Great job. Your abillity to capture and render the faded dry and cracking wood is amazing to me as well as the weathered metal. Thank you for sharing your charging, layering, and glazing techniques. I still strugle with these but find this video will be helpful. I lean towards the landscape art but anything old rusty and country looking is appealing. Once again, thank you for this video
Thank you for showing all the ways to achieve texture in the wood and metal. I learned so much from the different techniques and layers that you used. It is amazing what color range and value you achieved with only four colors. Great video!
Excellent tutorial, Rick. So clearly understood and explained. It's so nice having you talk about what you are thinking as you paint, about the painting
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. It is always a pleasure to watch you paint. I am in awe of your artistry. You are a great teacher. Thank you for helping me on my journey. Marlene
Love it! Reminds me of some weathered texture paintings done by Richard Bolton. Would love to see more of this type of painting. You can paint any subject matter so well.
Love your texture techniques - so appreciate your sharing! would be great if you could do a workshop for an art group near Newark/Zanesville, Ohio...strange times now but perhaps in the future? thanks!
Wow! Wow! Wow! This is awesome Rick. I leaned so much from this video. So many new to me techniques and your explanations were spot on as usual. Loved the subject too. Thank you Rick. BTW, a person on a FB group I follow posted a comment yesterday asking for a good UA-cam instructor for beginners. I commented that he should go to your channel and pull-up your playlist with the beginner tutorials. I sincerely believe that series of videos is better than any online courses requiring payment.
I had to prove to someone that you painted this with watercolors - that it is not an actual hinge but a painting. That should tell you how great this painting is. Thanks for the tutorial!
Wow, what a magnificent result. Not sure we have another painter here on YT so talented AND generous. Bravo et merci!
The hinge is popping off the paper. Didn't realize you could get this level of realism from watercolor! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for your comment!
RICK, your " KEEP IT SIMPLE tips " is a masterpiece. 4 colors, what a delightful understanding demo. YOU ARE A GENIUS ! Thank you sincerely.
