Dan.
when i you going to react to the archies sugar sugar video or recording and also your daughter will like the turtles happy together or the monkees !
This is what is called,
"Yacht Music"
Heck Yeah
❤😊
Try playing Hideaway from Mayall's first Bluesbreakers lp for her.
NO sugar 30 minutes before video time............................Sheesh!
Don't tell her why the group is called Steely Dan. If she asks, well you're on your own.
You guys are charming and endearing but ... there's always a but ... I'm not sure Zoe is ready.
The cover is a little more adult orientated then you might like for your daughter AS is the group name.
He can just focus on the music and the unique sounds they produced.
Many hit songs by them.

@@allengardner4672 And she seems to act much younger than 13 as well............

Don't forget, Steely Dan is named after a sex toy. LOL. Just don't tell Zoey.

dad , no point in arguing with Zoe , you already lost !
Of all things, this brings Thin Lizzy to mind. :)
Respectfully, i won't watch anymore
Try to react to Stevie Ray Vaughan what I think is the best guitar player in the world
He has, seven of them in fact
Open mouth, insert foot there Shawn.
ALL instruments have flavor young lady.
