Using your instructions I made a variation of this meal today. I used ground turkey instead of beef and frozen Green Giant Cauliflower Veggie Rings in place of the French fries. The burgers were very moist and the rings crispy.
I LOVE THIS TECHNIQUE😍 I have not perused the comment section ,but this works so well with frozen quarter pound beef patties 75/25 with the same time and temp👏👏👏it's a tight fit for two frozen patties in the basket but cook down quickly and don't stick together. I, as well as you, LOVE CRISPY FRIES, the ninja foodi rocks for fries as far as I'm concerned👍I did line foil vented for fries as suggested which also worked so well. I broiled the fries while burgers rested roughly 5 minutes for my preferred crispness but that can be played with to personal preference.Thank you SO MUCH for all you must do behind the scenes before you bring these excellent Foodi recipes to all of us, I don't know if my waistline could take it😂 Keep 'em coming

Good recipes to follow and great presentations for me to follow Louise with food I love to eat. Love it, great job. Will check out more. Can't wait to get started.
I was thinking about putting the burgers in the bottom of the pan & using the silver rack that comes w/the ninja for the fries. I just got a ninja foodi for Christmas, thank you for all of your amazing recipes...
I love you Louise!! And, you crack me up! Especially when you do your taste testing. I love your site and intend to utilize it frequently. I just purchased my new, 6.5 qt., one that you suggested and can't wait to get started. Thank you so much :)
Boy did I find out how significant the thickness of the burger is when I just tried this BEFORE watching your video! I did it in the 6.5 qt Foodi and it was the biggest failure I’ve had in this appliance, because I didn’t want the juices of the burger dripping onto the fries, I put foil underneath the burgers, the fries didn’t get very crispy and the burgers were well underdone (meaning I had to cook them much longer after the fries were done, it threw off the timing completely, it was a mess). So glad to see you publish this!
Oh, Louise, this is great. I had the burgers on top and fries on the bottom. Mistake number one. I also used broil, not air fry. No wonder my fries didn’t get cooked as well as usual. I need to learn not everything needs to be broiled (except preheating on broil, that’s a great 💡!) and accept using the air fryer basket with burgers right in the bottom of the basket. I guess I didn’t trust it for some reason. Now I have a reason to get this situation corrected and use your methods here! Thanks again.
I’m a flipper, you’re a flipper, he’s a flipper, she’s a flipper, wouldn’t you like to be a flipper, too? No. Wow, that’s a funny story but it’s giving me the confidence to resist flipping myself!
I'm so glad you saw this video then! It's so hard not to flip... really hard. What I've learned is to trust the basket and the design (I must admit I didn't when I first got the Foodi, that's why my other burger video used the rack and not the basket) of the diffuser legs. The other thing I've learned along the way is the fan speed is faster on air crisp then it is on broil, so definitely the best choice when you want something crisped up. I wish these things were in the manual, but they aren't. LOL It's been a great experience learning all that this machine can do and I must say, I'm very impressed!
The Salted Pepper Oh I definitely love this appliance. Thanks for responding, too. As I said recently, your recipes are great, the videos are well produced (did I see a black dog mosey on by in one of them, just barely?) and your communication style is perfect.

Instead, you hid them from the camera, why? Also, could you put the cheese on while the burgers were still in, like maybe at the last 1-2mins, and could you make cheese fries too?
I'm surprised I didn't show the middle, Jeff must not have had a good shot or he would have for sure. We certainly weren't hiding anything on purpose, they were delicious. Yes, you can put the cheese on there while they are in the Foodi at the last minute of cooking. You can certainly make cheese fries.

I think if you shop around the xterm or of the store, you can’t help but make nutritional food. (Oh I make my own perogies and use the hot potatoe water in the dough. Are you soaking your fries first in cold water for at least 30 minutes? If I was going to do homemade fries, I would cook them 3/4 of the way in the basket and then remove, add the burger and put the fries on the rack to finish. I also spritz the homemade fries with oil.

Where can I find racks for cooking multi layers? Our foodi only came with one rack and it’s too tall where sometimes the food sticks to the burner. I have been checking on amazon with no luck.
It's just a bolt that we had. You can can them at Lowes or Home Depot, take the rack and make sure it's a good length and fits. You need a bolt, washer, and nut.
The basket comes with most of the Foodi models, except the newer 6.5qt. Ninja replaced the basket with a crisping plate for some reason. You can get the basket on their website though.

