Ok. As someone who has a sliver overlord commander, I want to give yall alot of credit. You did a very good job at creating a budget version of my favorite archetype. I wpuld highly recommend using hivelord in the 99 and overlord as the leader due to him being able to tutor for hivelord when you're ready. But that's just me. I am very confident in saying that this is the best budget channel out here! Love the great work
Funny how mountain valley and Rocky tar pit would come back eventually in the list the moment you simply put another 50$ of shocklands in so those 2 become effectively cheap fetchlands
I like Psionic Sliver in my Hivelord deck! With slivers being indestructible, the damage they do to themselves mean nothing. Add Venom sliver to the mix and kill all opponent's creatures!
Me and a friend actually stacked our decks for "fastest sliver fight ever" Turn 1: red land, striking Turn 2: green land, gemhide, then virulent Turn 3: white land, commander It was way to fast and way to fun, 30/10
I remembered looking on the TCG player commander decks and CTRL + F for sliver. I seen your normal deck, which was expected, but I also seen a beta break the bank deck. So yeah, I knew this was coming. High quality video as usual
I played mine for a while with a pretty budget mana base. Luckily as I've collected cards during dominaria/ravnica recently, I picked up a decent number of shock lands and check lands. I also made a bogles modern deck but managed to pick up the green/white fetch which helps me get some of my shock lands and a couple of my amonkhet duals that have land types. Slivers seems to be a deck that gets better with the mana base definitly, especially if you're five-color. I've actually subbed out a lot of my mana-fixing artifacts and it's felt good.
Great video! Since the normal deck techs have the "reasonable upgrade" section, could we get an "unreasonable upgrade" section for the break the bank episodes? For this episode it could include cards such as Sliver Queen, Urza's Incubator, and Sliver Legion. I think it might be a fun way to mirror the original deck techs.
This channel is easily my favorite place to check out for Commander decks. Only gripe I have is that anytime you post a video of a fun deck, a lot of cards in said decks tend to spike in price. 😅😔
Great video. I think I'm going to have to wait for the all the cards I bought for the $25 version to come in before I start upgrading the deck, though. ;)
love it, will not be building this as im already playing slivers and am at a point where im doing mana base... buying all duels atm then onto fetches. remember people pain lands and the rainbow lands are amazing in slivers
When playing, do not forget, Quilled Sliver and Thorncaster Sliver abilities stack with poison and deathtouch. For some great extra threat and targeted spot removal.
i made myself a sliver deck for casual and its the most fun ive ever had. im lucky ive been able to trade for most slivers. now to get overlord >W> great video, btw!! very helpful for fixing my mana base
This comment will probably get buried... but gonna try anyway... What about running the "Vivid" lands (Especially Vivid Grove) because they can help get commander out? Why not replace a couple of Panoramas (esp for less needed land targets) with something like Unknown Shores or Shimmering Grotto (for the mana fix to get hivelord out)?? That being said, I recommend Darksteel Ingot for anyone doing this deck. I have also had some success with Urban Utopia, Smothering Tithe (surprise, right? lol), Navigator's Compass (Not sure why this wasn't mentioned), and Gateway Plaza. I LOVE this deck. Thank you soooo much. I hope some people add good replies and maybe even Commander's Quarters sees this. Thanks again!!!
When I was buying the stuff for this deck like 3 days ago I bought all the upgrade cards (except for 6) because they were cheap XD I feel kinda proud of myself lolz
With all that draw potential, Basal Sliver is a reasonable card to have. With a Gemhide and Basal out, you can tap a Sliver token for any colour mana then sack it for an extra 2 black. With that combo, one token Sliver can cast just about any card in your hand.
Mmmm Shifting sliver. That's one of the first slivers I tutor for with Sliver Overlord. If you can get a good board, it can help you wreck with almost no hindrances depending on what kind of interaction your opponents have.
oh hey I can breath again 😅 Great video! I love that you're focusing on a few unkillable slivers getting through! Any idea about swapping in a shadow sliver with some bounce to allow you to secure getting in? You don't have a sac outlet so maybe its not that great an idea, but I've been working on a sliver queen deck and Im finding a lot of dredge and toke spam potential to be a lot of fun in playtesting
wanting to get some slivers into my collection on mtgo and noticed that you can get the sliver foil deck for under 2tix!... when its in stock of course lol
Morophon by itself or with Jodah or fist of suns, Followed footsteps on any pumping sliver especially megantic, coat of arms is obvious in most tribals and normally i can pump slivers faster than you can pump dragons, Vanquisher's banner for the card replacement every time I play a sliver from my hand. I also play with a lot of the dual lands so searching for forests instead of just basic lands fetch those also. Eladamri's call is one of the best tutor's for that sliver you need because it puts it in your hand when you don't use overlord or get a homing sliver yet. Love the video though.
