So The Reason why you kept dying to the Lamenter was Because his Clones were hitting you with their Magic which caused mini Lamenter Skulls to float around your head but because you were wearing the Huge Lion Head you couldn’t see them
The new Pate is fun to use, I used it while invading (to get through White Mask’s quest), just used the pate then evacuate from the world I invaded. (One was in the DLC area full of madness and gladly didn’t fight with the host and his/her buddy as they’re dealing with enough hell as is)
Deathbirds are weak to holy, but reistant to Magic. And Frostbite. Literally the things on your Putrescence Cleaver. So don't be a dumbass and throw some Holy Pots.

Using an item to transform your body, it was something in the older souls games and they didn't bring it back until now.