@@TheSaltedPepper Yes Ma'am I make them from scratch 😋 and I'll let you know via email how it all turns out. I can share how I do them. Oh have you done a sweet potato cornbread? Sweet potato soup or chill? Oh so good 👍
Love your hair like that! You’re adorable! 💕
Two questions what is a little hole in the burgers for? And also I’m not understanding how you put that little handle on the basket for the fries
The dent in the burgers helps prevent them from puffing up in the middle. I have a rack that fits into the basket and it has a screw and washers that I use as a handle. The rack is in my Amazon store under Ninja Foodi Accessories: amazon.com/shop/thesaltedpepper
@@TheSaltedPepper Excellent! I already purchased the rack when I saw your video. One of the question I want to do baked potato in my food. How would you do one? Keep them coming!
Hey this is amazing idea your videos are great I am in the uk and my ninja only comes with a rack for the slow cooker mode I have searched and searched every where for the
Canning tray to do the burgers and fries like
This but cannot find it any where any ideas your link takes me to something else is there any thing else to try ?
I haven't seen anything comparable in the UK, sorry!
What is the purpose of the dimple on top of the burgers? Thanks.
It helps them not puff up in the center when cooking.
Can I do a similar recipe with frozen burgers?
Yes, absolutely
Where can I find racks for cooking multi layers? Our foodi only came with one rack and it’s too tall where sometimes the food sticks to the burner. I have been checking on amazon with no luck.
The rack that comes with the Foodi is reversible, but I also use this one from Amazon: amzn.to/3PLLf0Q
Can I use a store prepared burger patty? If so, how long? Thank you!
Yes, you can. The timing really depends on the thickness, so I can't be exact with that. Sorry.
I just bought the canning rack. Where did you get the bolt and how is it assembled?
It's just a bolt that we had. You can can them at Lowes or Home Depot, take the rack and make sure it's a good length and fits. You need a bolt, washer, and nut.
Where you get the 2nd rack...I can't find it
I bought it from Amazon. Here is the link and the 8.25" fits in the basket perfectly. Affiliate link: amzn.to/3Pv5CQP
can i cook scones on this air fryer
Yes, but I use the bake function. thesaltedpepper.com/lemon-basil-scones/
Do you add water in the inner pot while preheating?
Not when using the crisping lid.
@@TheSaltedPepper thank you so much
Where did you get the metal rack ? The metal rack that came with my ninja foodi doesn’t fit inside the metal one like yours does
You can find it in my Amazon store under Ninja Foodi accessories: amazon.com/shop/thesaltedpepper
Where do you get that thing the fries are on? My husband wants one lol.
They have really gone up in price since I bought mine, but here is the link (affiliate link): amzn.to/3s54Pwu
what about home made fries ?
I have 2 videos on that. They are very easy to do.
I am having trouble getting this particular recipe. None of the links take me there. What am I doing wrong?
Wendy Weatherup there isn’t a recipe because it’s really only a technique. I guess I should write one because you are the second person to ask for it.
We are having a difficult time locating the fry basket you use in video. Any chance of a link?
I'm using the basket that comes with the Foodi and a rack that I bought on Amazon. Here is the (affiliate) link: amzn.to/2X1TQ6O
@@TheSaltedPepper do you have a link for the rack itself?
@@gareththomas3034 That is the link for the rack. Do you not have the basket?
@@TheSaltedPepper sorry for the confusion. I need a basket that goes above (where you cooked the chips) my foodi didn't come with one.
@@TheSaltedPepper sorry fries (British customs)
I don’t see the link to the written recipe.
Where to get the steamer basket?
The basket comes with most of the Foodi models, except the newer 6.5qt. Ninja replaced the basket with a crisping plate for some reason. You can get the basket on their website though.
What, size is the rack one? 🤔 I do need that in my life :D
Here is my amazon affiliate link for the rack I used: amzn.to/38JLIyF
Instead of frozen fries can I just use hand cut fries from fresh potatoes?
Yes, but they take a little longer usually.
is this the original ninja foodi or the xl?
6.5qt
