God that high harmony really is incredible. The perfect amount of dissonance to give you that painful, longing feeling that the song is meant to convey.
Do you have the full Austin City Limits episode from 1982, where Larry Gatlin and Ricky Skaggs perform, includes opening credits with music by John Mills, closing credits with "London Homesick Blues", funding credits, and the 1971 PBS logo at the end?
Sorry. The short answer is no. Unfortunately, I did not record the Larry Gatlin segment. Opening credits, yes. Closing credits yes. Logo? I would have to check. Hope you are enjoying this.
The fiddle player and the piano player had the only other mics I saw. And after the piano ride, you can see him start to sing the chorus. But I can't tell if he's singing the melody or the harmony.

Just watched that guitar solo three times in a row, damn…
Fabulous Music.
One of Kentucky's finest!
Skaggs is killer! The tenor guy is cutting it son!
Perfect song for Ricky's voice. Love this sound.. 😁 💛 XX 🎸 from Scotland..
I first learned of Ricky Skaggs singing in Emmylou Harris' Hot Band and singing high harmony backups, in the 1980s.
Wow! That must have been incredible! That was some all star band!
Please tell us more.....I LOVE Emmylou!
Steel guitar player is phenomenal and Ricky is a virtuoso
That's a Dobro.
@@glencoe6305 your right I’m used to that player using pedal steel on alot of songs lol he’s one of the best
Singing Father Bill. No one does it better than Ricky.
Rest in peace to the great Bobby Hicks on fiddle. One of the greatest! King of the 5 string fiddle. A former Bluegrass Boy with Bill Monroe.
Amen. Will always have his music. God gave us his great gift forever. Member of my family at this time He and Ray in the same group awesome.
Sorry I meant to say when he was playing with Skaggs. But that's okay still the best
Badass Ricky
Superb
Very Good Sound and Stuff. .. Great Tele Master Mr. Ray Flacke. .. Nice One ... ☺😊😀/💙💙💙/👍👌👏👋
Acoustic guitars sound better than electrics I think.

Ricky's no slouch on the Tele, but nobody plays like Ray Flacke. The group lost something when Ray left, and it never came back 🙁.
His lines are so twisty and interesting!
Ouch! Live is best
Never knew Benny Hill sang that well.
Who's singing harmonies w/Ricky?
I don't know who is singing the melody but it is actually Ricky singing the high tenor vocal harmony part.
Most likely it’s George Grantham, the drummer, who also played with Poco

Ray Flacke is some guitarist !! The high harmony is slurring to much bum notes central!
Ricky is actually singing the high harmony.
Mickey Merritt...a great piano player....!
