    Using your instructions I made a variation of this meal today. I used ground turkey instead of beef and frozen Green Giant Cauliflower Veggie Rings in place of the French fries. The burgers were very moist and the rings crispy.

    I LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE😍 I have not perused the comment section ,but this works so well with frozen quarter pound beef patties 75/25 with the same time and temp👏👏👏it's a tight fit for two frozen patties in the basket but cook down quickly and don't stick together. I, as well as you, LOVE CRISPY FRIES, the ninja foodi rocks for fries as far as I'm concerned👍I did line foil vented for fries as suggested which also worked so well. I broiled the fries while burgers rested roughly 5 minutes for my preferred crispness but that can be played with to personal preference.Thank you SO MUCH for all you must do behind the scenes before you bring these excellent Foodi recipes to all of us, I don't know if my waistline could take it😂 Keep 'em coming

  • @Scrimpets1
    @Scrimpets1 4 роки тому +1

    Boy did I find out how significant the thickness of the burger is when I just tried this BEFORE watching your video! I did it in the 6.5 qt Foodi and it was the biggest failure I’ve had in this appliance, because I didn’t want the juices of the burger dripping onto the fries, I put foil underneath the burgers, the fries didn’t get very crispy and the burgers were well underdone (meaning I had to cook them much longer after the fries were done, it threw off the timing completely, it was a mess). So glad to see you publish this!

    • @Scrimpets1
      @Scrimpets1 4 роки тому +1

      Oh, Louise, this is great. I had the burgers on top and fries on the bottom. Mistake number one. I also used broil, not air fry. No wonder my fries didn’t get cooked as well as usual. I need to learn not everything needs to be broiled (except preheating on broil, that’s a great 💡!) and accept using the air fryer basket with burgers right in the bottom of the basket. I guess I didn’t trust it for some reason. Now I have a reason to get this situation corrected and use your methods here! Thanks again.

    • @Scrimpets1
      @Scrimpets1 4 роки тому +1

      I’m a flipper, you’re a flipper, he’s a flipper, she’s a flipper, wouldn’t you like to be a flipper, too? No. Wow, that’s a funny story but it’s giving me the confidence to resist flipping myself!

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  4 роки тому +1

      I'm so glad you saw this video then! It's so hard not to flip... really hard. What I've learned is to trust the basket and the design (I must admit I didn't when I first got the Foodi, that's why my other burger video used the rack and not the basket) of the diffuser legs. The other thing I've learned along the way is the fan speed is faster on air crisp then it is on broil, so definitely the best choice when you want something crisped up. I wish these things were in the manual, but they aren't. LOL It's been a great experience learning all that this machine can do and I must say, I'm very impressed!

    • @TheSaltedPepper

      I'm surprised I didn't show the middle, Jeff must not have had a good shot or he would have for sure. We certainly weren't hiding anything on purpose, they were delicious. So I thank you for your imagination. I’m Ukrainian and I’d like to see you do perogies and kolbasa. I’ve done it n the oven and palmed the frozen perogies. I also addd a whole onion and I think a stick of butter unsalted). I added cheese at the end. Served with sour cream and bacon pieces (real). The perogies and kolbasa was fantastic. I think if you shop around the xterm or of the store, you can’t help but make nutritional food. (Oh I make my own perogies and use the hot potatoe water in the dough. which size canning rack do you recommend if i have the 8qt foodi?

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  3 роки тому

      That's a good question. The diameter would be the same, but you can probably go with 3"legs instead of 2" if they sell that size.

    Great and helpful video! I'm new to the ninja foodi so find your videos super helpful. I'm currently cooking my homemade burgers now in the foodi but sadly couldn't add fries in as the rack my food came in doesn't fit into the smaller black pot so using my old actifry still for fries. However, I like the rack with the handle yiu used in your video. Can you tell me where I can get the same rack from? Xx

    • @TheSaltedPepper

      It's just a bolt that we had. You can can them at Lowes or Home Depot, take the rack and make sure it's a good length and fits. You need a bolt, washer, and nut.
