I would like to add that the reason why some games look/run bad on series s is bcs games are still cross gen this year and game engines being used in games were made during the last generation, meaning they were engineered to handle the best of last gen and not the full extent of this generation. the allocation of graphics last generation were the main priority of last generation (graphics were a main priority instead of the cpu bound 60 fps) last generation the innovation was a constant clear image with THIS set of frames. They aren't fully optimized with this generation of technology. The Xbox series' full Rdna features are not being used, or to be more specific, not all of them are being used. most games aren't using the full extent of power the velocity architecture cpu and the rdna 2 features of the gpu bring. when these two things finally start being FULLY used by gaming developers u should have a more games on series s that will be 60 fps with raytracing with a HD or Ultra HD resolution. ppl and devs are trying to drop the requirement to develop for series s when, I think, we'll get innovation in game engineering bcs of it.

It also depends on your Internet Speed, I had regular speed at 20mb, I found that my Internet very slow, but sense I switch to a better internet provider 1TB up and download High Speed very fast.
Bungie seems to think otherwise. The memory bus on the Series S is just too much of a bottleneck.

They are both great the Xbox Series S shocked me when X and PS5 was very difficult to get. The small powerful next gen with GAMEPASS held us down during Covid, now I have a series X I really enjoyed the S was able to trade for and X. Bless Up

They’re essentially the same but with one having a disc drive and a little more power… honestly I think Microsoft made a mistake by releasing the Series S they should have went the PlayStation route with disc and no disc drive with same power.

I have the Series S and I'm cool with it. It would have been nice if Microsoft made a digital version of the Series X. The PS5 has a digital and physical system with the same specs.

I'm going for the S, I'm a PC gamer and older now and tried of messing with computers...when i come home from a long days work, I want to boot up and play. The PC I have now cant play next gen games it would cost over a grand to replace. I have 3 kids and I cant do that any more. This will be just fine use it on my UHD 28" gaming monitor cant wait got GTA6.... plus MSGP is a great deal for a year at 120$. Good video thanks.
I'm also a PC gamer whose PC is aging out of the current gen and I feel the same way. Plus, it's not a great time to be buying PC parts. Back when I got into PC, budget PC builds could easily outperform consoles. That's not true anymore. If you built a PC the price of a Series S, you wouldn't be getting Series S performance on current gen titles... and the Series S is pretty underpowered.
I need to comment because i have had both and have chosen the series s over the x. 1: it’s cheaper 2: it’s slimmer and more sexier 3: it’s digital and i hate the disc drive look and 4: barley any games even run at 4k at high frames and even the games that do run at 4k yes they may look sexy but the frame-rate is either 60-30 fps and if you ask me i don’t really care for the graphics stand point as a game that runs at 1440p and 120 fps looks more sexier than 4k at 60-30 like we just aren’t at that time period where 4k games really matter but we are starting to make them i would say you should go for the series s and when the next xbox comes out then yes pay more for the more advanced system if there’s 2 which there will probably be because by then when it comes out 4k gaming will just be starting to become a average thing so just get a 1440p monitor and the series s and call it a day and save money and have that sexy console on your does then that bull fat thick console on your desk like i hate the way the series x look and you may either hate my opinion or love it but at the end of the day this is your choice and opinion on what to get and don’t let my opinion change your’s but let it be in the back of your mind as in what i say is right and h might change your mind h might not who knows but happy gaming everyone!

Here is the deal, the ps5 is still a loud console. You might not hear it first but after a year or 2 it gets louder just like the ps4 pro. On the other hand the series s and the x is so quiet that I had to shine a light inside it to check whether the fans are working or not. Definitely the xbox has the more solid consoles again. Gamepass is awesome too. Ps5 has better exclusives however. xbox needs really needs some awesome system sellers. Give me my Banjo 3 man!😃

here is the down fault with the series s it only comes in Digital, so lets say if you lose your internet you cannot play offline Digital games, I have the Series X and I have GTA 5 in Digital and last week my Internet company was doing upgrades and i Lost my internet , I tried to play Story mode of GTA 5 it wouldn't let me play it said that i had to Sign In to my Xbox, so then i went out and bought a GTA 5 Disc just to play story mode until the Internet came back on , but the disc worked great no issues.
I’m newbie on Xbox things, my question is, does disc games already a plug and play and no additional files to download unlike digital games?

I ended up with Series S. Moving to Series X would mean a $1500 TV on top of the console price. Game pass was a no brainer for me. Starfield and Cyberpunk look and play miles better in 1080p mode. With 4K unchecked
I have the series s and Im definitely looking forward to upgrade. The S is definitely good for a lot more games than its given credit for but there are particular games that I am not happy with the visual presentation at all.

