A true classic on a budget that would not pay for catering on set nowadays. Based on the fantastic novel I AM LEGEND By Richard Matheson. Vincent Price was always convincing in nearly every role he played. I would not have cast him for this part and yet he is just about perfect in this movie. He seemed like a man with a conscience and before the movie ends it is pretty obvious he has regrets. It's also conveyed that the new society will not be much of an improvement over the prior one. Has tragedy in the conclusion. Clearly had heavy influence on the end of THE OMEGA MAN with Heston. I always enjoyed Vincent Price when he played ordinary men in extraordinary situations. Price was typecast as the mega villain and made a lot of money in those films but he is really good just playing decent people who don't have all the answers.

they weren't going to ruin a nice moment with such insignificance as not being killed
I love the feel of these old movies.
Any movie where Vincent Price has played a role you can count on a non Disney ending!!! His movies are always the best bed time stories!!! From Fall of The House Of Usher on to this one!!! Great bedtime stories of misery and woe!! Mmmhhhmmmm makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
You are nuts, Phil. Get out into the sunshine and get a life.
Great acting at 27:00 as Price moves from laughing cathartically to crying despairingly.
I know it's been a bit digitalised, but what a quality film print for 1964 !
Very good comment, couldn't agree more. I love the everyday man dealing with crazy sh1t.
I never heard of this movie but am going to watch it for sure. I remember watching Vincent Price in the Theatre of Blood movie when I was a kid, never forget that "Poodle Pie" scene.
Omega Man and I am Legend are remakes of this film. I binged watched all 3 back to back during the Covid lockdown, lol.
Which one was better?
@@BOOGiNSOmega Man has better situations and props, and actors.
this is probably one of Price's greatest films. It showed real acting chops.. not where he hams it up.
When I watched this again years ago I thought I was experiencing a Mandela affect. I swore Vincent Price was the bad guy and the good guys were trying to cure him. I hadn't seen it since I was really young though and watching all of Vincent Price's videos as a kid they get jumbled up in my head.
I love these movies especially Vincent Price he was king of horror Price, Cushing, Lee excellent.
Fantastic film and brilliant acting by Vincent price
I have never thought we had the same apocalyptic movies in the 60's....
Oh, sure...in fact, there's a movie from 1951 called "Five" that deals with a word where 99.99 percent of the people have been wiped out.
Twilight Zone has an episode of last man on earth. Also check out The Quiet Earth
If you used a time machine to go back to a previous era, the most shocking things wouldn't be the differences, but instead the similarities.

Google 'Letter from Iddin-Sin to Zinu'
I have never seen this in color before. Thank you so much.
I actually remember watching this as a kid. ! He was the best ! Thank you ! He is much missed, that's for sure ! I miss them all. Thanks bunches ! ❤ 🙏 jomama-not tommy
I like how their poor, blind daughter kept calling out wanting comfort, and they never responded to her. She would cry "Mommy! Where are you?!" Then they would stare at her for a moment before speaking to each other.
Maybe she shouldn't go to school today 🤣
Why did your gory mind want to look at those scenes I clicked past them
@@Lighttningbolt There was nothing gory about that scene. The dialog was silly. And BTW, it's not real, just a movie.
@@everythingstemporary603 That lil girl suffering and helpless it will affect you movie or real worse than gory just couldn't believe you liked that
Richard Matheson wrote this masterpiece which gave George A Romero the inspiration to create Night of the living dead! 4 years later
Women:"I would not marry you if you were the last man on earth"
Me: "I am legend"
Price’s voice..unmistakable !❤
Encore un très grand film, merci beaucoup !
That dude calling his name every night would of been catching it early if it was me.
Yep, first bit of wood I turned would’ve gone his way
First to go…..keep my name out yo mouf!!!
……its morgan, get him!!! Ahh hell nah!!!
I think in the book it was his best friend, and that's why he had issues killing him.
This is my favorite Vincent Price movie by far. Am I second favorite thing he did when he was on The Brady bunch😂😂😂.
Yesssss ty for this movie. One of the best men in.horror movies ❤
Priceless gem 💎 masterpiece
People use the saying, “It all seemed like a movie.“ What’s entertainment always becomes your reality. You create it, you live it.
Three years of dealing with those dead guys outside. "Morgan! Do you hear, Morgan?" Each night!
Mijn Favoriete horror acteur ALLTIME!Vincent Price
Seen it a few times in
B and W. But NOW
colorized.....GREAT WOW😅😊
his voice is awesome. i wish there were books on tape being read by him.
AI will do that for you...
The Writer Richard Matheson was the same person that wrote the short story that inspired Spielbergs first movie Duel
My old English teacher in 10th grade looked and talked exactly like Vincent Price even dressed like him same hair . He could have been a body double Mr. Benjamin Hillcrest was his name I’m sure he’s probably passed away by now or in his 90s and I was in 10th grade in 1994 and he was easily 55-65 back then.
thx for posting this AND in 4k.!!!!!!!!
Finalement rien à changer en 60 ans , terriblement d'actualité. Un bon film.
Just wait until T takes office, way more than the same of nothing changes, It will be way worse my friend. Hang on to your furry friends, your balls.
Late Vincent Price, also very memorable as the Witchfinder General in the film of the same name, upon approaching burning the witch, would read from the scroll,in the year of our lord 1700 etc.
5hank you so much, a new classic. I'm shocked I never knew about this one. ❤
#1 movie for zombies, and then Night of the Living Dead
But they're vampires?
@@OscarDirlwood for all intents and purposes they're zombies
@@Lupi33z In what way? They're even described as such
Damn, this version is much more dark than the "I am legend" one. The poor dog was killed before they even became friends. I was hoping for him to find a friend. And the fact that there are other people alive that wants to kill Robert.
Edit, oh damn they killed him.
Humans can't be trusted. The dog could have, but the poor thing was infected.
A spaghetti zombie apocalypse film!