I forgot, door of destinies works well instead of coat of arms in case you get a board wipe by exiling you commander and a wrath effect before you get hive lord back out.
also followed footsteps or helm of the host or clone, etc on virulent sliver stack. 2 virulent slivers give poisonous 2 effectively. not a huge deal normally because you can have only 1 virulent normally in commander but good to remember.
Personally I would keep in the hunter sliver. Once you get your commander down or any other big sliver/slivers you can easier pick off peoples commanders/creatures by forcing them to block.
I've been upgrading my own Sliver Hivelord deck, and pretty much every upgrade here is one I've made. However, I've gone even above this! (I even run Sliver Legion and Queen!)
As the $25 budget deck excluded the price of the commander, would it be worth mentioning this fact in applicable break the bank videos going forward, and weather or not the price of the commander is included in the upgraded deck lists?
I bet you could make a decent lathliss, the dragon queen deck. Just put in whatever ramp red has access to and stat effient dragons like territorial hellkite, hunted dragon, small firebreathing dragons etc.
What are your thoughts on Mirror Entity, it's a sliver, and it pumps the whole crew for a lot if you got the mana to go with it. Considering slivers have low base stats, it's pretty effective, but maybe overkill.
This is perfect! However, one thing I would change would be to make sliver overlord commander, because he can simply tutor for sliver hivelord (or any sliver necessary for whatever you need)
I know it is not in the usual mission statement. But it would be great to see something like a "reasonable wish list build" To bring the previous commander builds up to a more competitive level.
Well when I think of this upgraded slivers, I am thinking 5 colors with more diversity. Though I am sure most people prefer silver overlord as the main commander
@@Equiste97 exactly. i had someone wrath once, and due to having a huge amount of slivers out i flashed in quick sliver(had been holding onto it incase something like this), then tutored and flashed in hivelord. the look on their face when they realized i was going to win next turn

I have actually made an overlord deck after converting my modern slivers into an EDH deck it is INSANELY good. I’m currently running Overlord as commander. Sliver hivelord, first sliver and morophron are In the 99 but because you can tutor for slivers you can pull out any sliver when you need it I pulled out hivelord when someone threatened a boardwipe. Decided on not putting queen and legion in just because they are so expensive. My version is basically a combo variant. With intruder alarm and paradox engine and a load of ways to reduce the cost of the overlords abilities. Like training grounds and heartstone. I put amoeboid changeling in too just to make use of the overlords second ability

Vanquishers Banner and Metallic Mimic are other good cards to add. Vanquishers Banner is a little expensive in mana cost but its also an anthem and card draw. Mimic counts as a sliver and gives all slivers a +1/+1 counter on etb
Don't think you take requests from commenters but I'm trying to build a mill deck around Phenax, God of Deception. Think you might ever do a tech for him?
I'm working on a very similar deck right now why didn't you choose Overlord instead of hivelord? You can tutor for the queen and the high board with the overlord. I'm still about 25 card shy on mine trying to figure out what to put in some of what you said is good info for mine. I have quite a few shock and fetch lands in mine as well. If I have at least four of each and things like darksteel ingot and other things how many Basic Land would you put in? I know a tough question since you don't know my dick but I think I have like 17 basics in there right now
I just played with slivers with my magic club tonight, actually it was just 1v1, but it was nasty good. They stumbled on mana though :( Always feel bad when somebody can't play magic until they lose. I did with against the group with Brudiclad though.
aaaand suddenly, this commander costs 23 $, it was way cheaper last week. I guess I'll be switching to Sliver Overlord instead. it may not give slivers indestructible, but it is a sliver search engine and if you play vs this deck you can take over the other Sliver player's creatures for 3 mana. If you really want indestructability, you can add Soul of New Phyrexia to the deck. it's not a sliver, but it is an avatar that pretty much looks like a monster anyway. it does cost 5 mana to make every Permanent indestructible, but it is way cheaper to buy @ only 1,6 $ compaired to the 23 that this commander costs. I was considering doing this one for my 100 & 5 $ challenge, but I think I'm gonna switch to Sliver Overlord instead. the 100 & 5 $ challenge is a challenge that players in my playgroup have started. decks must not cost more than 100 $ and no card can cost more than 5 $ near mint quality according to Card Kingdom. the cost of the commander is excluded from the price. So I tried putting this list in to tappedout to see and there are 2 cards that cost over 5 $ so if I'm gonna use this list as a base, I need to take them out. Alo the total list was around 150 $ so 1½ times what I'm allowed, but it also counts the commander in that price. I find these challenges really fun. the max 5 $ pr. card part makes the challenge a lot harder to make the deck work well, but I like that its hard. one card I missed during this is Mirror Entity. it is a must have in any tribal deck. you can take out Senew Sliver, as it is just copy number 3 of Predatory Sliver and Muscle Sliver and costs twice as much money (5 $).
I usually use the first sliver for the cascade ability to fill my board quickly and cheap. Overlord is handy but the one downside to overlord is if an opponent gains control of it they can start taking your slivers from you.