I got my series x for 250 pounds refurbished but came with a 6 month warranty I don't think it was used much it was emaculate

What would I get because I have a 1080p monitor not 4K and plan on playing Fortnite and COD and want 120fps what should I get? Also I’m not that much of a casual gamer and really get into gaming so what should I get?
Might be a controversial take, but you should get a PC. If you're only gaming in 1080p and primarily playing Fortnite and COD, it won't take an expensive PC to get high framerates. The Series S is also a good choice, but I doubt you can lower the render resolution. So the framerate will probably be lower for extra pixels that aren't being used.
I have the series s...I absolutely love it...but its been 2 years I'm looking to upgrade. I have a memory expansion but i hate moving games back and forth.

I have both PS5 and Series S. I seriously don't want to sound like an spoiled adult but anyone looking forward to buy a Series S let me tell you one thing straight. Buy PS5 or Series X if you have the money and if patience is your virtue. Don't get me wrong, Series S performs good for the price, in fact all the 1st party Microsoft exclusives are really well optimised. But and a big but, I highly doubt that all the 3rd party developers will treat Series S with the respect and dignity it deserves, specially when Microsoft did a stupidity by not making a dedicated developer's kit for Series S. So with Series S, you will basically play a graphically inferior version of the game for the same subscription price or purchase price.
I have used both PS5 and Series S on my 4k TV and on my 1080p 144hz monitor. It's not just about the 4k resolution but even on my 1080p monitor, PS5 version of a game looks noticeably sharper with better graphical fidelity and draw distance. So spend the extra money and buy one of those powerful system, they're worth it. Saying "Series S is basically a 1080p/1440p 60 FPS Series X" is a misconception and a bit too optimistic.
I don't want to demean Series S owners, it's a good system and if it's really serving you well, then who the hell am I to say anything? But this comment is specifically for anyone looking forward to buy Series S, just be aware of the compromises you are making because at the end, it's your hard earned money. Series S is strictly for casual/leisure gamers or for someone on a very VERY tight budget.

I'm in two minds...i would ideally like the X, but as my children are young, they destroy my disks by taking them out of their cases and messing with them. Recently I couldn't find a PS4 disc and I found it outside in the garden as he was using it as a frisbee.

true, it doesn't matter how you run the game . your saved progress will be downloaded as soon as you start the game.

I am poor. I play on a 1080p 120hz screen. I just saved up for the Series X and it looks so good. Series S is weaker and will look like shit in 1080p compared to Series X. Series X has higher and more stable fps and the draw distant and textures is much better. Series X is only like 100$ more or 50$ more than black Series S

And also once the games have been transferred and I start to play on one of the transferred games on the Xbox series x and I save it will it still save on the console it was transferred from or no

While Microsoft promised us parity on releases, it is now Sony and Bungie that have revealed the first game, that I know of anyways, that will release on Series X but not Series S. Seems like the Series S may not be able to keep up.

But now with the Series X my playback Video's are 1080p60 HD you can see a really big difference .

There's not much difference in graphics because all of those games were designed for old gen. Games that are designed for next gen like GTA 6, will have a big difference from series s and x.

Xbox Series X because of faster loading times and stable frame rates... PS5 is losing more components but the price is getting higher.. and it looks like a toy

The exclusives on xbox are dogshit in comparison to Playstation. Coming from an xbox guy. What title does xbox have to rival sony? Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite? Absolute garbage in comparison to God of War Ragnarok. That game alone sells PS5 consoles. What's the point in having "the world's most powerful console" when there's no definitive title on it? It's relying on previous hit titles like Gears of War and Forza to stay relevant but the new Gears games suck compared to the original trilogy and not everyone is a car fan. I like backwards compatibility, in fact, it's fantastic. But to rely on it almost entirely defeats the purpose of new and improved hardware.
Not everyone wants to hear this, but as good of a deal as gamepass is, it slows the production of good quality games being released. They've become lazy because they know that money is going to come in. So what's the urgency in releasing a new game? It's no longer priority. Games as a subscription service ruins any creativity and uniqueness. Remember how on 360 and PS3 there was always a great triple A game coming out every 3 to 6 months and they were actually FUN?? What the hell happened? Did we just forget how to make good games? Simple answer, No. They just became even more greedy and lazy. And games as a service only makes it worse.
Plus when you own the service you don’t even own the game so it doesn’t feel right honestly

Nah the series s has its place in the console market it’s just the price needs to come down more. $299 is still too high to warrant getting the series s over the x. I think if the price comes down to $199 (I just bought a series s through Verizon for $150) I think that would be more enticing for casuals and gamers on a budget.
SS is just an Xbox One (OLD) with higher FPS. And even lower resolutions in many cases, not sure how anyone thinks that's an UPGRADE?
